Hikura Kouko(氷倉凍子). The evil young Yuki Onna. Sharp eyes, and long black hair. Reiko is her mom.(冷子) And Himiko(氷見子)is her lackey.\n

I stared up at the ceiling with a dead glance.\n
The only sound accompanying me was the sound of clock hands.\n

I got so angry I closed the webpage.\n
This conversation is annoying, so I left the computer.\n
Who said the internet is the future.\n
However when I layed down on the couch, I couldn’t fall asleep.\n
“Ara, Are you okay to wake up already?”\n
My mother was cleaning up the living room once she saw me get up.\n
I got tired of lying down, and went to the first floor.\n
I can only be idle for so long, and just because of this pain won’t stop that.\n
The pain won’t leave, and it will be here to stay.\n
So it’s better to do something to distract yourself from it.\n
I put on my apron and got to work.\n
“I can’t rest when thinking about the work that needs to be done.”\n
“I see. . .Well don’t overdo it.”\n
I stood at the counter as usual.\n
After a while, the customers came.\n
The entrance door made a noise.\n
“Welcome. . .How many people?”\n
I greeted the elderly couple.\n
“. . .Please this way to the window seat.”\n
“Hai. Thank you. So young and yet so polite.”\n
“Excuse me, We’re ready to order.”\n
I then took the order of a family of three sitting at the back of the store.\n
“We’ll have this, this, and this.”\n
They pointed at the menu for their order.\n
“. . .Okay, one cutlet bowl, one curry rice, one kitsune udon. Is that right?”\n
While saying the order, an adult man with a beard and glasses, probably the father, nodded in confirmation.\n
With that I delivered the order and got back to work.\n
But as I started walking, I was stopped.\n
“Well, we’d like to see about ordering two wild vegetable udons. It is the recommendation here, right? The store says that this was the original spot for it.”\n
It was a student couple.\n
Maybe they are taking a long vacation. One had a tourist magazine besides them. I’m sure they are enjoying their trip.\n
Both of them ordered the promised famous wild vegetable udon.\n
“Yes it is. Coming right up.”\n
I then passed the order to my father in the kitchen.\n
“It also said in the review that there was a cute named waitress with a nice smiling face who would happily accept your order. . .”\n
“Something about her seemed harsh. . .”\n
“Sorry for the wait. Here is the wild vegetable udon.”\n
Whew, I completed all of the orders. \n
Now I can take a little break.\n
The customers that finished their meals were waiting before the cash register.\n
I hurried and got behind the checkout to process their order.\n
“Yes, that will be 1350 yen.”\n
After paying and leaving, the wife of the elderly couple actually came back while closing her purse.\n
“Don’t overdo it, dearie.”\n
Then the mother of the family of three called out while holding her child’s hand.\n
“You can’t overwork yourself.”\n
Then the young woman from the student couple.\n
“If you are having a hard time, you should take a rest.”\n
I wonder why they are telling me this.\n

This was a neat chapter. Usually gender bent period parts are a one off, and usually follow the same story. This one has been interesting, because it is more so focusing on the reaction of not just Yukiya, but people around her. Which is usually not touched on that much.\n
