âBy the way, um⌠Anos⌠Can I ask you something?â Sasha asked timidly.
âWhat is it?â (Anos)
âSo, um⌠Did I say⌠anything weirdâŚ?â (Sasha)
Since I couldnât grasp the point of her question, she immediately explained.
ââŚS-So I was dreaming⌠I was dreaming, but⌠Right, it was a weird dream, so⌠I was wondering if I hadnât said⌠anything weird in the middle of it.â (Sasha)
âWell, you were indeed saying a lot of gibberish, then you grumbled about not waking up unless I held you. So this is how I woke you up.â (Anos)
Sasha looked relieved, then she tilted her head.
ââŚActually, what made you think that I wanted you to pick me up when I asked you to âhold meââŚ? Iâm not a childââ (Sasha)
As soon as she blurted that out without thinking, Sashaâs mouth fell wide open, and made a face as if she had fallen into a crisis.
Like she had just dug her own grave.
âI didnât think it was all sleep talk. I was so sure that this was how you wanted me to wake you up, but who wouldâve thought this was all because of your dream.â (Anos)
âR-Right! Like you said! A dream! It was all because I was dreaming! Well, not that it was relevant in any way. None at all. By the wayââ (Sasha)
âWhat were you dreaming about?â (Anos)
Sasha was at a loss for words.
ââŚEh? Umm⌠WellâŚâ (Sasha)
âIt mustâve been a really nice dream. You were making quite a happy face.â (Sasha)
Sasha turned bright red and looked away.
âY-Yeah⌠It was a nice dreamâŚâ (Sasha)
âAnd you were calling my name. Was I in your dream too?â (Anos)
Sasha clutched my sleeve.
ââŚYou wereâŚâ (Sasha)
âWhat was I doing in it?â (Anos)
âW-What?!â Sasha shouted in surprise.
âWhatâs wrong?â (Anos)
ââŚNothingâŚâ (Sasha)
I stared at her and noticed her forlorn expression.
âHmm. It seems Iâve asked too much. I guess there are some things youâd rather not share. Then I wonât ask any further.â (Anos)
âAhâŚâ (Sasha)
When I tried to put Sasha down, she clutched my sleeve, as if she didnât want me to put her down.
ââŚYou wereâŚâ she muttered.
âHm?â (Anos)
âYou were⌠carrying me. Just like this.â (Sasha)
When I heard that, I laughed aloud and ruffled her untied golden hair.
âThatâs what you were so stubbornly keeping to yourself? Youâre still such a child.â (Anos)
âSh-Shut up! Who cares, honestly!â (Sasha)
Sasha clung to me tightly.
Misha giggled at the sight.
âJeez, what are you laughing at, Misha?â (Sasha)
âIâm just glad to see you happy, Sasha.â (Misha)
Sasha looked a bit awkward from hearing that.
âKhahaha! I can never tell for sure which one of you is the older sister.â (Anos)
âSasha is the older one.â (Misha)
âThen you should try to act a bit more like a younger sister, Misha.â (Sasha)
Misha tilted her head.
âHow do I do that?â (Misha)
âHowever you can. Like by being lazier than me.â (Sasha)
Misha froze on the spot, as if she didnât know how to respond.
But then she seemed to realize something, and spoke up.
âBeing born second already makes me lazy.â (Misha)
âSure you donât mean âsassyâ?!â (Sasha)
That was a sharp retort.
âUrgh, whatever.â (Sasha)
Sasha was kicking the air, so I put her down on the floor.
Then she drew a magic circle at her feet.
When it went up over her head, her negligee turned into the black uniform of the Demon King Academy.
Sasha finished changing in an instant.
âThatâs a problem.â Misha said while looking up at me.
Apparently, she was bothered by Sasha telling her that she didnât act much like a younger sister.
âWell, I donât think this is anything to worry about.â (Anos)
ââŚIt still bothers meâŚâ (Misha)
âIn that case, why not try to be a little selfish every now and then?â (Anos)
âSelfish?â (Misha)
âMaybe youâll be more like a younger sister that way.â (Anos)
Misha thought about it, then spoke to Sasha.
âIâm sad.â (Misha)
ââŚWh-Whatâs wrong, all of a suddenâŚ?â (Sasha)
Sasha came closer to Misha, looking worried.
âIâm sad that Anos wonât go to class anymore.â (Misha)
âAhâŚâ Sasha exclaimed, as if she had just caught on.
ââŚRight. He wonât⌠Thatâs a good point. But to begin with, now that the truth about him being the Demon KIng of Tyranny has reached all of Dilhade, there would be a huge commotion if he went to class.â (Sasha)
ââŚNhâŚâ (Misha)
âI also feel sad about it, but⌠It canât be helped.â Sasha said, casually taking Mishaâs hand.
âI feel sad for Anos too.â (Misha)
âFor Anos?â (Sasha)
Sasha turned her curious gaze toward me.
âBut heâs already proven that he was the Demon King of Tyranny, so he doesnât really have any reason to attend class anymore, right?â Sasha asked.
âNot necessarily. There was never much reason for me to attend school, but those boring classes werenât so bad. And I got to take them with you guys.â (Anos)
Sashaâs face broke into a happy smile.
âI-Is that soâŚ? Then⌠I guess being finally recognized as the Demon KIng of Tyranny also has its downsides, huhâŚâ (Sasha)
Misha nodded a bit sadly to that.
âCome on, donât be so downhearted. Iâve been making all sorts of arrangements, which all came together today.â (Anos)
âEh? Umm⌠Wait a minute. What are you talking about?â (Sasha)
The two of them gave me puzzled looks.
âIâm talking about me attending the Demon King Academy once again, of course.â (Anos)
âHUH?!â Sasha shouted, as if I had said something absurd.
