The Legendary Rebuilding of a World by a Realist Demon King Chapter 69
The Strategist Kingâs Plan
The matter with Yuri was finished, and I had Fuma Kotaro, a legendary ninja, who would greatly improve my intelligence and strategy abilities.
Of course, this was exactly the kind of thing to make one want to expand.
After all, it was a Demon Kingâs calling.
I did not love war, but it was not something that I could avoid.
Besides, it would be better to unite the world in order for people like Yuri to live in peace.
If there was someone more fitting to be king, I would be glad to help. However, no such holy king had appeared. And the ranks of demon kings were not much better.
âIndeed. It is for you, Master, to lead the world.â
Eve declared.
âThat appears to be the case.â
I replied. Then I called for Hanzo.
This was because Fuma Kotaro was a man of many moods, and was often not present in the castle.
He was always moving and gathering information.
He was the leader of the intelligence team, and Hanzo was his adjutant, but in many ways, it felt like Hanzo was the real commander.
Still, Hanzo saw what Fuma Kotaro was worth in an instant, and so he did not resist being put under his command.
âWe will work hard to become indisposable parts of your army, Demon King.â
He promised.
And it did not take long for him to bring important information.
âDemon King, it is an honor to be in your presence.â
âThese greetings are unnecessary. Now, what information have you brought me?â
âCertainly. We now know the sizes of neighboring demon kingsâ armies.â
âSplendid. So, which of our neighbors is the weakest?â
âDemon King Decarbia, to the south.â
âAh, we passed his borders recently on our way to the dungeon.â
âYes. I believe he is the weakest in this region. An F-Ranker. Weaker than even Eligos.â
âWell, we should be able to manage it then.â
âBut the Ashtaroth army is no great force either. We are probably equaled in strength.â
âI see. Well, I have not been in this world long. My town is still small and so is my army.â
âHowever, you are wise, my Master.â
Eve was quick to point out.
âNumbers usually mean everything. But if we are equal in power, there is a good chance that Master can win.â
âThat may be true, but I prefer to fight enemies that are weaker than me.â
âBut there are no such enemies.â
Hanzo stated flatly.
âIn that case, we will have to make them weaker than us.â
âCertainly. However, how might we accomplish that?â
âThere is a way.â
I stated with conviction.
According to the report, Decarbia was a prominent trading town. Several roads ran near the castle there, and so there was naturally a lot of trading.
âWell, we should be able to weaken them by attacking their income.â
âIs such a thing possible?â
âOf course. However, I will need the help of Gottlieb, the dwarf. Can you call him?â
âCertainly.â
Eve bowed deeply and left the room. Several minutes later, Gottlieb entered.
As he was a ghost, he didnât live in the town, but instead stayed, in the castle.
A small corner of the castle had been remodeled into a workshop. It was there that he developed new weapons and conducted experiments.
With his knowledge of science and my magic, we should be able to create something very interesting.
Gottlieb came in without any sounds of footsteps. Then he grinned.
âDemon King. I hear you have a most amusing idea.â
âAye, you wonât be bored. By the way, Gottlieb. Can you make fake money?â
âDo you mean fake coins?â
âIn plainer words, yes.â
âWell, I could. But either you will get something horrible that is immediately recognizable as fakeâŠor you will have something that costs more to make than real coins.â
âWhy is that?â
âWell, you would normally have to weigh the metal. And so we would have to make coins that are the same weight in order to be seen as real.â
âI see.â
âThere are metals that weigh more than gold, but they are also more expensive. In other words, it would cost more overall.â
âSoâŠthat means I can fool them, as long as the weight is the same for at least a few weeks.â
âThat is, if you can handle the amount of magic it will useâŠâ
âI can. I have material from a Demon King here.â
I said as I produced Eligosâs right eye.
It was sitting in a glass bottle and submerged in liquid.
âI am saying that we can use this to create metal that will be the same weight as gold for a few weeks.â
âAnd then you will plate them in goldâŠâ
Hmm. Gottlieb rubbed his jaw and agreed that it just might work.
If the best technician around said it was possible, then the only thing left to do was to make this convenient metal.
And so I went to the Klein Bottle and tossed in the right eye of Eligos.
Then Eve entered and said,
âWouldnât it have been better to use that material to create something of more value?â
âYes, perhaps I could have summoned gold and treasures, but I have no interest in that. What I want, is his trading town.â
A trading town would continue to bring in riches long after any coins I made here had been spent.
It did not seem like an odd decision to me.
Eve finally understood this and bowed.
âYes, you are right, Master.â
âOf course, there is still no guarantee it will succeed.â
âI am sure that it will.â
Eve said with a smile.
âSuccess isnât always so easy to achieve.â
âYes, but you have not failed once up until now, Master.â
âIndeed. Still, that is not the same thing as a guarantee. I intend to watch over this very carefully until I am sure.â
I put the rest of the materials in and sent magic energy towards the bottle.
This time, I wanted materials, not monsters.
As I knew exactly what I wanted, it was easier than usual.
Besides, this metal did not need to last for very long. It only needed to maintain its shape for several weeks.
And so such demands as creating metal that was the same weight as gold, was simple enough.
Piles of the grey metal rose.
I would melt it all down and create coins that would then be plated in gold.
And with that, I would have my fake money.
As for the actual work, well, it could all be done by the dwarven craftsmen.
In fact, Gottlieb went on to finish it in three days.
âI would expect nothing less of the dwarf lord.â
