A look of displeasure crossed Zuo Haiwen’s eyes, but he held back his anger and said, “The families that you know of, are those that want you to know of them. If you offend them, the Qiao’s won’t be able to even dream about entering the Beijing market.”

Qiao Pan’er finally knew to be scared as she looked at the man with discomfort, “How’s that possible?”

As soon as Yu Gangan sat down at the main table with Fang Zhihan, she immediately felt like a strange creature that was attracting everyone’s gaze.

Yu Gangan lifted her head and snuck a glance at him. She was both embarrassed and a little uncomfortable.

But, Fang Zhihan remained normal as he said calmly, “I’ve already given a monetary gift on your behalf.”

A monetary gift? Yu Gangan was planning to give a tangible gift. But, since Fang Zhihan already gave it, then she didn’t have to anymore. Slightly shy, she asked, “How much did you give?”

She was prepared to pay him back.

“1 million yuan,” the man replied calmly, causing Yu Gangan to almost choke on the water she was drinking.

Fang Zhihan pulled out his handkerchief and handed it to her, “Drink slowly.”

Yu Gangan covered her mouth and mumbled, “How much? Did you make a mistake? Why did you give so much on my behalf? How do I have that much money?”

“It’s on me.”

“Who wants your money?” This was a gift, so she was too embarrassed to ask for it back. In that case, all she could do was ask someone to change the name on the envelope to Fang Zhihan’s.

As though he knew what she was thinking, Fang Zhihan replied, “You can’t take it back and you can’t change the name on it.”
