Chapter 111 - Jiu Lian and Mo Qing (I)

Yong State located at the north of Tai Hua Mountain, right next to Yun State and Cen State. The cultivators reached an agreement to meet at Yong State, discussing how  they should enter the Fiend Palace before they took any action.

Three days later, everyone was gathered here.

The four sects all sent Elders and some of their most talented disciples, and the childes of Eight Families’s direct line of descent had come as well. Among them, the leaders from Duan Hun Sect, Gui Yuan Sect, Bai Family and Yun Family were all Da Sheng Period Elders, while other sects’ leaders were at least Tribulation Passage Period cultivators.

Yu Qingzi wasn’t the one with the highest level of cultivation, but surely a cultivator with great renown.

As the Peak Master of Tai Hua Mountain’s Qing Lan Peak, Yu Qingzi never  pursued great Cultivation Period. Her real interest was Pill Forging. Only Yu Qingzi – the best Pill Forger in the world – had the ability to forge a Heaven Level Eighth Grade God-like Pill!

After everyone had arrived at Yong State, the thirteen leaders gathered together and held a discussion. The rest of the elders and disciples went to prepare the items they might need in the Fiend Realm. Luo Jianqing, along with Wei Qiong Yin, stayed with the elders and listened to what they needed to be aware of.

“Though the Fiend Realm is under the Fiend Palace’s management, the Fiend Cultivators rarely follow the rules. Therefore, many Rogue Fiend Cultivators live within the Fiend Realm but never listen to the Fiend Palace’s command. The Fiend Exalt is not good at handling things like this. In addition, a Fiend Cultivator with higher Cultivation Base is more prone to ignore the rules set by the Fiend Palace, so, after we enter the Fiend Realm, we need to be cautious to those Rogue Fiend Cultivators.”

Another Elder agreed with it. “That’s true. These Rogue Cultivators usually hate righteous cultivators. Even if we are the guest of the Fiend Exalt, they still won’t treat us politely. This time, given that there are many Elders with high–level cultivation base, common Rogue Cultivators won’t be a problem, but we still need to pay attention to those reckless and fearless blockheads. Jianqing, you are powerful enough to protect yourself, but, Qiongyin, you only achieved middle-stage Gold Core Period so far, be careful.”

Wei Qiongyin nodded.

The discussion went on. Half an hour later, a page came in and brought a message to Luo Jianqing, saying that someone’s waiting by the door.

Luo Jianqing didn’t expect this and was slightly confused. He excused himself and went out.

An elegant monk in white frock was standing outside with folded hands, giving him a bright smile as soon as he saw him, “Amitabha, it’s been one year since the last time we meet. Your cultivation is enhanced. Congratulations.”

It was always a delight thing for Luo Jianqing to meet Fo Zi. He invited Xuan Lingzi to his lodge in Tai Hua Mountian. On their way, Luo Jianqing asked, “Fo Zi, your cultivation base has skyrocketed. If my assumption is correct, it won’t be long before you achieve the next level.”

Beaming winsomely, Fo Zi replied, “You’re right. I’ve reached the rim of late-stage Nascent Soul Period, thanks to the Grand Zen debate. However, it’s nothing if compared to you who has almost reached Out-of-Body Period within one year.”

Luo Jianqing shook his head, “It’s just a fluke.”

“There is no fluke in terms of what happened in the past. You are destined to own the luck.”

Luo Jianqing didn’t make any comment. Well, what else could he do? He couldn’t just tell Fo Zi he managed to snatch opportunities which belonged to Li Xiuchen, nor he could tell him that he’s been benefiting from the couple cultivation with his Master – a Deity Transformation Period Cultivator!”

They arrived at Luo Jianqing’s assigned room, then chatted about what happened since they parted last year.

Fo Zi reported the Fiend Cultivator who killed a hundred thousand people to his sect, then Gui Yuan Sect immediately sent Tribulation Passage Period Elder to the mountain range for investigation. After confirming the death of that Fiend Cultivator, Gui Yuan Sect sent hundreds of monks to chant the sutra for the innocent, helping them enter the samsara.

Fo Zi learned a lot from what they experienced, then attended the Grand Zen Debate. During the debate, a young monk from Jing Tu Sect amazed all the audience. Though he was only an Early-stage Gold Core Period cultivator, the new comer had every in-depth understanding on Buddhism.

Fo Zi debated with him for seven days and seven nights, and finally, the younger one’s thoughts were drained out. However, suddenly enlightened, the younger monk reached middle-stage Gold Core Period. Fo Zi had benefited a lot as well. After a half-year seclusion, his middle-stage Nascent Soul Period cultivation base was consolidated and even reached the rim of late-stage Nascent Soul Period.

Listening to Fo Zi’s story, Luo Jianqing sighed, “I never expected such exciting things at this year’s Grand Zen Debate. Looks like it was a wrong decision to leave you early. I should have come with you to Gui Yuan Sect and appreciate the amazing seven-days debate.”

Fo Zi said reluctantly, “Well, you didn’t meet that Younger Brother from Jing Tu Sect. He’s got a powerful mind. I didn’t win him with no sweat.”

Luo Jianqing shook his head in disagreement, “I believe in you.”

Eyes meeting in the air, they smiled.

Noticing the time, Fo Zi felt it was time to leave. Luo Jianqing walked him to the gate. In the yard, they unexpectedly met Wei Qiongyin who was dressed in total black. Wei Qiongyin stared at them  with a slightly surprised look but just for an instant. She greeted Fo Zi with a cold face and then left without saying a word.

Luo Jianqing explained to Fo Zi, “My Third Younger Sister has been acting this way since she was little. There is only one thing she cares – cultivating. Everything that other than this was not in her concern. So she is not very talktive.”

Fo Zi beamed, “Well, I am interested in her instead.”

Luo Jianqing was astonished. “What?”, glancing at Fo Zi all over, Luo Jianqing tilted his head aside, pretending to be extremely confused, “Fo Zi! Are you planning to answer the call of love, finally? I remember that you said you had a tribulation waiting ahead. Could it be the tribulation of love?”

Immediately, Fo Zi blushed. He shook his head, “My Master has no idea what the tribulation really is, but I’m not… I’m not having a crush on Cultivator Wei. It’s just, when I saw her, I sensed tremendous amount of Buddhism karma. If she decides to cultivate in Buddhism, she could certainly have a great achievement.”

Luo Jianqing said, “Put aside the gender issue, even if my Younger Sister wants to be a Buddhist Cultivator, her Master will confine her at Bi Can Peak and won’t allow her to step out for just a millisecond.”

Fo Zi smiled, “Owning a Buddhism karma doesn’t mean that she has to be a Buddhist Cultivator.”

Chatting for little longer, Fo Zi returned to the lodge that Gui Yuan Sect’s representatives were resting at.

Before closing the door, Luo Jianqing suddenly sensed several streams of tremendous Spiritual Coercion dashing toward himself. Immediately fixing his eyes to the edge of sky vigilantly, he saw four beams of light crossing the firmament and landed before him.

The man who looked like the leader was an intimidating old Elder. Seeing Luo Jianqing, the Elder frowned at first, then slightly eased the coercion. “Are you the Great Senior Disciple of Tai Hua Mountain, Luo Jianqing?”

Among the four, the cultivator with lowest cultivation base was an Out-of-Body Period cultivator. Luo Jianqing couldn’t even tell the exact cultivation base of the cultivators with higher level. However, he faced them with no fear in his heart. Greeting them politely, Luo Jianqing said, “Yes, I am. What can I do to help you?”

“I am the Ninth Elder of the Mo Family, Mo Feng. I heard that you are a close friend of Mo Qiu – the descendant of the Mo Family’s lineage which was exiled to the Northern Waste Land. There are rumors about him achieving Nascent Soul Period already, but he never came back to us in order to add his name on the Descendant Record. A very impolite thing to do, I have to say.”

Luo Jianqing finally figured out why they came here.

This was what it called “The poor always lives as a nobody in the crowd, while the rich will become well-known even if he is in the desert”. These cultivators of Mo Family only knew that Mo Qiu already owned late-stage Nascent Soul Period cultivation during the Grand Competition of Tai Hua Mountain, but they had no idea that Mo Qiu reached the rim of Out-of-Body Period one year ago. Even without the fact that Out-of-Body Period was in Mo Qiu’s pocket, a descendant who reached late-stage Nascent Soul Period was one that these hypocrites would take pains to get.
