Bathed in the sunlight, I gradually snapped out of my drowsiness.
I felt like I was dreaming. Dreaming of my childhood.
Then I heard someone knock.
âAnos? Iâm coming in.â (Sasha)
Sashaâs voice called me out.
When I opened my eyes, I was met with silver hair.
The girl who was resting her forehead against mine, breathing softly in her sleep, was Arcana the Selection God.
âArcana,â I called out, and she opened her eyes with a start.
âWhen did you crawl into my bed?â (Anos)
âAfter you fell asleep.â (Arcana)
I heard the door to my room open with a click.
And two sets of footsteps approach.
âStill sleeping?â (Misha)
Mishaâs voice echoed.
âAnos? Wake up. You said you wanted to talk, so I stayed up all night to avoid oversleeping,â Sasha said while shaking my body.
Arcana moved and woke up.
ââŚEh?â (Sasha)
The blanket slipped off Arcana as she sat on the bed.
Revealing her bare, divine body, emitting a pure glow.
âWhaâŚWhaâŚâ (Sasha)
Sashaâs eyes widened in surprise.
âWhy are you sleeping with Anos?!â (Sasha)
Arcana gave her a listless look.
âIs it a sin in this country for gods and demons to sleep togetherâŚ?â (Arcana)
âY-You slept together?!â Sasha shouted in panic, despite being the one to ask.
âHmm. Since you two came over, it must be quite late now. Sorry. It seems I actually overslept for once.â (Anos)
âItâs my fault. I put too much strain on you.â Arcana replies, still naked, facing me.
âHow was it?â (Arcana)
âWhat do you mean?â (Anos)
âIt was my first time, so I donât know if I did well.â (Arcana)
Sasha turned pale and clunged to Misha.
She seemed confused.
ââŚD-D-D⌠Did you take advantage of Anosâ kindness to make demands on him?! Even gods have things they should and shouldnât doâŚ!â (Sasha)
âDemands?â (Arcana)
Arcana turned to me, looking clueless about Sashaâs question.
ââŚTh-Then⌠Was it Anos who askedâŚ?â Sasha asked fearfully.
Arcana shook her head.
âI did it with good intentions. I thought thatâs what he wanted.â (Arcana)
Taking her word for it, Sasha snapped.
âA-Anos would never wish for that !â (Sasha)
âThis is what everybody desires. As a god, I wanted to grant him salvation.â (Arcana)
âI-If you think all men are the same⌠Then too bad for you!â (Sasha)
Sasha hesitated for a moment but then glared sharply at Arcana.
âMy Demon King has no interest in such things at all!â (Sasha)
Arcana looked back at Sasha with clear, pure eyes.
âWhat do you know, I guess even gods can be depraved! If you think this can bring salvation, then youâre sorely mistaken!â (Sasha)
âWhy do you think so?â Arcana asked innocently.
ââŚB-Because⌠Heâs never even⌠asked me to do thatâŚâ (Sasha)
Arcana gazes at Sasha inquiringly.
âW-What Iâm saying is⌠If Anos was going to ask you for something like that even though you just met, he wouldâve asked me first insteadâŚâ (Sasha)
âThis isnât something you can do. Thatâs why I did it.â (Arcana)
Sasha blushed hard.
âI-I can do it too! If Anos asked, Iâd do anything he wantedâŚ! Thereâs nothing I couldnât doâ (Sasha)
âFilling his void isnât easy. Even the body of a god couldnât handle it.â (Arcana)
âY-You couldnât?! Itâs that badâŚ?!â (Sasha)
Sasha glanced at me with a mix of embarrassment and shock.
Then she quickly averted her eyes and glared at Arcana.
âW-What? You think that scares me? Iâm not scared. I donât mind if he messes me up. Iâd be happy with anything Anos does to me. Besides, Misha can make me stronger with her Magic Eyes of Creation!â (Sasha)
Misha tilted her head and murmured, âWhat are we talking about?â
âA-Anyway, Anos would never wish for this! Right, Misha?â (Sasha)
Sasha clung to Misha, seeking affirmation.
Misha blinked and looked at me while slightly tilting her head, seemingly wanting to question this misunderstanding.
I nodded in response.
âArcana, what did you do to Anos?â Misha asked.
âExactly what I just said. I tried to restore his lost memories.â Arcana replied.
âHe told me that he lost them during his reincarnation. One of the gods Iâve consumed is the one that governs memories, Lyeno Ga Roaz. I tried to use his order to tap into Anosâ memories, but recovering those form before his reincarnation isnât easy.â (Arcana)
And that put a strain on my body, something even Arcanaâs body couldnât handle.
ââŚD⌠Donât do something so misleadingâŚâ Sasha murmured, blushing.
âAlso, if that was all, then you didnât have to crawl into Anosâ bed for that!â (Sasha)
âMemories drift in dreams. Lyeno Ga Roaz is the Keeper of Dreams, where his order is most effective.â (Arcana)
âA-At least put some clothes on!â (Sasha)
âDirect contact free of all interference is the best way for a god and a mortal to benefit from order.â (Arcana)
