As the Conflagration King finished explaining about magic circles while making exaggerated gestures, and was in the middle of selecting students for immediate training, the bell chimed, signaling the end of class.
âMhm? Class is already over, it seems. Well then, thatâs all for today. Donât forget to review the spell I just taught you. Also, donât you go make a game of casting <Resurrection Ingall> on your friends, okay? With your level of skill in magic, they would just stay dead, after all. KAHAHA!â (Eldmed)
Eldmed left the classroom, cackling out loud and in a good mood.
âAs if he needed to warn us. No oneâs going to do thatâŚâ Sasha retorted as a complaint.
âActually, my head hurts and I feel dizzy. Are you sure this doesnât mean that I was resurrected wrongâŚ?â (Sasha)
During swordsmanship class, Sasha had died twice.
Of course, she was immediately revived via <Resurrection Ingall>.
âThis is probably death sickness. It happens all the time when youâre not used to death. Itâs also a matter of body constitution, but youâll get used to it soon.â (Anos)
ââŚI really donât want to get used to itâŚâ (Sasha)
Sasha plopped down on her desk, looking sick.
Misha walked to her side and gently stroked her head.
âHow come youâre feeling fine, Misha?â (Sasha)
She shook her head in reply.
âThe others feel better than me.â (Misha)
Misha looked up.
Lay, Misa, Eleonore, and Zeshia were looking the same as usual.
âIâm used to dying, after all.â (Lay)
âUm, in my case, well⌠My rumors and lore are about Avos Dilhevia, so I feel completely fine. Not that I have any experience, thoughâŚâ (Misa)
âAs for me, maybe itâs because Iâm good at source magic. And because Iâm the Demon Kingâs magic.â Eleonore said while raising her index finger.
âThat was⌠my first time. I feel⌠fineâŚâ (Zeshia)
Sasha gave the girls a reproachful glare.
âThatâs not fair⌠Is dying a specialty of the HeroâsâŚ?â Sasha asked while standing up.
âSay, anybody wants to go to a cafe? I want to drink something cold and sweet.â (Sasha)
Misha nodded.
âOh yes, count me in. Preferably somewhere that serves alcohol.â Eleonore happily said.
Looks like she was already thinking about what sort of drink she wanted.
âNothing like⌠an after-school drinkâŚâ (Zeshia)
âAhh, youâre still too young to drink, Zeshia. Iâll get you a non-alcoholic cocktail.â (Eleonore)
ââŚI will be⌠patientâŚâ Zeshia said in frustration.
âIs there any shop that serves alcohol at this hour?â Lay asked Misa.
ââŚI donât drink, so I have absolutely no ideaâŚâ (Misa)
Sasha turned her gaze at me.
âAnosh, youâre coming too, right?â (Sasha)
She brought her face close to mine and whispered.
âIf you turn back into Anos and join us, no one will suspect a thing.â (Sasha)
âHmm. Unfortunately, I already have a prior appointment.â (Anos)
âEhâŚ?â (Sasha)
When Sasha gave me a questioning look, a male student in black came over.
It was Ramon.
âLetâs go, Anosh.â (Ramon)
âSure.â I replied, leaving my seat.
âYou see, Iâve received an interesting invitation.â I told the others.
For a moment, Sasha gave Ramon a look of pity.
She immediately whispered to me again.
ââŚAll I can say is that he has all my condolences for inviting youâŚâ (Sasha)
âSee you guys later, then.â I said with a sadistic smile.
Then I walked over to Ramon.
âSo, where are we going?â (Anos)
âThatâs a surprise for when we get there.â Ramon said suggestively.
Which meant he was afraid of mentioning it in class.
By the looks of things, he might even take me to the Resistanceâs hideout.
At the very least, he may give me a chance to meet the remnants of the Royalists.
At that moment, the door rattled open with a bang.
Those who burst in were girls I was familiar with: the eight Fan Union members.
âJ⌠Just in timeâŚ!â Ellen shouted while turning her gaze at the students.
But then, when she saw that no one was standing on the podium, she smiled in embarrassment.
âH⌠Huh? Could it be that weâre too lateâŚ?â (Ellen)
âI donât see the teacher anywhereâŚâ (Fangirl A)
âW-Wait, maybe itâs recess time.â (Ellen)
âAre you sure? If we made it in time, shouldnât this be the last class of the day?â (Fangirl B)
The Fan Union girls were chatting among themselves.
Their official duties were probably prolonged, causing them to arrive late.
I called out to the girls, who were standing there looking puzzled.
âSorry to tell you, but todayâs class just ended a few minutes ago.â (Anos)
âAh⌠I-I see⌠Thanks forââ (Ellen)
As soon as Ellen saw me, she stopped talking and froze.
ââŚA-âŚA-âŚA-⌠ANOS-SAMAAAAAAA?!â she yelled.
âHow come you have turned so cuteâ I mean, so deliciousâ I mean, so mouth-wateringly tempting?!â (Ellen)
âC-Calm down, Ellen! Youâre getting even more disrespectful every time you correct yourself!â (Fangirl A)
âOh no! Umm, please forget what I said. Right! Um, how come you have turned so small?! Also, why are you at the academy?!â (Ellen)
Hmm. Iâm impressed they could tell it was me at glance, even though I had concealed my source.
âSorry, but you got the wrong person. Iâm a transfer student, Anosh Polticoal.â (Anos)
ââŚAnosh PolticoalâŚ? ButâŚâ (Ellen)
The Fan Union girls stared at my face.
As if to say that I was clearly Anos, no matter from what angle.
ââŚâAnosââŚ? âTurned smallââŚ?â Ramon muttered.
Then he glanced at me with suspicion.
Hmm. I had a hunch it wouldnât do me any good if he suspected me. And he may have some reservations about taking me to the Resistance.
Still, there was no need to panic.
Because I had excellent subordinates, after all.
Therefore, I turned my eyes to Sasha, and pleaded with her to do something about this with my eyes.
Though she first responded with an expression telling me that I was asking for too much, she worked her brain at high speed and opened her mouth right after.
âCome on. What are you talking about, Ellen? Do you miss Anos so much youâre mistaking everybody else for him?â (Sasha)
âEhâŚ? AhâŚâ (Ellen)
âAnd remember the other day when you were talking to a bronze statue and calling it âAnos-samaâ? I know you adore Anos, but save that for when youâre at home, at least.â (Sasha)
For an instant, Ellen gasped, as if she had just connected the dots.
âOh no, I did it again!â (Ellen)
Right after that, the other fangirls made fun of her.
âOh boy, Ellenâs Anos-sama deficiency syndrome strikes again.â (Fangirl A)
âTell me about it. Everytime she finds someone or something that even remotely resembles Anos-sama, they all become Anos-sama in her mind.â (Fangirl B)
âEven the other day, she said that the baton of the orchestraâs conductor looked just like Anos-sama.â (Fangirl C)
âWhat part of that even looked like him, silly you!â (Fangirl D)
âB-But itâs just that, Anos-sama doesnât forbid idolatry!â (Ellen)
âWhat kind of logic is that? I can understand idolizing a statue, but you shouldnât idolize other people.â (Fangirl A)
