After coaxing Lord Kitty to sleep, Mo Tianliao started to concentrate on making storage pouches.
The quality of the storage pouch was dependent on two factors. One factor was the purity and smoothness of the crystal, and the other factor was the amount of spiritual energy used to expand the space in the pouch.
The space array was the foundation of the method of creating storage pouches. The patterns were extremely complicated. There are two types of patterns, one for space storage and one for spiritual energy storage. Any small mistake or inaccuracy would lead to space instability or spiritual energy leakage. This was the reason why the storage pouches were so expensive.
Majority of refiners would carefully draw the patterns with an expensive array brush. It took at least one day to draw a full array, and once there was a wrong brush stroke, the array was ruined, but for Mo Tianliao……
The fingers that dipped into pyrite crystal liquid were so fast that only a blur of shadows could be seen, the image was very beautiful, and seemingly careless. Not only ten minutes had passed and the array was completed. The spiritual energy slowly filled the pouch, only after around fifteen minutes, Mo Tianliao stopped. Mo Tianliao was out of breath, he was only at the sixth stage of Qi Refining and was only able to fill up the pouch to half the size of a house.
While Mo Tianliao meditated to replenish the spiritual energy he had used, the black iron stone in the furnace had been refined. Mo Tianliao picked up the small knife and coated the blade with the liquid from the refined iron stone. He quickly condensed his qi to his fingertips and started to mould the knife, sculpting it into a strange shape. There was a sharp hook at the top, and could at most only be used as a burin.
He took out a large piece of water wood he had picked up from the rear mountains, it was currently the largest refining material in his possession. He used the burin to split open the coarse log and shave them into sharp wooden thorns, each of which were about three inches long.
“That Woqing Cove disciple, he really stayed inside the forge for ten days.” One of Red Flame Heaven’s guards commented while drinking wine.
“Maybe he is meditating,” the other person stroked his beard with an all-knowing expression. “Cultivators with fire attributes often come here to meditate in seclusion.”
Everyone was convinced, thinking that it was impossible that a cultivator only at the sixth stage of Qi Refining could refine any viable weapon.
“In my opinion, these direct disciples are all very rich but have nowhere to spend their money. The spiritual energy in the three coves is so abundant. He can simply meditate in his own room, but he chose to come here and waste money.”
While the few disciples were engrossed with gossiping, a jade token was gently placed on a bamboo tray on the table, making a clear clinking sound. A pleasant, low voice tinged with exhaustion faintly said: “Keep it well.”
Not waiting for any answer, he immediately turned and left.
The few disciples that were guarding the entrance stared at the silhouette of the black-clothed man, then looked at one another. They had no idea how much of their gossiping Mo Tianliao had heard, and felt very uneasy in their hearts.
The guard, in a panic, chased behind him, “Shishu, wait.”
Mo Tianliao turned his head back, “What is it?” For many days, he had refined storage pouches too many times, almost setting the furnace on fire, unable to even close his eyes for a few minutes. He desperately needed to sleep, so his current temper was not good.
The guard could not help but shiver when faced with Mo Tianliao’s icy expression. He hurriedly took out two pieces of low-grade lingshi, “Shishu has not finished using the forge for the full duration of the tenth day, this is your refund of two pieces…”
“No need,” Mo Tianliao did not wait for the disciple to finish his sentence, and raised his hand to stop him. “Use it to buy wine to drink.” He flicked his sleeves and left.
Returning to Woqing Cove, Mo Tianliao did not go to pay respects to his shizun, and went directly to the small courtyard, activated the privacy array, and fell straight asleep.
The small white furball climbed out of Mo Tianliao’s arms and sat on his chest, looking at him. The handsome face was somewhat blackened by the smoke from continuous refining, and there were dark eye-circles beneath his eyes.
The kitten turned around and jumped off the bed, a bright white light flashed, an extremely beautiful white-clothed Qingtong Zhenren appeared in front of the bed. His clear eyes flashed with coldness, really so stupid, just left the forge, no fur, yet still do not know how to cover yourself with a blanket! How do you provide a warm bed for this venerable one if you catch a cold?
His lips thinned, and slowly extended a pair of fair and slender hands to pull over a thin blanket at the side, casually throwing it over Mo Tianliao’s body. He then withdrew his hands and looked around the room. Thinking that Mo Tianliao would not be waking up for a while, he then left the house.
“Reporting to Zhenren, sect leader sent a message.” Upon entering Qingning Palace’s main hall, the maidservant that was once again dressed in white came forward and presented him with a voice talisman.
He used a single finger to swipe over the talisman paper, and Tianlang Zhenren’s calm voice immediately rang out , “I just arrived back from Qingyun Sect, do the both of you want to come over and look?”
Once the voice message ended, the voice talisman burst into flame, Qingtong threw aside the burning paper in his hand, turned and walked out.
While cultivating the orthodox path, there were often many disputes, requiring the three major sects to mediate. These kind of occurrences were often accompanied with division of benefits between the sects. Therefore, every time the sect leader returned from a trip, he would bring back many interesting treasures.
In Wotian Cove, Tianning Palace.
The sect leader, Tianlang Zhenren was sitting upright in his seat, looking extremely charismatic with an extraordinary aura around him, the disciples in the hall all gazed at him with reverence.
“For our trip this time, everyone has worked hard, each person will get a bottle of Anshen pills.” Tianlang Zhenren smiled amiably.
The group of disciples hurriedly gave thanks, each took a bottle of the Anshen pills and left, extremely satisfied.
“This time, the benefits are quite abundant?” Xuanji Zhenren entered, and instantly saw a group of disciples leaving while holding the bottle of pills. Anshen pills were suitable for the disciples who have not formed their golden core yet.
Because the energy in the spirit was turbulent, be it an orthodox or demonic cultivator, there would always be inner demons in their hearts to disturb their cultivation. Without a spiritual beast to calm their inner demons, cultivators had to take refined pills instead to suppress them. Such pills were as indispensable as lingshi to cultivators.
Tianlang Zhenren stroked his beard: “Still passable, Qingyun Sect encountered a serious problem this time, to resolve the matter, some blood has to be spilled.”
Once the disciples in the hall had all left, Tianlang Zhenren looked around to check that there was no one, then took out a few dark-coloured jade bottles from the storage ring, “These bottles…”
The sentence had not yet finished when a white shadow flashed past, the table was instantly swept clean, Qingtong elegantly sat on the only soft couch in the hall, a few bottles of refined pills were neatly placed in front of him.
“Hey, don’t take it all away, you have to keep one bottle for me.” Tianlang Zhenren immediately jumped up and took two or three steps towards Qingtong, trying to grab the black jade bottle, but was poked in the head by a slender and fair finger.
The clear and cold gaze swept over the jade bottles in front of him and found that there was nothing of need. Immediately disinterested, he lifted his hands and swept all the bottles to the ground.
“Ah–” Tianlang Zhenren cried out, swept out his sleeves and caught all the jade bottles safely, hugging them in his arms. He bitterly squatted on the ground, seemingly wanting to say something and looked up. Upon seeing the pair of beautiful eyes, he instantly withered, and threw the bottle he wanted to give to Xuanji to him, quickly putting the rest of the bottles into the storage ring.
“Take them out.” Qingtong lifted his foot and kicked the sect leader who was squatting beside the soft couch.
“Laosan, I am a sect leader!” Tianlang Zhenren could no longer endure it and burst out. The power of a sect leader was unfathomable. This outburst, mixed with thunderous wrath, was extremely powerful. The entire hall was suddenly filled with the abundant golden spiritual energy, painfully stabbing the skin of the people inside.
The disciples who were guarding the hall felt the violent pressure of the sect leader’s oppression, and scattered.
Qingtong raised his hand, and slapped the back of his head, “Extremely noisy.”
“Thud!” The sect leader’s face crashed into the cushion on the couch, and the golden energy in the hall disappeared. At a distance, Xuanji Zhenren lowered his head and chose to keep silent.
The sect leader cradled his head while squatting for a moment and pulled out a white jade bottle: “Heavenly Qi Condensation pills.”
Qingtong took the bottle and continued to look up at him.
The sect leader gritted his teeth and pulled out two more red jade bottles: “Heavenly Spiritual Fire pills.”
Qingtong received the bottles and swirled them leisurely in his hand.
“There’s nothing left!” The sect leader said bravely.
The beautiful man on the couch used a hand to support his chin, reclining on the big cushion, lifted a slender finger, and the neat rounded nail of his fingertip instantly stretched longer, becoming a transparent sharp hook, glowing with a cold light.
“Awoo–” From the main hall, there was a howling noise. It was cut off by the black array that was instantly activated. It could not be heard beyond the hall, and Tianning Palace fell into a strange silence.
“The sect leader and the two cove masters must have some important matters to discuss.” The disciples outside saw the array and consciously kept their distance from the main hall of the Tianning Palace.
After a while, the hall became silent yet again.
The white kitten crouched on the soft couch, gracefully licking the paws, the greyish-white wolf lay flat on the ground, resting his two front paws on his forehead, his hind paws spread out, and lay on the ground playing dead.
A white light flashed, the slender and beautiful figure appeared again. Keeping the row of jade bottles, he lightly said, “I have to leave the sect for a few days, if there is any issue, do not come to find me.” After that, he transformed into a stream of light and whoosed away to Woqing Cove.
The Xuanji Zhenren who was hiding in the corner slowly came out and squatted beside the wolf, “That, da shixiong, I am leaving.” After that, without caring about his shixiong’s reaction, he fled.
When Mo Tianliao woke up, he stretched out, refreshed. At that moment, the white kitten broke through the window and leaped into his arms.
“Xiaozhao……” Mo Tianliao caught the small furball, looking helplessly at the broken window, he had to re-stick the paper yet again.
“Mrow!” The kitten seemed to be in a good mood, and lifted his paws to give Mo Tianliao a slap.
Mo Tianliao laughed and placed the kitten into his arms: “Come, let’s go down the mountain to buy something nice to eat.”
