Chapter 61 Recruitment
After Nick Fury received the information on H.Y.D.R.A. bases, he dispatched Natasha to scout out those locations. He would contact his comrades in the army after validating the information.
Naturally, he would not expose matters of Leo. Instead, he told them it was his subordinates who coincidentally discovered the H.Y.D.R.A. bases and he sought assistance from them due to S.H.I.E.L.D. being underhanded.
No one would reject a free meal. Thus, Fury and the U.S. Military reached an agreement and began the elimination of H.Y.D.R.A. bases.
Soon after the operation began, the two bases exposed by Leo were surrounded in silence.
“Sir, every team is in position. Please give your order.”
“Move out!”
Even though the two bases had armed forces, it was incomparable to the U.S. Military. The two bases were seized promptly leaving the ruins of war behind.



Hell’s Kitchen, 9:00 a.m. in front of the El Building.
Leo along with Bucky, Ol’ Tom, Matt, and Foggy together stood in front of the company holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the company.
Matt, Foggy, and Bucky were forced by Leo to put up a front while Ol’ Tom willingly did so.
There were no reporters and cameramen around. There were only thirty-two members of the Black Fist Gang divided into two rows standing straight witnessing the entire process.
Leo stood in the center, Matt and Foggy stood on one side while Bucky and Ol’ Tom were on another side. Leo held the scissors and was preparing to cut the red ribbon in front of him.

A system notification popped out in front of Leo out of the blue. His hand paused for a moment before continuing.
This was the first time Matt met Bucky without his disguise. He had butterflies in his stomach fearing Bucky would recognize him. Moreover, he was the only one who noticed Leo’s abnormality with his extraordinary sense.
Matt was worried Leo would go back against his word and told Bucky his identity. Therefore, he asked nervously, “Mr. Erwin, are you alright?”
Leo did not expect Matt to be this keen and gave a random answer, “It’s nothing. I just recalled the bright future of this company and was overwhelmed by it. I’m cutting the ribbon now, let’s give applause!”
Followed by the scissors cutting the red ribbon, the thirty-two witnesses applauded enthusiastically.
After the ceremony ended, all of the witnesses returned to being volunteer guards and they went back to their position. Bucky and Ol’ Tom bid farewell before they went back to doing their stuff.
Leo held Matt and Foggy back and led them to the conference room on the first floor.
In the conference room, Matt was anxious while Foggy was puzzled as they wondered why Leo was looking for them.
The company had opened however it was lacking in personnel. Thus, he wanted to discuss matters about recruitment with them!
However, Leo knew Matt was as stubborn as a mule and had excessive pride. So, he chose to speak with Foggy instead of Matt.
“Mr. Nelson, as you can see our company had just opened. Whether it’s purchasing equipment or hiring people, they all require a contract. Although there are pre-made contract templates, I hope El Tech Company has its legal department to provide assistance.
Therefore, I wish to employ you and Mr. Murdock as El Tech Company’s legal advisors and assist me in forming a legal department.”
After listening to Leo’s request, Matt immediately replied before Foggy had the chance to.
“Mr. Erwin, both of us have our law firm to run. It just opened for business and we can’t leave it alone.”
Leo ignored Matt as he looked at Foggy and added, “You can work for a half-day shift whether it’s morning or afternoon every day. I will give you an annual salary of fifty thousand dollars.”
Foggy’s eyes lit as according to what Leo spoke, Nelson-Murdock Law Firm could continue its business and both of them could receive a salary that was way beyond most of the full-time workers.
Foggy ignored Matt who was poking him with the guide stick. He was overjoyed as he reached both of his to grab Leo’s right hand and said, “Mr. Erwin, we shall accept this job. On behalf of Matt, we are happy to join El Tech Company!”
“Then, both of you can begin working tomorrow. First, you need to set rules and regulations for the company. I’m sure it’s a piece of cake for you.”
Leo took a thick envelope and handed it to Foggy, “This is the payment for helping me apply El Building’s deed. It’s not much but please accept it.”
This time, Matt did not poke Foggy with his guide stick. Instead, he lowered his head as if deep in thoughts.
Foggy was unaware of Matt’s expression. He looked at the envelope Leo gave and hastily waved his hand, “Mr. Erwin, we can’t accept this. You had paid us enough money, the deal between us was a done deal.”
Matt finally revealed a smile and poked Foggy with his guide stick indicating to Foggy that it was time to return. Leo stopped Foggy and uttered with a smile, “Since you don’t want it, then, I won’t force it. However, I still had a request for both of you. As you can see, our El Tech Company had just opened and was underhanded. Some simple chores could be handled by Hell’s Kitchen’s local workforce. But what El Tech Company lacks right now are talents. Since you are going to graduate from Columbia University soon, I hope you can hire a couple of talents from there for me. I wonder if it’s possible?”
The “local workforce” stirred Matt as he immediately answered, “Since we joined El Tech Company, naturally we will give it our all. Now the company did not have a recruiting team, we can act as H.R. in the meantime. Don’t worry Mr. Erwin, we will do our best to pick some excellent people.”
Leo handed the envelope to Matt this time and added, “Since that’s the case, this money will be the funds for this project. Go and buy yourself a couple of nice outfits and some tools for recruitment. We need to give our company a good impression. Furthermore, you can search for Ol’ Tom to ask some guards to assist you.”
Matt did not decline the envelope and threw it to Foggy for him to keep it.
Leo continued, “Time is ticking, so both of you return today and come up with a recruitment plan. Let me have a look tomorrow and we’ll discuss the details. The sooner it gets done, the better.”
Matt nodded and stood with Foggy and bid farewell. Leo saw both of them out to the car with a smile.

Another system notification appeared all of a sudden. Leo had experienced it before and this time he read the message without changing his expression before closing it.
The mission completion rate increased twice. It should mean that two H.Y.D.R.A. bases were destroyed by Nick Fury.
Two bases had been destroyed and it increased the completion rate by 6%. From the looks of it, it would reach 69% when all twenty-three bases in America were wiped out.
However, there were almost two hundred bases across the globe. Were the bases in other countries unimportant compared to the ones in America?!
Moreover, the spies within the S.H.I.E.L.D. should compromise a massive part of the completion rate!
