After class.
Renatus went to the library.
The library at the Royal Academy of Edelbard was magnificent with a large collection of books. It was spacious and many students came there for self-study.
Renatus always borrowed what he wanted and enjoyed reading in his room or the rose garden.
However, today he had an appointment to spend the day at the library.
“Bradley, over here.”
“Sorry, I’m late.”
Renatus had an appointment with Bradley. It was to help him with his studies.
Apparently, during the period when he was being harassed, there were days when he could not attend classes. Therefore, Bradley had said he might lose his top student position.
Bradley was eager to be at the top of the class and to be paired with Renatus for the joint exercises. Renatus also wanted to be paired with Bradley.
That’s why they decided to study together until the exam period.
Both magic and knight departments shared the same basic classroom lectures.
Of course, the average score was different between the magic department, where there were a lot of study-holics, and the knight department, where the focus was mainly on physical training.
Not to make light of the other students, but if Renatus taught Bradley, who was very smart, he could easily be at the top of the class from now on.
The office worker inside Renatus had worked part-time as a private tutor when he was a student. He was used to teaching.
“This is my first time in the library.”
Bradley looked around curiously.
“Is that so? It’s pretty fun. I come here often because my only hobby is reading.”
Renatus’ voice became lively. He was happy to be able to introduce his favorite place to his friend.
“Let’s sit at the back. It is easier to concentrate when there are fewer people coming and going.”
“Ok. Leave it to me.”
Renatus led Bradley to a table at the back and sat down together. Because Renatus needed to teach Bradley, they were not facing each other but had sat next to each other.
It wouldn’t have been strange no matter how much Renatus looked at Bradley, since it was in the name of teaching him how to study.
The handsome profile of the main character was at such a close distance. His long, melancholy eyelashes were sexy.
(I have to try not to get a nosebleed from excitement
)
Renatus braced himself.
“Your notes are very easy to understand.”
“I was thinking of giving this to you, Bradley. You can take it with you after the study session.”
“Isn’t it yours, Renatus
?”
“I understand this scope, and I have memorized it.”
Renatus’ brain had the potential to become the villainous prime minister of the original novel. So, he had a very good memory.
In fact, he was surprised when he was reincarnated as Renatus. He wondered why the original Renatus had lost the fight for the top rank with the protagonist.
Did he study wrongly? The current Renatus was able to study efficiently thanks to the memories of his previous life.
“Is that so
No wonder you are the top student of the magic department,”
“I get embarrassed when I am praised.”
Renatus chuckled in embarrassment, and Bradley also smiled as if he was drawn in. It was a carefree smile. It was very destructive to see at a close distance.
The study session then proceeded harmoniously.
Bradley was an excellent student. He had a good comprehension and swiftly absorbed the knowledge as quickly as you could teach him. He was indeed the protagonist.
(Fun times go by so fast, don’t they?)
Renatus left the seat for a moment to do his business.
On his way back to his original seat after finishing various things, from a distance, he could see Bradley was on his feet arguing with a student from the knight department.
Even though they were ‘arguing’, only the other party was yelling at the top of their lungs.
He couldn’t hear Bradley’s voice. But you could tell by the look on his face that he was angry.
(Bradley said everything was fine, but there are still students who try to start a quarrel.)
Renatus rushed there in a panic.
â€œăƒŒIt stinks! You ba*tard from the slums! The sacred library will be polluted!”
The male student’s curses towards Bradley were extreme. So much so, that it was this other person who was actually desecrating the sacred library with his actions.
Bradley had a complicated look on his face as he noticed Renatus approaching.
The male student also noticed the presence of a third party when he saw Bradley’s reaction. He turned to face Renatus.
“What’s the commotion!”
The male student flinched when Renatus roared.
The library was a public space and open to all students. Therefore, his curses towards Bradley were simply the other person’s deliberate attempt at finding faults.
The fact that he was shaken meant that he was aware of that.
Renatus stood between Bradley and the male student in intervention.
Then he glared at the male student sternly.
“You were saying a lot of nonsense about my friend.”
“F-friend
”
“I, Renatus Ashfield, consider Bradley Wolf as a close friend of mine. I get enraged when my friend is attacked for unjustified things.”
I’d taken the liberty of promoting him to my close friend, but I was sure he would forgive me as I tried to settle the situation.
“Bradley, what caused the commotion?”
“It’s this.”
Bradley pointed to one of the notebooks Renatus had said he would give to Bradley, which was now torn to shreds.
And the other notebooks had the imprints of shoes trampled on them.

From chapter 6 onwards, we decided to stick to the original and it will have both the 1st and 3rd pov. I changed 1pov to 3rd pov for convenience in earlier chapters so I will make some adjustments to earlier chapters in the near future. I am sorry for causing confusion. Please feel free to comment or dm in discord for suggestions.
