[Chapter 9 – Discovery of The First City]

Weed came to Borghese Nice to find Ratzeburg City, where the four races lived together peacefully.

Since Yurin had already seen the place and the butterfly garden, she sent Weed there simply by using [Picture Teleportation].

“There are a considerable amount of people here.”

Weed walked along the plateau while glancing at his surroundings.

Flocks of birds flew around the adventurers and the tourists.

Along the vast Tynus River, Weed’s eye focused on a fisherman casting his fishing rod which was immediately snapped by a fish.

“Whoa, another big fish!”

“Oppa, how many fish have you caught so far?”

“A little over 20.”

Since the crowd of anglers kept growing like crazy, that means the river must be abundant in fish!

The fertile Ilste Plains are cultivated with various grains as the food source of Aidern Kingdom.

When the economy and industry started to develop in Aidern Kingdom, a castle was built in Borghese Nice City.

But in the past 200 years, people migrated and a newer larger castle was built with the old castle turned into a place for travellers to stay.

“Ratzeburg might be somewhere around here.”

Weed walked along the river.

From the memories of the monster raiding a city close to a river, the scenery here had lot of similarities.

“According to my memories, this might really be the place.”

However, compared to the video, the area was covered with sand!

Weed decided to take out his fishing rod.

“This will be a good opportunity to raise my fishing skill.”

Creating a sculpture will attract the people’s attention and it may invite pursuit from Hermes Guild.

Therefore, it’s fishing time.

“Ahjussi, that’s not a good fishing spot.”

A female user kindly advised Weed but he ignored her and cast his fishing rod into the river.

“The fish here are too big for a guy like him to catch.”

The tuna here is so big that the user needs both arms to hold the fishing rod once it caught one.

“I’m gonna eat it once I caught one.  Hmm, I wonder what will I cook with it.”

Even though the fish from the Tynus River is relatively heavy, it is light for a guy like Weed.

To catch a big fish, one needs the right bait. Even if the fish takes the bait, it isn’t guarantee to be caught.

Intermediate Level 5 Fishing allows him to have special baits that can move in the water.

Shaking their tails and creating rustling waves against the river flow, flauntingly attracting the large fish to grab the baits!

It is better than other bait because it attracts larger fish.

At Tynus River, there are many people raising their Fishing Skill diligently.

Even for other people with Intermediate Level 3 Fishing skill, catching big fish without being completely exhausted was rare. However, it was not a problem for Weed who could do it even without spending much stamina due to his Advanced level 8 Handicraft and high strength.

It was because during the few days at the sea, he increased his Fishing Skill proficiency to almost level 6.

At night, Tynus River is crowded with more anglers.

Therefore, Weed had no choice but to hide and dig the ground secretly.

“Ruin, ruin, come to me. I hope it is filled with expensive items.”

There must be some remains of Ratzeburg City left behind. Something special!

Certainly, Weed was doing this not just for of the quest  but also for the money. Weed’s eyes grew bloodshot.

Weed hid in the dark of the night, and secretly digging underground, deepere and deeper.

Because of all the mining he did in Jigolath, it improved his digging.

“Nothing would be more boring than levelling Mining and Fishing.”

The path full of suffering and boring repetitive actions, just for a couple of levels!

In Jigolath he kept digging and carrying blocks of ore, now he is digging the ground with only a fluorescent light for company.

Between the bush and the sand he dug, water from the river was spilling.

At least Ratzeburg is a good location for fishing, he didn’t have to compete with other people at Tynus River.

He could just cast his fishing rod through the spot of spilling water whilst continuing to dig.

It was an excellent opportunity to train both mining and fishing!

“Being a sculptor, I need to be versatile in any situation.”

And then when it was almost afternoon, by chance, unexpectedly Weed felt like something caught the fishing rod.

“Is it..a. fish?”

It doesn’t feel too stiff, but it doesn’t feel like it is a living thing either.

In situation like this, other experienced fisher might already accidentally cut the fishing line, but Weed carefully took about 10 minutes to reel it in.

With his handicraft skill and handmade fishing line that’s better than the one sold in the market, it is not impossible for him.

“Just a stone hammer, but if it can increase certain skill, it is a special item. Identify!”

“Unbelievable!”

Weed is expecting something decent as a remains from Ratzeburg. If he was another person, the hammer would already been thrown out, but for Weed, every japtem is valuable.

During the day, he continued fishing hoping to retrieve some good artifacts.

Instead of directly fishing in Tynus River, something unexpected might come out when fishing in Ratzeburg!

Most of them were useless items, but sometimes he retrieved something manufactured by the dwarfs.

“Come on, I’m not digging for nothing.”

In the day, he cast his fishing road while looking at the sky and laughing.

And at night, he was digging the ground while humming.

“Money will come out if I keep digging. A fortune that’ll belong to me. I will become rich overnight!”

In the ground, he felt like he was in a grave, feeling like a tone-deaf man. It was almost completely silent except for the constant monotonous sound of the flowing river. Weed keept humming to rid himself of this feeling.

“The first city huh , there must be a bunch of valuable stuff buried under. Or maybe, I will discover a tomb that is filled with gold and jewels……..”

The dreams of a grave robber!

But in reality, he didn’t really expect much.

After several days digging the ground, dealing with sand, rock and wet soil, there were no signs of any treasure he wished.

Nevertheless, Weed didn’tgive up and his greed for treasure from the tombs kept growing.

And then, he discovered a sculpture made of stone!

Although its arms and legs were falling apart, it was clearly a sculpture of an orc.

“Identify!”

Weed used [Sculptural Memories].

“This time we are able to defeat the monster as well. Thanks to you I’m not in any grave danger.”

“Chwi ik! Don’t mention it, it’s my duty. Chwik. I’m Ulchwi, a proud warrior of orc, it is only natural for me to do so. Chwichis.”

“I heard you had another child, is it true?”

“Yes, his big head resembles mine a lot, I’m truly happy,chwi chwi chis!”

“Ulchwi, the sculpture of your seventh child is finished. Come and take it at my shop house.”

Some scars and tattoos can be seen on the body of orc Ulchwi, who was looking for a sculpture.

There were sculptures of big orcs and young orcs.

With their habit of regularly going to battle, it was normal for them to enter the battlefield and never came back.

The humans and orc Ulchwi were very friendly towards each other.

After chatting for a couple of minutes, they separated to their own ways, and Ulchwi headed for his house.

Since orc frequently mobilized into battle, they lived near the edge of the city.

“Welcome back, chwi chwi chwis!”

A female orc came out of the door and greet him. When she saw his face and heard his voice, she was extremely excited. Ulwchi hugged her and entered the house. With thirteen children, Ulcwhi’s family was a quite large family, even for an orc.

The house was decorated with decent furniture, and various sizes of sculptures were lined up to the right and left side of the door.

Human and elves built their home in the middle of the city, since they were responsible for taking care of the crops.

The dwarves built the city defence and made weapons for the orcs to use later.

And the orcs who lived at the edge of the city, devoted themselves to protect them all against invading monsters.

For the sake of protecting their human, elf and dwarf companions, they never retreated from battle even when the battle gets tough.

Ulchwi opened a door to a room full of sculptures, each one of them represented his family members.

Being in the line of duty, one or two of his family members never returned.

In the room, the sculptures kept piling up.

Under the protection of orcs, the city was safe. In the meantime, the humans, dwarves and elves had enough space to develop themselves.

The humans, not just good in farming, also learnt how to use the weapons.

Since their childhood, they observed the orcs fighting. Even though they didn’t have strong combat capabilities of an orc, they never stopped trying to overcome their weakness. At one point, they learned how to utilize their mana.

The elves made bows, established relationships with elemental spirits, and no longer needed the protection provided by the orcs.

Dwarves developed defence and weapons particular for themselves. With the exceptionally sharp weapons and sturdy defence, they were no longer afraid of the monsters.

Later, each race started to think inconveniently of each other.

“Humans does not respect us. chwichwi chwis!”

“The orcs were eating too much. What’s the point of raising crops if all of it ended up in orc’s belly. If this keeps up, the food will be in sufficient.”

“The other races don’t understand the great power of nature. How long we elves have to wait patiently for them to understand this?”

“They don’t even know what made the equipment better. Without dwarves’ ability to handle metal, there wouldn’t be any equipment for farming and for battle.

Damn it! And when they made equipment, it is so bad it is not even considered as equipment. What they’ve don’t, it is an insult!”

The four races started to treat each other with hostility.

Orcs were the first race to leave the city.

Because of their excellent fertility, continued living in one place would lead to overpopulation.

The places far away from Ratzeburg were full of monsters, but orcs were brave enough to find a place as a new settlement.

Not long after the orcs left, the elves headed into the woods.

The humans and dwarves remained with each other for a while, since they still in need for each other.

But when the dwarves blacksmith’ technique became more developed and they needed a lot of mineral to polish their technique, the dwarves headed into the mountains.

Since the elves left, the crop production declined to less than half, and the humans had difficulty for a while.

When they applied what they already learned from the elves, they managed to restore the crop production.

To prepare themselves for the invading monster, by utilizing the dwarves’ wall technology, they built themselves a fortress.

In the end, only human race lived in the Ratzeburg City.

But not for long, the remains left by dwarves, elves and orcs made humans feel uncomfortable.

Eventually, the humans also left Ratzeburg City to build another kingdom.

The first city, where the four races used to lived together was then abandoned!

In a period of several decades, the Tynus River overflowed and Ratzeburg City was swept away by the flood. And from that, the fertile Great Ilste Plains was formed.

However, the flood damage was greater than ever.

The buildings in the abandoned city begun to collapse indiscriminately.

The stones and trees were swept into the waterway, and remained deep in the ground.

The building and the remains of Ratzeburg were eroded  by the rain and the river. Finally, what left of Ratzeburg City was buried in the sand and disappeared in the past.

The sculpture representing Ulchwi’s seventh child was buried under a large stone.

“The reward for Master Sculptor Quest is quite considerable.”

Weed’s level is now 400. Despite the enormous experience he gained from the reward, he only rose by two levels.

When he defeated Lich Shire and his Undead Legion, since his level was lower, his level rose more than 10 at once.

“This is not the entire reward of the Master Sculptor Quest. If the intermediate reward is this good, I wonder what will I get for finishing the quest?”

A heartwarming smile spread over his mouth revealing his tooth.

Ratzeburg City is already discovered, so whoever doing Master Sculptor Quest later will not get this reward.

The reward is only available for the first person doing the Sculptor Master Quest.

“I am step ahead of the others. When there is snow falling and I walk on them, I will leave my footprints, and it will guide other people behind me.”

Weed’s words are considerably honourable, but his real attention was completely different.

‘It is good to be one step ahead, I will grab everything. Follow me, and when you catch up, the party’s already over.’

The adventurers who go out early are able to obtain exclusive quests and the treasures!

Since Ratzeburg City was discovered, Weed contacted Yurin who sent him to the elf village.

In the Pabeura Village of Forest of Life, a battle against Hermes Guild’s raid party broke out.

The powerful raid team from Hermes Guild supposed to sweep the entire village within short period of time.

But due to activation of Magical Enchantment in the elf village, the battle keept dragging on for hours as the spirits of the forest and the trees joined the battle.

The involvement of the monsters and animals from the forest gave the raid party a hard time.

The elves warrior from Forest of Life also arrived to defeat the intruders.

The arrows and elemental magic launched by elves threw Hermes Guild’s raid party further into disarray.

As a matter of fact, the elves of Pabeura Village had the upper hand, since the terrain advantage were on their side.

The users couldn’t hide their discontent with the current event.

“Darn. Of all places, Hermes Guild is here.”

“Is  Kallamore Kingdom waging war against the elves?”

“This is really my unlucky day. You really, really don’t want to mess with Hermes Guild. We’d better hustle up and leave this place.”

Weed enter the village through the entrance and passed through the defending elf warriors. He couldn’t help but feel amazed and awed by the elf warriors, who were able to defend against Hermes Guild and forcing them to retreat.

“Ratzeburg City is discovered, and no longer lost from history. The memories embedded within this sculpture are the evidence.”

Weed presented his report to Elder Delia.

“Marvellous, just marvellous! To think that the long lost history would be recovered.”

Elder Delia observed what he obtained from Ratzeburg, including stone hammer, copper shield, crushed arrowhead, bowl pottery and the sculpture.

There is a lot of thing, but not everything had historical meaning.

“To find and recovered Ratzeburg City, and to even teach me something I don’t know, you deserve a rewards…..”

Weed let out a sigh.

He is really hoping that the reward isn’t the fruits from Delia’s backyard again.

Even the rewards from the kings or the representatives of the race are better.

“I would like you to have this map.”

“I’m really grateful, I will treasure it.”

For Weed, the reward was good enough.

Without elf guidance, it is almost impossible to know the exact safe route to the exact resourceful location.

If he is planning to venture here someday, the map will prove to be helpful to him.

“However, this broken orc sculpture is too pitiful.”

As Elder Delia observed the broken old sculpture, he couldn’t help but feel sympathy and regret towards it.

“Now we know and believe the truth of Ratzeburg City.

If you can repair this sculpture to its original form again, it can be a great gift for the orcs.”

“I will inform the orcs about Ratzeburg.”

All of the residents of the Versailles Continent began talking about the recent event.

“Have you heard? Humans, elves, dwarves and the savage orcs lived together in the past.”

“Due to the recent discovery, the whole history is being re-written. Do you know about it?”

Sculptor Weed found out about this during his adventure! ”

“This discovery, Weed did it again!  I don’t think there is really anything that can’t be solved by Weed. But I don’t think this will just end here, the quest isn’t completed yet.”

The users started talking about his progress and achievement in his Master Quest. They couldn’t hide their amazement and envy.

“Hm, is it really that great?”

“I think this quest is really a big event. It is not just human, even elves, dwarves and orcs are talking about this.”

“Weed will gain a lot of reputation from the four races.”

It is true, and not just his reputation with the four races is improved, the relationship between the four races is also improved.

“Normally I will only entrust this to a fellow dwarves, but I don’t really mind now. Will you find back the seven swords that were lost?”

“Lately, there is a lot of monsters roaming in the forest. It will be really helpful if a human can aid us. If you fulfill this request, there will be rewards for you and you won’t regret it for helping.”

As the friendship between the races improved, higher quests were now generated.

It was very hard to get quests from elves, since they open only among themselves. Orcs and dwarves were no exception, since they are too proud and ego to ask help from other race.

But due to the recent event, the quests are available even to different races.

For Weed, it doesn’t affected him much, since he can easily acquire those quests due to his high fame.

So he didn’t gain much benefit, but it gave significant change to the other users.

The residents continued to talk.

“Weed surprisingly found the city where the four races lived together and had reported to His Majesty, the King of Aidern Kingdom. As a reward, the King of Aidern gave him the King’s Sword, offered an important position in Aidern Kingdom and recognized Weed’s rule over Morata.”

“After he finished, the royals were personally sending Weed off. He rode a wyvern and beautifully flew away. What a wonderful scene ……. absolutely melts the people’s heart!

If only I wasn’t baking bread at that moment, I could’ve seen him off.”

“Bakuma Kingdom, Hareugwan Kingdom and  Britten Alliance’s Kings were also visited. He obtained various rewards for reporting his discoveries.”

“Have you heard? Weed went back to Ritten Kingdom. He made a sculpture of His Majesty and became acquainted with him. In Weed’s recent visit, not just The King, The Queen and The Prince, but every family member asked Weed to make a sculpture of theirs, and also a sculpture of the whole family.”

“Again, Weed surprised us with various adventures throughout the continent. He made sculptures for the whole royal family of Ritten Kingdom. Then, every other king followed suit.”

For a long time, Yellowy got to enjoy his freedom and hang out around Morata.

He is a well made bull with noble and proud horns, and deliciously made muscle.

Combined with his strength, appearance and height, it was a majestic figure.

” Eummeoeoo!”

Yellowy walking around, licking his body with his tongue and revealing his eye that filled with every cow’s dream.

Since Yellowy’s life was granted by Weed, cattle breeding rate in Morata skyrocketed.

It can be said that now, even the younger female cows can get pregnant since Yellowy was around.

“People said that the world is a beautiful place. Now I understand what they’re talking about.”

With his four feet, Yellowy confidently roamed Morata’s streets.

He is considered the king among the bulls.

Sometimes, the male bull coming to challenge his position.

Anywhere he went, he always accepted the challenge.

Bullfighting was a match where the cow can fight head to head!

The clash of the horns and the head, the cows pushed their opponent.

With his high vigorous stamina and strength, he always won the Bullfighting matches. He never experienced even a single defeat!

‘This is all thanks to Master.’

But the real reason why Weed created a strong bull was to carry heavy loads.

“I’m doing well.”

And no matter if it is raining or sunny day, Yellowy never missed hunting.

He remembered when Weed occasionally returned to Morata, he drags Yellowy and some other cows into the alley.

The cows had a bullfighting match while Weed stood back and watched.

“I’ll keep winning and Yellowy wanted to meet Weed.. This is the opportunity to increase my popularity among the cow!”

Every time he had a Bullfighting match, he will turn his head around, as if he still heard the sounds of Weed cheering for him.
