As a result of thinking too much before bedtime, Wen Mingyu had a nightmare related to Mu Zhan. As expected, the man really is so worthy that Wen Mingyu thinks about him during the day, and even then appears in his dreams during the night.
In his dream, he was in his form, a droopy-eared rabbit, and he was confined in a golden cage carved with exquisite floral patterns. It looks very sophisticated and flamboyant.
He confusedly surveyed his surroundings, patted the bars with his paws, turned around to find the door cage and attempted to escape. However, the door wouldn’t budge at all. On the contrary, he spotted a tall silhouette approaching.
It was Mu Zhan.
His hand arrived at the cage and lifted it up. His eyes that fixedly stared at Wen Mingyu was dim, he then said with a sneer, “Trying to flee. How about I lock you up, and let’s see how you can still run?”
Wen Mingyu was appalled to know that his escape was unsuccessful and was even made to reveal his original rabbit form.
Mu Zhan carried him to the bedside. On the path, Wen Mingyu’s body swayed with the cage. Hanging mid-air, it was high enough that it scared the rabbit. He clung wimpily onto the bars with his paws, and his snow-white scut quivered slightly.
Alongside the bed was a low couch where a plate of strawberries was placed. The strawberries were flushed red and plump, emitting a tempting fragrance.
The strawberries were not far from Wen Mingyu, and he could not help but extend his claws to grab them, but the short paws couldn’t reach them. He could only lean between the space of the bars and gazed at the strawberries one by one, looking pitiful and adorable.
“Eager to eat so badly?”
Mu Zhan’s voice rang above his head.
Wen Mingyu nodded his head with vigor. Mu Zhan picked a strawberry and delivered it to him. Since Wen Mingyu was a droopy-eared rabbit at this moment, his palms were almost the size of a strawberry, so he needed to hold them with two paws to eat.
He bit down and the juice spilled. His tiny tongue licked and sucked off the juice that was still flowing, then gleefully nibbled the pulp into his mouth, and soon finished the strawberry.
Mu Zhan who was sitting beside him, was resting his chin on his hand while watching the rabbit gnawing the fruit to nothing then handing over a fresh, plum strawberry. After eating three consecutively, Wen Mingyu had a contented face, hunger was satiated, and his stomach was a bit bulging.
Mu Zhan reached out and gently massaged his little tummy. He curled his lips and meaningfully said, “Satisfied? In that case, it’s my turn now.”
Wen Mingyu just ate and was sluggish. He blankly stared at him and didn’t understand what he was saying just now. In the next second, he saw Mu Zhan opening the cage, pinched the back of his neck, and lifted him out.
He was placed on the center of Mu Zhan’s palm and once he raised his head, he met Mu Zhan’s eyes. His profound eyes were as black as ebony, and his intense paranoid emotions spread wildly, as if a starving predatory animal was staring at its long-awaited prey. He was unable to conceal his burning desire to tear him down and eat him into his stomach.
…….. ! ! !
Wen Mingyu got goosebumps, so terrified that all the fur on his body puffed up and he directly woke up from the shock.
He snapped his eyes open, and was confronted with a handsome, pale face.
Mu Zhan.
As quick as lightning, Wen Mingyu simply thought he was still in his nightmare and actually didn’t wake up; that he was still locked up by Mu Zhan.
The back of his head was cold, and any minute now he might get a cardiac arrest.
“I will now left for the court and you are still not awake. You slept quite well.” Mu Zhan sat on the edge of the bed. He leisurely said it while he coolly looked at him.
Wen Mingyu finally became sobered. He blinked his eyes twice, rose himself from the bed, pulled his lapel close, and braced himself to deal with the tyrant. He curled his lips and smiled, “Many thanks to His Majesty’s grace, I slept so peacefully with you in mind and heart.”
Mu Zhan’s countenance remained unchanged, “Is that so? Dreaming about this one, yet you just look like you had a nightmare. Is this one in your dream very scary?”
Wen Mingyu chuckled and thought that it wasn’t exactly terrible. Watching him like he was a braised rabbit meat in soy sauce. If he woke up a little later, he guessed that even his bones wouldn’t remain.
Due to Wen Mingyu not answering for a certain time as if he was acquiescing to this statement. Mu Zhan’s expression sank and he became irritable and impatient.
Fortunately at this moment, Wen Mingyu also thought of a good way to say his rainbow farts. He shook his head solemnly, and his eyes full of sincerity said, “Of course not, there was something scary in the dream, Your Majesty was majestic-looking and had a heroic posture when he saved me from the fire and water, and I no longer felt afraid. When I opened my eyes and saw His Majesty, I was immediately at ease.”
Mu Zhan didn’t speak a word, but the hostile aura surrounding him has subsided a lot. He seemed to be quite satisfied with what he said.
Wen Mingyu noticed.
As they got along, Wen Mingyu slowly figured out some of Mu Zhan’s temperament. If he speaks presumptuously and spoke insolent words to the tyrant, the tyrant is not angry at all and will not kill him. On the other hand, if he trembles and shows a face of fear, the tyrant’s expression will be grim and frightening, and his aura will worsen.
It was quite strange that the emperor, as the most honorable one in ninety-five and as the man sitting on the throne, shouldn’t the others be in awe and hold veneration to the emperor? Or is it that more people are afraid of him and desire something different?
Either way, Wen Mingyu could be considered to have caught a little way to cope with the tyrant and blew some rainbow farts. In any case, no matter what the situation is, complimenting is needed on the right, praising on the left, and boasting can smoothen the mood.
However, it is not easy to face the tyrant with such a powerful aura. It was brilliant that Wen Mingyu smiled sweetly every time they met. Yet in fact, his legs underneath were trembling. Now that he just woke up from a nightmare, he was shaking even more. In order not to be found, he had to repress it down.
He also doesn’t know whether Mu Zhan discovered it or not. He hoped it wasn’t the case.
Mu Zhan dressed neatly and sat on the edge of the bed, while Wen Mingyu was still laying on the bed, with a brocade quilt covering his waist. He felt uncomfortable since he’s still in his thin bedclothes.
Wen Mingyu pursed his lips and coyly smiled, revealing a small dimple on one side. It looked a little bashful and adorable.
“I have not yet washed and changed, so it is really impolite in front of His Majesty. If Your Majesty can……”
The words were not yet complete, but the underlying meaning was very clear. He was driving Mu Zhan out.
Mu Zhan heard it, but did not comply with the words said. He instead reached out and rested his hand on the back of Wen Mingyu’s neck and gently pressed it together, meaningfully fondled for a while, and then squeezed it after.
“It was just a dream, and you are scared into such a state. How delicate.”
Wen Mingyu was in a stunned state, and was not even listening to what Mu Zhan was saying. The reason for his abnormality was that an Omega’s gland is at the back of the neck. In the interstellar era, this is a hidden and special part that only extremely dear people can touch. Mu Zhan kneaded his fingers on it and he immediately grasped all of Wen Mingyu’s attention and thoughts on that part. He felt numb and strengthless, his body trembling uncontrollably.
He reflexively wanted to retract his neck, attempting to evade Mu Zhan’s hand. But Mu Zhan’s grip on his neck was firm and strong, and the hand that was slowly caressing the bank of his neck was like a venomous snake, slithering dangerously. This made people dare not to move.
Mu Zhan caressed for a long time and after that, withdrew his hand and got up to leave.
Wen Mingyu sat on the bed for a lengthy period of time, unable to regain his senses. His heart was beating extremely fast, almost as if it was jumping out of his chest cavity. His eyelashes slightly trembled, and a thin layer of sweat seeped out of his forehead, moistening his side-burns and the hair around his temples; his snow-white fingertips firmly clenched the bed sheet tightly, as if he was resisting some sensations that were unbearable.
Only when Mu Zhan walked away, that his breath became extremely light, and he regained his composure. He breathed a long sigh of relief.
San Xi brought a water basin and served him to freshen up. In an obviously good mood, he happily said, “Young Master, His Majesty dotes on you so much. Seeing that you have a nightmare, he comforted you so gently and coaxed you.”
Wen Mingyu was perplexed. He recalled what had just happened, where did the tyrant comfort him? He said he was so delicate for being scared of a dream, and disliked him for being useless.
Wen Mingyu seriously suspected that San Xi’s brain comprehension was so excessive and he randomly added some strange filters.
San Xi held the dampen cloth with both of his hands and said with a smile, “Young master, you are blushing.”
He was not talking nonsense, Wen Mingyu’s face was indeed flushed with a faint crimson that was obvious against his jade-like skin. It was even more mesmerizing than the peach blossoms in March, which made people unable to look away with their eyes.
It was not odd that such a beauty would be favored by His Majesty.
San Xi was happy on behalf of his master.
Wen Mingyu took one look at the delighted San Xi, and knew that he had misunderstood a lot, but there was no way to explain, so he just rode the idea with him.
Wen Mingyu stood up and got out of the bed. However, his feet were still a bit soft, and when he stepped on the floor, he accidentally bend his body and almost fell down seriously. San Xi reached out to assist him, but Wen Mingyu grabbed the bedpost in time to stabilize his body.
San Xi let out a sigh of relief, but his heart carried some vague concern. The Young Master’s frail body is delicate, and later…. How can he endure His Majesty in the future.
It was fortunate that Wen Mingyu had no idea what he was thinking in his heart, otherwise it would have been embarrassing to the point that he would bury himself with jio to the ground and accidentally discover a palace.
After washing, rinsing his mouth, and getting everything done, Wen Mingyu has to go to where Mu Zhan is again, as usual.
Previously, Wen Mingyu did not want to see the tyrant’s face. Now, because of the nightmare last night, and the fact that he woke up with fright and Mu Zhan in sight; his reluctance to go is getting worse and worse, and the food has become less attractive.
Wen Mingyu sat there with a plate of sweet and sour dried fruit in front of him. Usually, he would have eaten it with great relish, but today, he looked at the wall and was in daze, lost in own thoughts.
Last night’s dream and what happened in the morning gave him a sense of crisis. He couldn’t afford delaying any longer. In the past, he had given himself a training to resist any Alpha’s pheromones and to keep himself from being controlled by instinct and surrender involuntarily.
Although the process was arduous, it proved to be useful. It allowed him to smoothly pretend to be a Beta for more than ten years; not exposing him when he ran to any Alpha.
But now, he discovered that Mu Zhan seemed to have a great influence on him, and he’s afraid. It was unfortunate that the compatibility between the two of them was extremely high. This revelation was more dangerous during estrus.
Wen Mingyu pondered, he must be familiar with the palace’s route as soon as possible. After all, the escape plan is difficult to act; and the sooner he prepares, the better.
So, the key is, how can he naturally ask the tyrant for freedom to roam around the palace
Wen Mingyu was annoyed, and his facial expression staring at the wall became extremely bitter. He was so absorbed that he didn’t even notice that Mu Zhan’s eyes had fallen on him.
Mu Zhan noticed that he was absent-minded. He frowned and said in a cold voice, “What are you thinking?”
Wen Mingyu was startled back to his senses, but he didn’t notice what Mu Zhan said at all. He could only look over with a bewildered face. It was really hard to blame him for his expression when it was placed in an overly handsome, delicate face.
But, Mu Zhan’s eyes sank even deeper. He seemed to be in a very unpleasant mood. His tone was cold and firm as he repeated what he had just told.
This time, Wen Mingyu finally heard, but of course, he will not answer truthfully. “I was thinking about what to eat for lunch today~” he said in a light tone.
Mu Zhan’s expression was difficult to discern, and he did not know if he believed it or not, but he didn’t get angry. Instead, he called Wen Mingyu over and casually threw a memorial into his arms, and said, “Since you are so idle, sit here and recite the memorial to me.”
It was considered a confidential item, yet it was easily thrown into his hands by the tyrant’s own initiative actions. Wen Mingyu was stunned and was at a loss. The memorial was like a hot potato, and he just wanted to toss it back.
This tyrant is really too carefree and was reckless to what he wants to do.
Wen Mingyu asked, “Your Majesty, can I really read this?”
Mu Zhan had no intention to change his mind. He said naturally, “I’ll show you, why not?”
All right.
Wen Mingyu bowed his head down. He first lamented in his heart about the delicacy of the memorial, and then opened it…. And there was no more.
He was completely dumbfounded.
What was written on the memorial, he doesn’t recognize a single character.
Once he crossed over, he became completely illiterate.
Wen Mingyu suddenly realized that he was probably even worse than a three-year old child in this era.
This is really a sad thing to see and those who hear will shed tears. (It means that you’ll feel so miserable for the person in question to whom you heard it from. The person is sad, but you are sadder than them XD.)
Sensing that Wen Minyu was frozen for a period of time and didn’t read a single word, Mu Zhan looked over and said, “Why don’t you read it?”
Wen Mingyu had a complicated face, and he suddenly remembered a phrase he had read on the star network before.
Brothers will betray you, the lover will forsake you, but Math will not. Math is not likely to leave or betray you.
Now, he found out that the same could be said with those words.
These words that I don’t understand. I can’t even pretend to know them even if I want to.
Wen Mingyu used to be one of the best students that got scholarships. He was ashamed of himself and he blushed a little red. He lowered his head, handed over the memorial, and pointed at some characters. He said, “These…. characters, I , I understand none of them.”
Mu Zhan glanced over, the first thing he noticed was Wen Mingyu’s ears, it was tinged with a beautiful red over his pale skin; making people want to pinch and toyed with it for a while.
There was a long silence for a while.
Wen Mingyu didn’t received a response, he raised his head in suspicion and discovered that Mu Zhan was staring at him with a peculiar look.
Meeting his line of sight, Mu Zhan said, “You do not know how to read and write?”
The tone was laced with obvious surprise, seemingly finding it impossible.
Wen Mingyu listened, and felt even more like his heart had been cruelly stabbed with an arrow.
Very surprised?
You may not believe it. I also just found out that I’m illiterate.
