Lydis the Bride and the Vessel of the Goddess 1 (2)

Mercuris widened her eyes and flapped her wings. Her wings are quite large, so I wondered if they would get caught anywhere, but they seemed to be transparent, and with each flap they passed through my clothes as if they had no mass.

“Good??”

“Yes, I, too, would prefer you to relax and be by my side, and it must be tiring to be so uptight.”

“Liddy, Liddy, Liddy.”

When Mercuris called my name several times, she touched my cheek.

Her fingertips were slender, wearing finely woven lace gloves, and the rough feel of the lace touching my cheeks was pleasant.

“This dress belonged to Aria, right? Even though Ria-sama is sad that she’s gone, he still seems to be a bit strange to make Liddy wear his own sister’s dress. Let’s take it off quickly. I will choose the most suitable dress for Liddy every day. I’ve got lots of lovely, sexy, and cute ones that will make Gilbert, who is a pain in the ass, shed tears of admiration, so don’t worry.”

“Thank you so much. I thought there were more dresses that I was not familiar with, did Mercuris prepare them for me?”

“Yes, yes, yes. The Butterfly tribe are good with their hands and have an eye for beautiful things. That’s why they leave their villages and work as tailors in the Town to pass the time. I looked in Liddy’s closet and found nothing but servant’s clothes, plain clothes, and bad taste dresses. I think the bad dresses were prepared by Master Astaroth, so I left only the ones that were still decent and sent the rest back to my friend the tailor. Was Liddy treated badly in the castle?”

“Not at all.”

“That’s all right, but if anything happens to you, you have to tell me. If you get hit, I’ll retaliate. Aria-sama was a higher rank than Mercurius, so I couldn’t do anything, but Liddy is a weak human race. I have to protect you from the men in the castle who are a little crazy.”

Crazy castle men.

Astaroth and Ria? Gilbert was not included, surely.

“Aside from Gilbert-sama, I know only Cronaea, the spirits, Astaroth and Ria, but they are all very good to me.”

“Not all the names that you mentioned are good people, except for the spirits. It’s a good thing that Master Chuzel is only eccentric and still sane, but anyway, I’ll be by your side and I won’t let you be inconvenienced, Liddy. He must have been from a good family in the land of men from the way he behaved. In a castle where all the decent people have disappeared, I think he did very well on his own.”

Mercuris hugged me like she would hug a small child.

It was a little painful because the rich breasts pressure against my face, but it felt good when the lace rubbed against my skin.

I wondered if my mother was doing well, because the feeling of her breasts  pressing against my face was similar to this. I wondered what she would say if I showed her Gilbert-sama.

She likes muscular people, so I’m sure she would be pleased. I know that she secretly goes to see the training of the knights and ranks them according to their magnificent muscles.

Once, with a very serious expression on her face, she said, “Liddy-chan. Soleil, Clive, and Master Rafael are all unsatisfactory. Mother is always hoping that you will buy a more muscular slave knight or something”.

I was not interested in buying slave knights for no particular reason, and there is no such thing as slavery in the Kingdom of Evandia, and slave knights do not exist in the first place, so I am sorry that I could not meet her expectations.

But I am sure that Gilbert-sama will be able to fulfill my mother’s desire to have a muscular man as her son-in-law.

“I’ve rambled on for too long. One of the characteristics of the butterfly tribe is that we love to talk, and when we get together with our friends, we talk for hours over tea.”

I took a breath, relieved from the pressure of her chest.

“I still only know the area around this castle, but is there a town?”

“I can’t believe you’ve never even been to the town! Quintessential Gilbert-sama, led you to the bedroom without even going on a date with you, and imprinting on you… Strange. Gilbert-sama is not interested in the town, so let’s go shopping together sometime. It would be fun to introduce Liddy to my tailor friend and make you a new dress, that’s for sure!”

“Right, I’m looking forward to it.”

If there is a town, I’d like to see it. I think I will ask Gilbert-sama for permission to go out with Mercuris in the near future.

“I’ve been talking too long again. Let’s take off that oversized dress and put on a new one. I will braid your hair and put flowers in it. Your beautiful hair is damaged, so I will take care of it and make it shiny.”

I was asked to sit down in the round chair in front of the dressing table. Mercuris’s wings glistened as new dresses, brushes, and bottles of salves rose from the shelves and floated around her.

“First, let’s take care of the whole body then comb your hair!”

Once a week, a group of maids from the duke’s household would come together to groom my body. The way Mercuris quickly took off my dress reminded me of them, and I felt a little nostalgic even though it had only been a few days since I arrived here.
