Chapter 189 : Educational guidance from a swordsmanship instructor
The arena was silent.
The looks on the studentsâ faces were saying that they had witnessed this spectacle somewhere, at some point in the past.
Whether they liked it or not, this had to remind them of the Demon King of Tyranny, who used to be called a misfit.
ââŚHeâs doing pretty wellâŚâ Sasha said in a natural tone of voice, yet loud enough for everyone around to hear.
âI suppose that much was to be expected from a boy genius.â (Sasha)
She sported a smile full of complacency.
âBut he still has some way to go.â (Sasha)
Then she elegantly brushed her two tails back.
With her words and gestures, she was saying that though Anosh was a genius, he was nowhere near the level of the Demon King of Tyranny.
âI⌠I see. What he did just now seemed awfully impressive to me, but from Sasha-samaâs point of view, it was nothing much, thenâŚâ (Student boy A)
âYeah. Here I thought he was just like Anos-sama, but there couldnât possibly be two Demon Kings of TyrannyâŚâ (Student boy B)
âMaybe I should work on my ability to look into the abyss of others.â (Student girl A)
They mustâve thought that it didnât matter how incredible I looked to them since they had yet to look into my abyss and see for themselves. Although, they were incapable of properly measuring my potential to begin with.
For someone who just improvised on the fly, Sashaâs fibbing was pretty effective.
âNo no, this was nothing short of brilliant. As expected of the boy genius, Anosh Polticoal. His skills with a sword and magic just remind me of the Demon King of Tyranny.â Eldmed blurred out without reading the room at all.
Sasha was staring daggers at him in response.
âHuhâŚ? If Eldmed speaks so highly of him, then I guess Anosh-kun is pretty amazingâŚâ (Student girl A)
âSeems like it.â (Student boy A)
When that last student muttered this, Sasha displayed a graceful smile.
âE-Eldmed-sensei is such a flatterer.â she said slowly, probably because she was in the middle of figuring out how to gloss over this situation.
âBut as flawless as he may seem at first glance, his performance is still that of a child.â (Sasha)
Then, all of the students focused their eyes on Sasha.
âSince Sasha-sama said this much, she must have a specific reason for it, right?â (Student boy A)
âSheâs not the kind of person to make any baseless remarks, so maybe thereâs something he didnât do right.â (Student girl A)
âQuietâŚ! I think Sasha-sama is about to explain everything now.â (Student girl B)
âGotta make sure not to miss a word of it.â (Student boy B)
Sashaâs face stiffened somewhat.
After staring at me like she was gazing into my abyss, she opened her mouth.
âHey, Misha. You agree with me, donât you?â (Sasha)
Only to pass the ball to her sister.
Misha blinked in response.
âThe configuration of his spell formula was insufficient. If the activation of the <Resurrection Ingall> spell had been delayed even by a few moments, Ramon might not have been revived.â (Misha)
I used <Resurrection Ingall> exactly three seconds later, and Misha pointed it out as if it was due to my inexperience.
That was a pretty good move.
âAnd I think his swordsmanship is also lacking. The technique he used to ward off that blow was just barely up to par, but thatâs because Ramon attacked so awkwardly. He rushed too fast and just fell flat in a showy manner.â (Lay)
It was simply brute strength, but Lay made things up to convince them otherwise.
That was a daring way to lie.
âThatâs the Demon Swordsmaster for you. His attention to detail is something else. I also thought that there was something wrong with Anoshâs flow of magic power when he cast his spell, but⌠I see. I guess Ramonâs skills were worse than I thought. I hadnât noticed that muchâŚâ (Student boy C)
âSo simply put, Ramon-kun fell down on his own before crashing into the wall and dying?â (Student girl A)
âJust how reckless can he beâŚ?â (Student boy A)
When the students made those remarks, Eleonore immediately followed up.
âCome on, no matter how adorable Anosh-kun is, you canât just charge at him with so much vigor, you know?â (Eleonore)
The students couldnât help but laugh at that.
Even though Ramon looked humiliated, he couldnât move from his spot.
Since he was encased in a wall, and his limbs were completely restrained.
âThat was a pretty good match.â (Anos)
I sent out my magic power and pulled Ramon out of the wall.
When I finally released him from it, he asked.
ââŚI thought you said⌠you werenât too good with swordsâŚâ (Ramon)
âHmm. And youâve seen it for yourself. Thereâs no telling what wouldâve happened if you hadnât gone easy on me.â (Anos)
For a moment, Ramon was staring at me in puzzlement.
âBecause Iâm a transfer student, you were going to let me win so I could take credit for it, right?â (Anos)
ââŚY-Yeah. In a way. So you could tell, huh. If I had gone all out, well, the result mightâve been the opposite of this⌠HahaâŚ!â (Ramon)
Hmm. Amazing how he can take such an attitude even though he just died.
He was a real small fry, through and through.
âSay, you got time after school?â Ramon asked me.
âI do have free time.â (Anos)
âThen stick with me for a bit. Iâll take you somewhere interesting.â (Ramon)
Apparently, he concluded that I was worth something.
Now where was he going to take me?
âI canât wait to be there.â (Anos)
âI just forgot something in the classroom. Iâll go get it.â (Ramon)
With these words, Ramon sneaked out of the arena.
Thanks to the quick thinking of Sasha and the others, the students were no longer interested in me, and they all went back to their sparring matches.
My comrades were also crossing swords with one another.
Sasha paired up with Misha, Eleonore was with Zeshia, and Lay was with Misa. Each pair was practicing.
âHere I come!â (Sasha)
Sasha brought her sword down with all her might.
ââŚNhâŚâ (Misha)
Misha repelled her attack.
Although they were crossing blades with serious expressions on their faces, their swords lacked power.
Compared to their proficiency in magic, Misha and Sashaâs level of swordsmanship was a lot less advanced.
It was such that they still couldnât even handle demon swords.
âHaahâŚ!â (Sasha)
âYah.â (Misha)
The two of them swung their swords at the same time, and brought them down on each other.
However, their blades were blocked by a single cane that was inserted between them.
