Chap 22. The Heroine Had an Affair With My Fiancé
The startled Reynos stammered out an explanation.
“Um, lady, I didn’t mean to sneak in.”
As he did so, he stopped talking. It seemed strange for him to say. If this isn’t sneaking, what is?
‘I have all these weird dreams.’
I regarded this situation as a dream.
That’s because the window behind him was not large enough for an adult man to enter.
I only exchanged letters with Reynos when he said he was working these days, and I seemed to dream of this because I missed him.
I tapped the bed with no energy.
“Your Highness.”
Reynos flinched as he opened the window and tried to escape. I hit the bed again.
Since he’s here, I should see his handsome face.
“Come here.”
“…”
“It’s because I can’t see well.”
“…”
However, no matter how much I pounded on the bed, Reynos could not even move on the spot.
Instead, he shook his head as if he wanted to become one with the window and gradually moved away.
I mean, lucid dreams usually work out the way you want them to.
What’s wrong with him?
It was sad that I was sick even in the dream, but I was annoyed when he didn’t even listen to a word I said. I got angry, banging the bed with my hand.
“Oh, come here!”
The flinched Reynos approached cautiously. He made a series of excuses.
“Um, my lady, I didn’t come here with bad intentions.”
Coming close to the bed, he wrapped himself around his mouth and lowered his gaze obliquely to the floor. I couldn’t see well because it was dark, but his face seemed red.
“I was worried about my lady. Just to see your face for a moment, how sick you are…”
“Aha.”
I tapped the bed again as if to tell him to sit down, with a soulless chorus.
Then he finally sat down on the bed. He managed to drop his body to the maximum outward angle to widen the distance from me.
It was an inconvenient position, but I was not merciful enough to care about the characters in my dream.
He was a little far away, but I also had the satisfaction of seeing his handsome face clearly.
So we continued the dialogue in that state.
“How did you get here?”
“I flew. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to wake you up, I just wanted to see your face for a second.”
“You flew here? Are you a wizard?”
“Uh… um. I’m not a wizard, but I can fly.”
I imagined for a moment that Reynos was flying in the sky. Then I immediately frowned.
Running around with a sword is one thing, but fluttering around in the sky really doesn’t suit him. So I demanded of Reynos.
“Show me.”
“Here?”
“Yes.”
“Ah…”
Reynos was taken aback by my firm answer.
“It’s a little difficult right now.”
“Why?“
“Well, I need to be prepared.”
“You can’t do it here?”
“It’s not that.”
Reynos’ long eyelashes went down pitifully.
Well, he must be in a lot of trouble.
Although it was a dream, I didn’t want to see him in trouble. I was going to ask him to show it to me later-
“Cough.”
A sudden cough came out. As a result, the sick woman became a bird that seemed to leave a will.
“Later, cough, please, cough, show me… Cough. Cough, I missed y… Cough.”
“Lady!”
Forgetting that the freaked Reynos was in and out, he reached out to me. He was at a loss of what to do, such as measuring the heat on my forehead, measuring the temperature of my cheek with the back of his hand, and holding my hand out of the blanket.
“What’s the matter, are you okay?”
“Yes, cough, I’m okay, cough, flying, cough, I really want to see you, cough, cough-“
“I’ll show you. I’ll show you, so stop talking!”
Coughing, I nodded my head, croaking.
Reynos stood by me until my cough was gone. Then, when I felt somewhat calmed down, he bit his lips and grabbed my hand carefully.
And whispered in secret.
“Lady. You know I’m turning into an evil dragon, right?”
“Yes.”
“Whoo.”
Reynos, who covered my face half with one hand, exhaled deeply.
“Why did I say I flew over?” He looked regretful.
“I really don’t want to lie to my lady. And- I want to do it this time.”
“…?”
“That’s why… a little more.”
“Did you turn into an evil dragon and fly here?”
“… Yes.”
Could that be controlled on its own? In the original, I heard that only Tyriel could do it?
I opened my eyes wide and rolled them. After a while, as I did so, I changed my mind again like a sleepy person.
It took too much of my strength to be surprised all the time. And since it was a dream, I thought it would be different from the original.
This was not all in my imagination anyway. It doesn’t make sense for Reynos to be here at this hour.
Reynos swept his face dry as if in distress. Then, at a certain moment, he wrapped his face in his hands and did not move.
After standing still in that state, as if thinking about something, he finally made a decision and with a deep breath, he lowered his hands.
“… Um, don’t be too surprised.”
“Yes.”
I stared at Reynos, straining my eyes that were about to close.
No way would the house collapse just because Reynos turned into an evil dragon. This is a dream.
“If you’re scared, tell me that you’re scared.”
“Yes.”
Even though he answered immediately, Reynos still had eyes that something was bothering him.
He muttered, avoiding my gaze, as I blinked, asking why.
“I hope you don’t try to distance yourself from me because you’re scared. And the wait is now…”
“I like dragons. My dream has been to meet a dragon since I was young.”
My head hurt, but I went to sleep again with the sole intention of seeing him as soon as possible. Then Reynos seemed puzzled again but squinted his eyes with a look that said he had no choice.
And gently rolled up.
There was a glistening blackness. For a moment, his body was enveloped in blackness, and then, perchance, it disappeared. No, to be precise, his body disappeared and his clothes fell on the bed.
“Huh?”
As described in the original book, I was puzzled to imagine a dragon the size of a citadel.
Where did he go? Did he run away because I urged him too much? No matter how much, he left his clothes behind. It wasn’t like a lizard to cut off its tail and run away.
That’s when it happened.
Something moved inside Reynos’s clothes. Then something the size of my two palms combined, covered in black scales, came flying out of his clothes. Then it cried out cautiously.
-Piiik.
“…”
-Piik.
“…”
I was momentarily speechless.
As I stared at him, Reynos, the baby evil dragon, also stopped talking.
Then he turned his head backward, crawled into his clothes, quickly poked his head out, and began to roll his red eyes to look at me.
In the second half of the original story, when Reynos turned into an evil dragon due to Tyriel’s mistake, how was it described?
[An ominous black light covered the body of the suffering Reynos.
The black light spread through the air like paint on water. As it did so, it gradually expanded in size, and soon became so large that it could cover even the castle of the empire- and disappeared for a moment.
The being that had once been Reynos in the middle of it appeared as a mass of misery.
Its red eyes, devoid of reason, glittered.
Its skin, covered with pitch-black scales, looked so hard that none of it could be opened.
Even his simple breath was strained. One or two weak life forms nearby fainted and passed out.
Even the sun crept into the dark clouds under the pressure of his intimidation.
-Keuwoooo.
The evil dragon cried loudly as if to inform the world that it was back.
It was the beginning of a horrific apocalypse.]
… I’m sure it was that.
-Ppiiiiik.
What is this lovely creature?
I forgot to blink and stared into his ruby-red eyes. The little thing was invariably just a button on my pajamas.
Since I did not say anything, Reynos, who had been watching my face, had recently disappeared into his clothes. Ah.
I knew I couldn’t just let him disappear. So I said anything once before he was all gone.
“Your Highness?”
-… Piiiiik.
“Can’t you speak like that?”
-Piiik.
Reynos nodded. Then he tried to hide underneath his clothes.
I reached out reflexively and grabbed him by the neck. I know it’s a vital point, but I couldn’t help it because it was the only place to catch him.
-Piiiiiiiik!
Oh, I think I grabbed him too hard.
The strangled Reynos screamed. I hurriedly pulled him out of his clothes and let him go.
