Chapter 4: There are Eleven Others Just as Strong as Me!\nCurrently, Bailian was lying on the stiff bed and feeling a bit bored. Her wound felt a little itchy, but it didn’t hurt. The room was silent and once in a while, the silence was broken with the sound of Bailian restlessly moving about in the blanket.\n
Voices faintly traveled into the room and Bailian perceived that the village banquet was still going on merrily outside. She could hear many voices simultaneously complimenting and flattering how Patriarch Li raised a good son, one who could repay his parents. However, there were more voices praising Zhang Youen, as he placed first in the exam and was much younger than the Eldest Son of the Li Family. All the officials, under the County Magistrate’s orders, had especially sent gifts to congratulate the duo.\n
Maybe it was because of the hustle and bustle outside, or the fact that all of Wuming’s Village head and elders were here, but it masked the sound of Matriarch Wang scolding and cursing at the Third Branch. However, even if one heard, no one paid much attention as she was only verbally reprimanding them and didn’t even hit them.\n
Even so, Bailian could clearly hear the Matriarch screaming at Li Ciying and the Third Branch’s Couple. Since the two boys had gone out to weed the yard and feed the pigs, they were spared from the verbal beating…\n
Bailian laid back down on the stiff bed, starting to feel a bit dizzy and absent-minded. She concluded that she had lost too much blood and so her body wasn’t feeling too good.\n
Just as she shut her eyes and prepared to take a nice nap, she started to smell the fragrance of green grass typical to that of the great outdoors and grand grass plains. Was she dreaming?\n
With her eyes still closed, Bailian raised her hand up to her face to touch her nose, but instead of the sensation of her nose, she grabbed onto a fluffy ball of fur, something resembling…that of a small rodent.\n
Bailian was impressed, this house rat was really quite bold ah!\n
She quickly sprung up into a sitting position and opened her eyes. Once she saw the sight in front of her, she was flabbergasted and at a complete loss for words. Just where was she?\n
“Squeak!”\n
Hearing the sound of a mouse squawking nearby, Bailian unconsciously looked at her right hand that had touched the fluffy thing and saw next to her was a small, white fluffy cloud of fur.\n
Although Bailian was a secret service agent in her past life, she was after all still a girl and was naturally deeply afraid of rodents, spiders, and snakes. However, the white fluffy ball in front of her seemed rather harmless and instead made her feel intrigued.\n
The mouse looked up at Bailian innocently with its sparkling eyes and fearlessly jumped into Bailian’s arms.\n
Bailian squeezed instinctively, eh, it felt pretty soft!\n
After holding the mouse in her hand, she abruptly stood up and looked at the grassy landscape around her. She felt like she was still dreaming, Is this an immortal’s fairyland?\n
Behind her stood an erect and charming wooden cabin, and next to that cabin, there were several planted fruit trees with lush, verdant leaves that glistened in the sun. The fruit trees were quite big and would need at least two strong people to carry it away.\n
An iridescent waterfall suddenly descended out of nowhere, forming a clear and rippling river. At one’s first glance, one could not tell how deep the river’s depths were. In the water, gleaming fish darted and skittered playfully in the water, and white and rose-pink lotuses serenely floated on the surface, making for a very beautiful, picturesque scene. \n
Bailian’s mouth suddenly twitched, she just ironically remembered what her own name was.\n
Growing up in an orphanage, she had faced life all on her own, with no name or surname. She didn’t belong anywhere and so everyone just called her Bai. After she became an agent, she was in need of a good codename.\n
Since her team all had codenames related to plants, she also followed the trend and decided her codename would be White Lotus. What a good White Lotus (Bailian) ah!\n
I didn’t expect that even after transmigration, I would still be called Bailian. It makes me want to cry without tears ah!\n
On the far side of the dreamy river, thick fog drifted in the air, making it hard for one to see clearly through the dense cloudiness of water vapor. There was also an impenetrable heavy mist floating behind the suspended waterfall. Next to it, a large plot of grassy land lay in front of the wooden house. It was relatively flat, but the grass grew quite vigorously and looked very healthy.\n
“Am I transmigrating again?” Bailian was currently very confused and in a daze.\n
“Master, what nonsense are you spouting? This is your space ah!” Suddenly, the mouse that had been lying docile in Bailian’s arms spoke!\n
The little’s mouse sounded young and very immature, almost like a child’s voice. \n
“What the-”\n
Bailian shuddered and violently flung the mouse out of her hand. \n
“Squeak~” The fluffy white mouse rolled on the ground for a while before stopping, “Master, do you not want me anymore?”\n
The fluffy white mouse’s voice was tinged with unspoken grievance and naivety.\n
“You can speak?”\n
Bailian took a deep breath, mentally steeled herself and began to feign calmness. After seeing that the white mouse seemed to have pure intentions in those sparkling eyes, she was reassured and felt that it was rather cute.\n
“Master, what do you mean, I’ve always been able to talk!” The white mouse was dumbfounded at his master’s cluelessness.\n
“Uh ok….why are you calling me Master? Where are we anyway?” Bailian thought that this wide-eyed mouse was rather gullible, so it should be fine if she dug for some useful information!\n
“This land is where my friends and I, as well as my Master, reside! It is an interdimensional space that is hereditarily inherited from master to master. They are the only ones that can access this space! Our memories intuitively tell us that whoever can access this space is our master!” The fluffy white squirmed comfortably in Bailian’s hands.\n
The clean and refreshing fragrance radiating off his Master’s body made him feel at ease and very relaxed.\n
Bailian was quite taken aback,“Your friends? You mean it’s not just you who is here?”\n
“En,there are eleven other powerful beings that are just as strong as me here!” The fluffy white cloud looked quite serious and deadpanned this information to the shocked Bailian whose mouth fell open.\n
Bailian: …..\n
She had long felt that it was suspicious she hadn’t encountered any other creatures in this space, but the fluffy white cloud said there were eleven more…\n
Bailian had a bad feeling, could it be that the mouse was referring to the mythical, legendary Twelve Zodiac?\n
Reaching up to rub the center of her eyebrows, it was itching like crazy! Ever since she had entered this dimensional space, it had felt like her brow was burning! Could it be that the space between her eyebrows was somehow related to the dimensional space?\n
Bailian suddenly remembered that in her previous life, her previous body did indeed have a small mole mark in the center between her eyebrows. However, since she transmigrated, the mole shouldn’t be there anymore!\n
In her past life, she was well-known for her perceptive and amazing adaptability. After all, she did become a secret service agent, and agents needed to be able to prepare for any situation. She quickly processed the information and easily remembered the main points.\n
“Then how do I get out?” Bailian repeatedly poked the fluffy white mouse in her hand, it was just too cute!“\n
“If the Master wants to go out, you can just go out, squeak!” The fluffy white mouse answered and looked at Bailian with a baffled, yet cute expression.\n
Bailian silently conjured up an image of the dilapidated room from before and silently whispered: “Leave”. In the blink of an eye, she had somehow returned back into the room.\n
As her senses returned, she could hear the hum of voices and dishes clinking outside. It filled the quiet room and if one listened closely, one could faintly hear Matriarch Wang’s screeching. Bailian sat up on the bed and looked to see that the white fluffy mouse was still in the palm of her hand.\n
Everyone in the Li Residence was very busy dealing with the banquet, so the Matriarch didn’t bother to enter the “concubine room” to check up on Bailian. Even if Bailian had disappeared just now, no one had stumbled upon that discovery. \n
Bailian’s brows furrowed in annoyance at the sound of Matriarch Wang’s harsh words and indistinct shrieking. Thinking of how much the Third Branch suffered under this greedy vulture, she asked the mouse in her hand, “Just how strong are you?”\n
“Squeak, I’m very strong! I can dig holes and run really fast…” The white mouse listed off his talents in an arrogant tone, his prideful shoulders looked like it would burst through the ceiling any minute now.\n
“Alright!” Bailian fiercely nodded, “When will your other eleven brothers come out?”\n
Bailian thought that if the Divine Dragon could be summoned, then she would never have troubles again in her lifetime!\n
“Squeak, I don’t know, but I could feel that the seal placed on me had weakened slightly due to the appearance of a new Master, so I escaped from the seal!” The white mouse proudly narrated his story but didn’t know that Bailian was actually regarding it with disdain while it was excitedly recounting its breakout tale to Bailian。\n
“En..you can go back then.” Bailian quickly nodded and prepared to send this enthusiastic mouse back to her dimensional space.\n
For farming villages, mouses were often the villager’s worst enemies. Mouses would often nibble their way through walls and eat the food found in people’s homes. Since ancient times, when supplies were scarce and a family could barely afford to eat, mice were often killed on sight to prevent a disaster like famines from happening.\n
“Wait!” The mouse quickly clung onto one of Bailian’s thin fingers, “Master..”\n
Seeing the mouse throwing a childish fit in front of her, Bailian chuckled and felt her mood greatly increase. Besides, she wasn’t completely useless and had golden fingers, she definitely wouldn’t starve to death here.\n
Bailian prodded the mouse’s head, “What else do you want?”“\n
“Master……I still don’t have a name yet!” shyly asked the mouse.\n
“Let me think, hmm, just exactly what name should I give you!” Bailian quickly sank into deep meditation over this dilemma, “Since my surname is Li now, then I’ll name you Li Shu!”\n
“Squeakk~” Li Shu happily chirped and yelped, “Thank you, Master, I finally have a name! You are the best, Master! I like this name, it even has the mouse character in it!”\n
The corners of Bailian’s mouth twitched as she looked at the overjoyed mouse in front of her and before she was about to strangle this loudmouth, the mouse was sent back to the dimensional space.\n
