I really like this fanwai because I think it serves as a great lens to examine “traditional” omegaverse fiction, highlighting just how terrifying it would be to have your mate, your loved one, lose all control of themselves due to pheromones and become a beast purely driven by instinct. I’m not saying that the author was trying to make that commentary, but this fanwai is in direct contrast with the rest of the novel. it really adds to my appreciation for the sexual dynamic and approach to the omegaverse shown in the main story!\n
also, regarding JSY: 1) he knows he did wrong/regretted his decision but had used the aphrodisiac with the good intention of making his alpha happy, not out of ill intent, and 2) he had no idea what was going to happen (don’t give your friends/coworkers drugs without a warning!)
