Chapter Thirty Four
The next day was Saturday, so He Yan didnât have to go to work and he could get up a little later than usual. The house heâd rented near the company was almost ready, so the next day, heâd be able to move in.
âIâll cook lunch. ShaoYan, can you take me out to buy something? Iâm not familiar with this area.â He Yan shot him a meaningful look.
Wang Zhe, who was still eating breakfast, said, âGe, let me go along with you.â
He Yan pressed him back into his seat by his shoulders, âYou canât cook, so what could you do? Look after the house properly, weâll be back soon.â
âButâŚâŚâ
Jiang ShaoYan had already put on his down feather coat, âBe obedient.â
ââŚâŚokay.â
Wang Zhe took his own cashmere scarf from the clothes rack as he escorted them to the door. The previous snow still hadnât melted and the air was wet and cold, seeping into the bones. If he didnât have something to handle, Jiang ShaoYan wouldnât have wanted to go out in this weather. Fortunately, He Yan had brought a car.
Wang Zhe watched the car come around and then wrapped the scarf around Jiang ShaoYan.
âWhere are you going to buy food? Thereâs a supermarket in the shopping center next door.â
Jiang ShaoYan of course knew that, since heâd gone to the supermarket with Wang Zhe on the first day they arrived, so he could only say, âGe wants to drop by the rented house to see how itâs been set up.â He wasnât lying, He Yan really had planned it like that.
âSo itâs like thatâŚâŚâ Wang Zhe lowered his eyes, continuing the movements of his hands, wrapping Jiang ShaoYanâs neck with a scarf carefully to ensure that no trace of the cold wind could blow in.
âMy Ge likes you a lotâŚâŚ He hasnât taken me to see the house.â
Jiang ShaoYan smiled, âWhat, you eating my vinegar1, hmm?â
Wang Zhe shook his head and asked, âWhen will you come back?â
âAround 10.â
âOkay, Iâll wait for you to return.â
Â
However, the road conditions were worse than expected. Due to the layer of snow wetting the ground, those driving on the road were afraid of their tires slipping, so the driving speed was much lower than usual. Several intersections were seriously congested with heavy traffic. In the end, it was almost 1 pm when they finally arrived home.
Jiang ShaoYan had already called Wang Zhe a while back to tell him to order delivery for himself and he and He Yan had eaten lunch nearby.
âIâm sorry, I promised to cook, but this was the outcome.â He Yan shrugged helplessly.
âItâs fine.â Jiang ShaoYan threw off his snow-covered coat and scarf, and said to Wang Zhe who had come out to greet them, âDid you eat?â
âI ate.â He took the coat and scarf and hung them on the rack.
Although they had been delayed for a long time, theyâd still bought the food, so theyâd just save it for dinner. Jiang ShaoYan took the shopping bag into the kitchen, tearing open some of the packaging and throwing it in the trash can without much thought. Suddenly, he felt that something seemed off and he glanced at the trash can again.
âWang Zhe, what did you eat for lunch?â He went into the living room to ask, instantly spotting a half-eaten bun on the coffee table.
Wang Zhe replied, âAh, I wasnât hungry, so I just ate something random.â
Jiang ShaoYan said, ââŚâŚwhat do you want to eat,? Iâll make it for you now.â
âNo need, Xuezhang.â
Jiang ShaoYan ignored his words, rolling up his sleeves and entering the kitchen. Wang Zhe hurried to chase after him, while He Yan watched the excitement from the sidelines, âWhatâs wrong?â
âHe didnât eat properly.â
He Yan smiled, âA-Zhe, you canât make ShaoYan worry all the time, heâs already been troubled enough over youââmmph?â
Jiang ShaoYan had covered He Yanâs mouth. With a fierce glare, he said, âGe, donât talk so much.â
He Yan didnât get angry. He giggled as he pulled his hand away. âHey, how can you scold your elder? If you donât respect your elders, I certainly wonât be considerate of you.â
Jiang ShaoYan knew he was joking. But, since he was asking the man for help after all, he had no choice but to say, âGe, let me be alone with him for a bit.â
He Yan laughed again and very tactfully didnât make any more trouble, going straight upstairs to rest.
The personality gap between the two relatives really is too huge, Jiang ShaoYan thought to himself.
Â
Wang Zhe hadnât said a word since the two of them began talking, as if he were just a block of wood. He finally spoke up after He Yan left, âDid I trouble you a lot, Xuezhang?â
âDonât listen to your Geâs stupid remarks, itâs no big deal.â
Wang Zhe was silent for a while. âWhy not just tell me why my Ge said thatâŚâŚ What have I done thatâs so bad? Just tell me right away, Iâll definitely fix it.â
Jiang ShaoYan knocked his head with the wooden spoon, âDonât think so much. Itâs useless to tell you some of the things.â
For example, his pheromone or whatever, would mentioning it change anything? Itâd just make the silly dog feel less confident, so it was better not to mention it.
âBe good and sit down. First, fix your problem of not eating properly.â
Jiang ShaoYan made some simple fried rice. He was afraid that the ingredients werenât rich enough, so he added some flavoring, but no matter what he did, Wang Zhe would eat everything anyway. It was as if heâd eat anything he made even if it was burned and who knew if heâd ever even get full.
Â
In the evening, He Yan finally had the opportunity to fulfill his promise. He personally cooked a meal to repay the past few days of care. The taste was surprisingly good.
âItâs too difficult to find authentic local dishes abroad, so I had no other choice but to learn by myself.â He Yan gestured with his chopsticks, âTry this dish of meat with sauteed green pepper. Iâm very proud of it myself. I can guarantee itâs good.â
Wang Zhe immediately said, âXuezhang doesnât eat green peppers.â
âAh? Not eating any at all? Just one little taste.â
It wasnât like Jiang ShaoYan wouldnât eat it at all, just a small bit would be tolerable. Moreover, He Yan had been so quick to help him so much, so he could give him this much face.
âNormally I wouldnât eat this, but since itâs a rare chance to have Geâs cooking, Iâll try a little.â
He Yan hurried to reply, âIf you really donât like it, donât force yourself.â
âItâs okay.â Jiang ShaoYan lifted a small piece of green pepper and shredded pork and put it in his mouth with a blank expression.
âŚâŚSure enough, I still canât get used to the taste.
âVery good, do you have some secret recipe?â He naturally let the topic move on. He Yan went along with him and went on and on about his exclusive recipe, skipping over the issue of whether Jiang ShaoYan liked eating it.
In view of the fact that He Yan was going to leave the next day, the three people ended the meal with a little drink of wine. Jiang ShaoYan didnât expect that Wang Zhe, who never drank, would also want to drink some and not only that, but that heâd be bold about it. He drank the small half-glass of red wine in one gulp.
âWhyâd you drink it so fast? Your stomach will hurt.â
Wang Zhe shook his head, but his face was already beginning to flush. He was about to reach out for the bottle and pour another glass, but Jiang ShaoYan swatted his hand away and forbade him from drinking any more. He held his empty wine glass in a daze, his eyes vaguely unfocused, sitting at the side quietly and listening to the two of them chat.
Jiang ShaoYan didnât respond too much to Han Ye, his attention fully on Wang Zhe. After watching him for a while and seeing his eyes go a little bloodshot, he said helplessly, âLook at him, how can his liquor capacity be so bad? Iâll take him upstairs. â
He Yan waved his hand in understanding, âGo ahead, rest early.â
Â
Jiang ShaoYan bent down to put Wang Zheâs arm across his shoulders and carried him upstairs. Although Wang Zhe wasnât drunk enough to not be able to walk at all, because of his tall frame, Jiang ShaoYanâs center of gravity was unstable. He almost knocked into the wall several times, but each time, right before impact, he was pulled back.
This silly dog was focused on protecting him even when heâs drunk.
When he finally delivered him to the bedroom, Jiang ShaoYan felt as if he had run a marathon. Before he could take a breath, Wang Zhe, whoâd been put on the bed, suddenly grabbed his arm and, with great effort, pulled him down to the bed as well.
Immediately after, he rolled over and pressed him beneath his body.
âXuezhangâŚâŚI want youâŚâŚâ
Didnât expect him to take the initiative like this when drunk.
Jiang ShaoYan pushed him, âIâm not interested in a drunk. Wait until youâre sober to say something like that to me.â
Wang Zhe didnât seem to hear him, catching his obstructing hands and interlocking their fingers. He pinned his hands on either side of his head.
The dark of his eyes was corrupted by intoxication, speckled with red, broken glints of light. He looked both pitiful and somehow secretly dangerous.
âWhy arenât you interested?â The drunken Wang Zhe had only caught that phrase. âIâm just no good, huhâŚâŚâ
âWhat a mess. If you come near me right now, youâre dead.â
âI can satisfy youâŚâŚâ Wang Zhe pressed his entire body down, burying his head in Jiang ShaoYanâs neck. âEven if you only need my pheromone, I want toâŚâŚgive you everythingâŚâŚâ
The gland on the side of his neck was suddenly licked by that tongue.
Jiang ShaoYan instantly shivered, this guy is for real. He struggled angrily, but surprisingly he couldnât move Wang Zhe a bit.
âYou fuckerâŚâŚsober up for me!â
Jiang ShaoYan was really upset at the moment, upset that this silly dog could suppress him until he couldnât even move, but what upset him even more was that Wang Zhe intended to forcibly mark him in this drunken state.
A mark like this had nothing to do with love, it was purely the desire of an alpha to possess an omega.
It made him feel extremely disgusted.
Unfortunately, Wang Zhe, whose thoughts were sluggish and messy, couldnât sense that the one beneath him was a man full of rage, and said in his own little world, âI want to be your alphaâŚâŚâ
Hot breath followed after those words, brushing against that fragile neck, then sharp teeth were exposed, and a fierce, strong bite sliced into the gland.
Jiang ShaoYan went still immediately.
Â
The pain of the penetrating teeth and the agitation from the slowly-flowing pheromone was more sharp and sensitive than last time, perhaps due to the imminent failure of the suppressant. The scent of Wang Zheâs pheromone instantly melted into his blood, flowing within his body straight to the nose of that still-sleeping beast.
Deep down in his body, the sound of something shattering seemed to come forth and his heart trembled.
At the limit of his patience, he fiercely bit into Wang Zheâs shoulder.
â*Hiss*ââ At the feel of pain, Wang Zhe released the grip of his mouth and lost the strength in most of his body.
Jiang ShaoYan seized the opportunity to push with all his strength and Wang Zhe was shoved off the bed. The back of his head knocked against the headboard and he let out a painful groan. He covered his head, his eyes clearing a bit.
Afraid heâd hurt him, Jiang ShaoYan leaned over him slightly, but he saw that he was unharmed and drew back to say, âDid you sober up? Whatâs your mental state?â
Heâd obviously been ready to give his whole self over, but then the result was that heâd been forced like this.
Jiang ShaoYan usually didnât take his heat very seriously and didnât talk very seriously about it. He even dared to speak brazenly and frankly about it, but wasnât he actually a bit afraid of it?
His body and free will would be under the complete control of another person, how could he not be afraid? It was just that he was proud and arrogant, refusing to let himself look small and cowardly in front of Wang Zhe. Besides, with how little self-confidence Wang Zhe had, if he revealed how terrified he was, how could they make any progress?
Heâd needed excessive mental preparation previously before he decided to take the risk of letting Wang Zhe be his alpha, even though the mark might fail, even though he might not make it through his heat.
If even Wang Zhe would force him, that would make him really discouraged and downhearted.
Jiang ShaoYan said coldly, âIf you do this kind of thing again, donât blame me for beating you.â
To his surprise, Wang Zhe went so far as to laugh. âYou said you couldnât bear to ever hit meâŚâŚâ
âAre you treating a casual remark as law now2?â Jiang ShaoYan looked at him in indifference. Suddenly a fire burst up inside him and he stood up on the bed and kicked him in the stomach.
Wang Zhe immediately curled up in pain, clutching his stomach.
âWhat an act,â Jiang ShaoYan sneered. Heâd only used thirty percent of his strength, so based on Wang Zheâs strong physique, how could it possibly hurt him like this.
But Wang Zheâs body was trembling slightly, his hands clutching the sheets so tightly that his knuckles went white.
Jiang ShaoYan frowned, âWhere were you kicked? It really hurts that bad?â
He moved closer to look him over and saw that Wang Zheâs eyes were redder than before. The wet light in his eyes was fragmented, all the emotions in his expression blurred into an indistinguishable mess. The tip of his high nose was also bright red, and he was sniffling.
Rather than from pain, it was more like he was shaking from the tears.
But he just wrenched his face into an ugly smile, âIt really hurtsâŚâŚ I really am stupid, arenât I, always taking so seriously what you say so casually. Thatâs why I always make you angryâŚâŚâ
Jiang ShaoYan couldnât hold his own in the face of this kind of appearance. âOkay, donât feel wronged. I havenât been trying hard at all, so itâs not always you making mistakes. Come here, Iâll give you a massage.â
Â
Wang Zhe didnât move. Still a bit intoxicated, he continued to voice his thoughts, âIâm really stupid, clinging to your casual words for seven yearsâŚâŚhow can I have any merits? Even acting as a dog, I trouble youâŚâŚI bothered you and wonât let you go, you must be so annoyed with meâŚâŚâ
The more he spoke, the softer his voice and, in the end, he was almost inaudible, leaving just intermittent choked out sobs.
Jiang ShaoYan listened in a daze. In the end, his heart went completely soft. He lay down on his side, gently embracing the man before him who seemed to be breaking into pieces before his very eyes, stroking his trembling back to comfort him.
âYou have so many merits, you donât bother me at all, donât say that. Rest well. In the morning, when youâre clear-headed, Iâll address these issues one by one.â Except for his own family members, heâd never been so patient and gentle with anyone in his lifetime.
Wang Zhe rested his head on his chest, but his arms didnât wrap around him as usual. He was silent and calm, seeming to be suppressing his emotions.
Jiang ShaoYan softly soothed him for a long time, until Wang Zheâs body gradually stopped trembling and his breathing calmed, apparently asleep.
He bowed his head to look at the large dog huddling in his arms, making sure that he wasnât suffocating. He then let out a heavy sigh. His thoughts were in a state of chaos. It seemed that heâd completely overlooked something important, but he didnât understand how anything was connected together to result in this problem. In a daze of thought, he slipped into sleep.
