“Louie Isis. The only son to the owner of Isis Tradings located in the capital.”

“So a commoner? That’s impressive of him to be able to enroll here.”

“His academic result is excellent, so he’s enrolled with a scholarship.”

“Hmmm. So, you found anything?”

“Nothing so far.”

“Is that so.”

Alfred was listening to the report by Jade. They were in Alfred’s chamber in the Royal Palace.

Only Alfred and his three close aides were there. Fania was absent. After the entrance ceremony had finished, as soon as they returned to the Royal Palace, he was sent to rest.

I really used up his energy last night… Alfred was thinking about Fania, and broke into a smile.

Alfred asked Jade to check into the new student, Louie who crashed onto Fania today. That was exactly why Jade stayed at where Louie fell to the ground. Basically, these three aides would never leave Alfred’s side. Following Alfred’s order, Jade had remained at the scene to extract information from Louie.

Jade was not that tall, but he had perfect facial features, an epitome of a young nobleman. He himself knew of his own charms. Despite being a high noble, he was friendly towards others and he had a cheerful and easygoing attitude. He could easily get familiar with anyone he met and instantly get along with them. Jade’s specialty was getting information out of others.

Among Alfred’s close aides, he was called the information broker.

Let alone Alfred, even the other close aides didn’t believe the incident where Louie crashed onto them was a mere accident.

‘Anyone shall not be close to Alfred, a member of the royal family. No matter if it’s a high noble, there’s still a line separating them.’ That’s the unwritten law around here.

Aside from the acknowledged close aides, no one was allowed to hang around Alfred. Alas, Louie had charged straight towards Alfred. No matter if he was a commoner, the issue would not end just by saying he had no common sense.

Was there any objective behind it, was there anyone who was pulling the strings; all these needed to be investigated thoroughly.

Louie charged towards Alfred, but the one he crashed was Fania. There was also the possibility that the one he aimed wasn’t Alfred but Fania instead for whatever reason. If that was truly the case, there was a higher need to be on guard against Louie.

There’s no way I’d let him hurt Fania again. Alfred’s determination only turned stronger.

In the same room, Zernite drooped his head. Among Alfred’s close aides, Zernite had the role as the bodyguard. He would protect Alfred even by using his body as a shield. That was the duty entrusted upon Zernite.

Nevertheless, Fania himself had stepped forward like he was protecting Alfred. Zernite didn’t even have the chance to move. If Louie, by any chance, held a blade, Fania could even lose his life on the spot. Even if that was not the case, the slender Fania couldn’t stay unhurt when crashed by someone.

It was a blunder on Zernite’s side.

It couldn’t be helped no matter how much Alfred was to reprimand him, considering that he treasured Fania even more than himself. Zernite could only grind his teeth out of vexation over how spineless he was.

However, Alfred didn’t blame Zernite at all. Far from that, he was being considerate towards Zernite and gave a thudding pat on his shoulder.

As for Fania, it hadn’t even crossed his mind to lay the blame on Zernite, he was only mumbling some incomprehensible stuff like ‘The game has started~’ or ‘Whoa, an event!’.

Zernite fell into a deep thought, Fania is strong.

His body was small and meek, yet in order to protect Alfred, he easily offered his own body. And he did it like a matter of course, at that.

There wasn’t the slightest haughtiness about it nor did he ask for any compensations for it. It was the same during the time he consumed the poisoned chocolate, he only accepted the incident as it was.

On no account did he blame others, or accuse anyone.

Fania is strong, and also brave. It was not something anyone could do. No wonder Alfred loves him to death.

Zernite was thinking about Fania who was already on a trip to slumberland in the chamber next door.
