Mu Zhan, as the one with the most honorable standing, should have delivered a few statements in support of his attendance at the event. However, due to his natural tendency to be irritable with these things, he didn’t say anything superfluous and announced the beginning straight away.
Hunting was also competitive in spirit. It would certainly not commence without its fair share of prizes.
The winning prizes, all of which are fancy and rare, are displayed to the side. The greater the complexity of the hunt, the higher the prize.
For the ministers who came from noble families, winning prizes was not always the least important matter. The much more essential thing was to be in the emperor’s sights while on the hunting grounds.
Wen Mingyu stretched over and mounted his horse, whilst receiving veiled stares from all sides that he had grown accustomed to since the palace banquet and whenever he made his appearance in public.
This time, there were other acquaintances present.
Wei Yingwu sits on his tall horse like a gigantic cow. Furthermore, he had a first-rate voice, thriving and reverberating, so that you did not need to see him to know he was present.
“Ge, can you pull it off?”
“Is that an appropriate thing to say to a man?”
“What…oh, you mean that, hahahahahaha. Anyway, I’m absolutely going to surpass you!”
Wei Yingwu was still cackling, but his voice cracked when he added, “No.” It ended abruptly, like a duck in a headlock.
Wen Mingyu followed and peered around, discovering Wei Yingwyu standing by a frail young man with a gentle and peaceful demeanor and a somewhat sickly pale face. Despite his complexion being morbidly white, his back was as straight as a steel rod, and he had an unspeakable disposition.
A minute ago, Wei Yingwu was instantly hushed, perhaps by a fleeting gaze from that man, that he had been tamed.
Wei Yingwu, a general, quickly recognized Wen Mingyu’s line of sight. He glanced over, muttered something to the man alongside him, and both of them galloped over.
Wen Mingyu and Wen Changlan became acquainted with one another after exchanging greetings.
At that time, Wen Mingyu learned that Wen Changlan was Wei Yingwu’s cousin. He also gathered through their talk that Wen Changlan’s body did not seem to be in excellent health.
Wei Yingwu possessed steely nerves, yet he was clearly concerned about his elder brother and was uncomfortable with them going their separate ways. Wen Changlan, on the other hand, wrinkled his brows and chased him away, adding disgustingly, “You are too boisterous, and your movements make too much noise. You are scaring away all the creatures around you.”
Wei Yingwu was unhappy and wailed like a husky. Arguments do not need to be justified; a thundering voice with enough power prevails, “You’re the one who’s overly harsh!”
However, Wei Yingwu, in the end, was thrown out of the group chat. When he reached the hunting grounds alone, the sight of his towering back exuded a heartfelt and bottled sense of abandonment.
Wen Mingyu couldn’t help stifling a laugh.
Wen Mingyu hunted over the following days, progressively increasing his skills through experience. He usually worked with Mu Zhan, but he sometimes hunted in the company of Wei Yingwu and Wen Changlan to round up large prey.
Another day.
Everyone crossed the hunting grounds, some burrowing into the dense woodland, others racing to the meadows in large packs.
Mu Zhan planned to get off to a good start with his main officials by hunting a large prey, so he didn’t follow Wen Mingyu for the time being.
Wen Changlan’s distance to Wen Mingyu was not short when he entered the woods, and they planned to hunt together as a group. In fact, when he denied Wei Yingwu’s presence on the first day, he had a faint suspicion that Wen Changlan had something to say to him alone.
Even so, upon meeting up, they mainly spoke about hunting matters. Wen Mingyu thought he was being unduly sensitive at the time.
At that moment, another horse rider strolled up to Wen Mingyu, grinning and conversing pleasingly, as if he was on good terms with him. However, in reality, this was only the fourth time Wen Mingyu had seen him.
The man’s name was Chi Bibai. Of all the times, he was usually cheerful and took delight in making new acquaintances. On the first two occasions, he had only come across him by coincidence during the hunt, so they exchanged pleasantries. When Mu Zhan was gone yesterday, he took the initiative to mix in and assist Mu Zhan with hunting.
Wen Mingyu momentarily wondered if his purpose was Mu Zhan when he approached him to establish a good relationship. So he took advantage of the chance to test the waters. He was not daft. Although every time he participated in an event, many youngsters from high-born families would mingle and speak with him while being courteous. When, in reality, they were simply interested in probing for information through him to determine whether it was useful.
In this age, there are well-defined, demarcated classes; a family’s social standing; political power and influence; and wealth, and it’s tough to thrive without each of these factors. Those worldly nobles of distinguished families were always lofty and mighty above the rest, owning their own circle and unwilling to allow others to crowd in.
People approached with a grin, and Wen Mingyu couldn’t outright ignore them, so he could only answer a few questions before turning his head to engage in a conversation with Wen Changlan, hoping that Chi Bibai would know how to behave in this delicate situation and withdraw on his own.
“This is the military counselor, Master Wen, right? I heard that we were able to be victorious in the war this time owing to Master Wen’s strategy implementation and cleverness, as if we were seeing Mr. Wolong in the flesh.”
Wen Changlan declined the praise with a humble smile. Wen Mingyu saw that his smile did not extend all the way to the lower eyelid of his eyes. On second consideration, it appeared that Wen Changlan’s words had grown less frequent since the entrance of Chi Bibai. He had a feeling that it seemed he didn’t like the other person?
Wen Mingyu couldn’t stop himself from pivoting his head to get a closer look at Chi Bibai. He was clad in white robes and had a medium-to-high appearance, but his bony face and prominent cheekbones gave the impression that he was mean-spirited.
He and Wen Changlan each appear to be gentlemen of letters, yet when they stand beside each other, they pose high and low. Chi Bibbai is like a knock-off version, and the more he stares at him, the more incongruous he seems.
When Chi Bibai noticed Wen Mingyu’s attention to him, his grin broadened and he became even more animated. Starting with hunting, he discussed how His Majesty had once tracked down a fearsome tiger in one fell swoop, then how fearless and formidable His Majesty was while leading his troops into the enemy’s territory, slaughtering hundreds of thousands of enemy soldiers, torturing his prisoners, and so on.
The first half was relatively normal, but as he listened, Wen Mingyu had a feeling that this was close to characterizing Mu Zhan as a hellish Shura, an evil spirit that only ruthlessly massacred, mutilated, and decimated people with utter contempt for human life.
Is this intentional?
For what purpose? For the purpose of instilling fear in him of Mu Zhan?
At some point, Wen Changlan drifted away, as if he had purposefully left space for the two of them to talk in depth.
Wen Mingyu led his horse into the deep woods, paying close attention to the activities around him. He heard noises behind him of an animal scurrying through the grass to his left, so he whirled around and readied his bow to discharge an arrow. But the prey was quick to react, and the arrow merely grazed the flesh. It immediately dived into the shrubs, concealed its form, and flew away.
Wen Mingyu pulled another arrow, meaning to shoot again, until Chi Bi spoke out and prevented him.
“You didn’t have the opportunity to learn archery before, so it’s great that you can achieve it now.”
Wen Mingyu: “…”
Was it all in his head? Why did he detect dripping acid mixed with ambiguity.
But it didn’t take long for Wen Mingyu to understand that he wasn’t overthinking things, and that Chi Bibai was truly taking his time to disclose his reason for approaching him.
“I didn’t believe the stories out there about how you fawn on and crawl up to the emperor’s. I thought you were very great at first sight. I am fully aware that His Majesty’s temper… is sometimes explosive, and it may be occasionally harmful. You merely dressed up to protect yourself. Living in the palace must be really tough for you.”
Wen Mingyu couldn’t resist giving Chi Bibai a subtle look in his eyes, as if he were staring at an extinct species. Chi Bibai assumed he didn’t believe him and continued to persuade him again, his tongue like a perpetual motion machine, “I understand you very well. If you face any trouble, if you don’t mind, you can also regard me as a friend and tell me. I will try my utmost to help you. “
“For instance, leaving the Imperial Palace…”
For these words, he kept his voice at a raspy whisper so that only the two of them could understand.
Wen Mingyu finally didn’t ignore him; instead, he twisted his head forcefully and looked about, clearly perturbed by what he had said.
Chi Bibai’s face lit up with secret glee as he realized his plan was going to work.
Wen Mingyu questioned, “Won’t you be in trouble if you help me? What would you do if His Majesty got mad?”
Chi Bibai: “I have some contacts in the capital. I can get you a residence to live in and provide you with some silver money. You should not be concerned. I’ve known His Majesty since he was a child. Even if I am found out, I still have other plans.”
Listening to him claim that he had known Mu Zhan for a long time made Wen Mingyu feel a sense of subtle discomfort. He scowled slightly, “The capital? It’s directly at the foot of the Son of Heaven, so it will be easy to discover.”
Chi Bibai: “It’s best to stay in the light’s shadow, and it’s safer to stay in the blindspot. They must believe you have fled the capital and are tracking you beyond it. When the blowing wind passes, it’s time to depart the capital.”
His words are said with the utmost care and compassion, as if he were a saint father who couldn’t tolerate seeing people in trouble and selflessly rescued them from the depths of agony.
The word “saint father” here is not a praiseworthy one.
Since Wen Mingyu does not believe in him at all.
Wen Mingyu did want to leave, but he wasn’t about to foolishly lunge forward when he spotted an opportunity that seemed so inviting. How can he be sure that these warm feelings did not lead to a pit?
Furthermore, while listening to these words until the end, Wen Mingyu always smelt a hint of green tea flavor, leaving him speechless.
For a brief period, his eyes were hung low, and a nasty notion flashed into his heart.
Wen Mingyu pinched his brows in grief and looked like he was in pain as he let out a heavy sigh of misery. “I definitely didn’t have a good time in the palace.“
Chi Bibai’s eyes twinkled, and he hastily made a show of listening patiently.
“You have no idea how difficult it is for me to live there. Every single day, I must accompany His Majesty to his meals. There were all sorts of alpine delights from the mountains and sea in front of me. I ate so much that I am going to puke…”
Chi Bibai nodded compassionately before gazing in awe… Wait a minute, what are you talking about exactly???
Wen Mingyu proceeded to “pour out his grievances,” as if oblivious to the changes in his expression.
“I only wanted to eat some modest porridge with pickled vegetables. Why is it so hard. Aside from that, do you know what I consume with my meals?”
Chi Bibai got a horrible premonition and didn’t really want to hear it.
“It was a bowl that had been painted with purple glaze on the interior and exterior, and the midsection was embellished with an auspicious cloud pattern and a soaring, majestic dragon. It was clearly intended for His Majesty’s use, but he insisted on allowing me to use it. The room is also brimming with rare gems and jewels from the treasure chamber, each of which is worth fifteen cities. As a result, I was concerned about carelessly damaging it. His Majesty, on the other hand, stated that it didn’t matter if it was broken because it was an honor for those treasures that I was willing to use them. I even destroyed a gold-gilt cup. He also instructed me to shatter a fat white mutton’s jade pendant. And when I didn’t, he became enraged and bickered. He carelessly destroyed numerous flower vases, then chuckled and remarked that it sounded wonderful, which was much too much.”
Chi Bibai gritted his teeth: “…..” Mother, I really want to beat someone.
Wen Mingyu, a pretentious Master of Versailles, kept going as he slayed magic with magic, “Did you say His Majesty has a nasty attitude? I think you are mistaken. His forbearance is absolutely appalling. He teaches me horseback riding and archery on a daily basis, but who enjoys lessons. All I want to do is play all day. It’s so aggravating.”
“Your archery…was taught by His Majesty?” Chi Bibai looked like a duck caught by the neck at this point; his face was greener than his name.
Chi Bibai gave a hollow laugh twice, his face very unsightly and unwilling to believe. “You are cracking a joke, right? How does all this sound… surreal. If His Majesty truly regards you as a treasure, how could he abandon you here with no one else.”
Wen Mingyu opened his lips, wanting to respond, but as if he saw something, his face altered and he tugged on the reins, causing the horse to shift route, as if he was attempting to sneak away.
Chi Bibai looked back and saw Mu Zhan heading towards here.
A thought crossed Chi Bibai’s mind, and after another look at Wen Mingyu’s effort to cover up, he became further certain that he was spouting nonsense just now. Chi Bibai immediately raised his voice and cried out, “Your Majesty.”
Mu Zhan, poker-faced, peered over, his eyes skimming past Chi Bibai, and was about to ride away indifferently when he spotted Wen Mingyu hunkering behind his back. He rode over, squinting his eyes.
“Why are you not coming here?”
Chi Bibai assumed Mu Zhan was questioning him, so he quickly answered, with the intention of exposing Wen Mingyu’s prior rubbish as well, “Your Majesty…”
But the moment he moved his mouth, Mu Zhan acted as if he didn’t see him and walked right by him, pausing in front of Wen Mingyu.
Wen Mingyu cocked his head, barely pursed his lips, and whined pitifully, “The prey fled because I missed.”
Mu Zhan, watching him like this, couldn’t help but reach out and rub his head, moving slowly with a distinctively soothing undertone. If it was someone else doing this kind of thing, it would be reasonable, but this was Mu Zhan, the tyrant.
Chi Bibai was struck dumb in shock.
What is this situation? Could what Wen Mingyu just said was the truth?
Is this the same despot who was so unbridled and evil, homicidal, and swatted people like flies at will?
Not some mealy-mouthed, disgustingly gooey, love-brained, flesh-and-blood infatuated person?!
Since he wanted to stroke his head, Mu Zhan had to stay very close to Wen Mingyu. Under their bodies, the two horses were almost as intimate, with Mu Zhan’s horse nuzzling his snout against Wen Mingyu’s horse quite affectionately.
The two of them seemed to have created a world of their own, with no space for anybody else.
Chi Bibai looked like a smudge in a painting.
Mu Zhan didn’t even notice him. After patting Wen Mingyu’s head, he said, “Go, this one will continue teaching you.”
Wen Mingyu gave a little smile, “Oh, okay.”
As the two were about to leave, Wen Mingyu recalled something and shifted his gaze and pointed at Chi Bibai, saying, “Your Majesty, he just told me that my skills at shooting arrows were awful.”
Mu Zhan’s eyes gazed past him.
Chi Bibai’s pulse skipped a beat, and the generous, cold sweat dripping from his brows couldn’t hide his grimace. He, scared and anxious, hastily defended himself, “No, I said nothing of that…”
Mu Zhan, however, did not really care for his explanation and replied sullenly, “You apparently must be extremely confident in yourself when you tell him his archery is terrible. Let this one see how skilled you are with your bow.”
Chi Bibai tried to say something else, but as soon as he caught a glimpse of Mu Zhan’s face, he couldn’t say a word. Thus, he could only stiffen up and do as he was told. He took his bow and arrow, waited for a bit, and when he spotted a passing fox, he shot the arrow out.
The fox yelled in surprise, whirled around, and dashed away. The arrow didn’t even make contact with the fox’s fur.
Wen Mingyu feigned to be dumbfounded, let out a small “wow,” and said admiringly, “This shooting skill is amazingly fantastic.”
What bad intentions may the bunny have? He merely wants to compliment people, that’s all.
Only in this case of shooting empty air, the more heartfelt the compliment is, the more ironic it is.
Chi Bibai felt the sap of his blood flood up his throat, seemingly tasting the fishy sweetness. He was on the verge of vomiting blood. But because Mu Zhan was present, he couldn’t express his rage and was forced to repent with a smile, “I was naive. I offended Young Master Wen for a moment. I beg Your Majesty to forgive my crime.”
Mu Zhan gave him a cold glare. “You are a witless fool who lacks intellect, and you treat people with insolence. You should make amends to him, so what are you saying to this one?”
Chi Bibai choked, clenched his teeth, and lowered his head again in the direction of Wen Mingyu to make atonement.
The pent-up gloominess in Wen Mingyu’s heart scattered and vanished as he watched him hesitantly bend his head, and he felt a bit better.
Things were considered to be over on his side, but Mu Zhan was not someone to be taken lightly. If someone ventured to offend someone in front of him, he would undoubtedly suffer the consequences. He did, however, cast a glance towards Wen Mingyu beside him. He was aware of his timidity, so the words on his lips were modified when he commanded him, “Since you’re so proud, go hunt a hundred prey back. Small animals don’t count, and asking for help is prohibited.”
Chi Bibai’s eyes gaped. How is this even possible?!
Mu Zhan’s eyes became gloomy.
In a flurry, he bent his head. “This subject complies with the order.”
Then, all he could do was keep his head down as he watched the horses’ hooves on the ground slip further and further away, not daring to glance up the entire time. Chi Bibai remained still, as if he had turned into a stone statue. His hand balled up into a fist so tight that blood was seeping from it, and within his vision was hatred and refusal.
Wen Mingyu, on his part, cast aside the man without second thought, forgetting him quite simply. Thinking about someone who was inconsequential and unpleasant was a sheer waste of time.
After removing all distractions, Wen Mingyu then really started to experience hunting.
Based on his previous experience for the past few days, Wen Mingyu moved forward and began searching for prey. He didn’t stay with Mu Zhan, but their distance from each other was not far. After all, one would be dependent on the teacher if their presence could be felt. When he mentioned this, Mu Zhan gazed at him and did not refuse.
He glanced around and saw Wen Changlan a short distance behind him, chatting to Mu Zhan over something.
Wen Changlan was unexpectedly sharp. He noticed his gaze at the same time as Mu Zhan, and they both looked at him. Wen Changlan smiled warmly at him with the air of a cultured scholar, effortlessly winning the public’s affection. Though he appeared physically weaker than average people, he was observant. In terms of strategy, the animals couldn’t cope with him at all.
While Mu Zhan was hunting on his own, he would occasionally offer Wen Mingyu some advice. Wen Changlan would make a few remarks here and there, but they were never over the line, thus they went along remarkably well.
Later, Wen Changlan took advantage of an opening to come up to Wen Mingyu’s side and whispered, “Chi Bibai was once the Fourth Prince’s companion. “
He didn’t do more than that, but it was plain that he was reminding him that he couldn’t be trusted. Wen Mingyu recalled Mu Zhan’s history, his birth mother’s abuse, his father’s negligence, and his other sibling’s willful mistreatment and shaming. Chi Bibai claimed to know him but suspected his good deed was up to good. As predicted, he carried ill intent and dug a trench for him to dive into.
Wen Mingyu briefly thought of something and breathed with a subtle expression, “What I said before to Chi Bibai… did you hear it?”
Wen Changlan was taken aback for a second before smiling, “Do you mean—His Majesty spoils me too much, I’m so in distress and frustrated over what to do, and so on?”
Wen Mingyu was so terribly humiliated that he wanted to find some tree hollow to hide his head, but then he recalled the scene of Wen Changlan talking to Mu Zhan just a moment ago and shot his head up, anxiously asking, “You didn’t say any of that to His Majesty, did you?”
Wen Changlan showed a slight smile. “Take a guess?”
Wen Mingyu felt as though he had kicked the bucket on the spot, and even if the script he scribbled was not laid bare, he had experienced a social death totally and thoroughly.
Wen Changlan saw his expression and realized he was two legs away from losing faith in humanity’s love. He couldn’t stop himself from chuckling. “Rest assured, I only informed His Majesty that Chi Bibai had said something unpleasant to you. If you are still not at ease, you can seek confirmation from His Majesty.”
Wen Mingyu let out a huge sigh of relief.
Wen Chanlang added, “My foolish cousin considers you like a half-brother and frequently brings your name into our talk, which happens to pique my interest. Indeed, when I met you today, it was truly… different from the rest.”
Wen Mingyu constantly seemed to feel that he was trying to say ‘exotic flower.’ He simpered, wilted, then after some chit-chat, he shifted his head sideways and got more immersed in hunting.
Wen Changlan observed his back as he galloped away after his prey, full of youthful vigor.
In fact, seeing Wen Mingyu was one of the many reasons Wen Changlan attended the roundup this time. He had already listened to Wei Yingwu’s account of the events of the palace banquet and had picked out some details, namely His Majesty’s sudden displeasure at the performers, yet he pardoned the individuals in an unusual fashion.
Amidst the crowd, only Wen Mingyu spoke a couple of sentences to His Majesty.
He had the ability to cajole His Majesty.
Wen Changlan wanted to see for himself if this was the case, or if it was just a coincidence.
He surveyed the people heretofore without lifting a finger, just enough to witness a young, meek palace servant shaking with terror and almost making a mistake. His Majesty’s face was once again unsightly. If, according to His Majesty’s disposition of being ruthless and despotic in the earlier days, this servant would have been severely disciplined or possibly lost his life.
But then Wen Changlan noticed that Wen Mingyu edged over, beaming warmly. After talking to him, His Majesty’s visage lightened, and he even touched Wen Mingyu’s hair in a mellow way.
He’d never seen someone capable of doing that before.
Each and every scholar is most likely driven by the same goals: to serve a wise monarch, to make significant contributions and fulfill great duties, and to have their names inked in history. His Majesty possessed the capacity to manage political issues with skill, like a butcher to its cleaver, and the potential to become a reigning ruler. However, his most serious flaw was his hostile disposition, which was like an unbridled storm and was sinisterly malevolent. It was handy in times of war, but he was now governing his land, and slaughtering too many people was very detrimental. If he continues along this path, he will undoubtedly leave a stench for ten thousand years as a famously savage tyrant with a lengthy yore of infamy.
He naturally emphasized the likelihood of a reversal now that it had arisen.
A gruff, thundering voice blasted in his ears while Wen Changlan was lost in his musings.
“Ge, what are you up to?!”
The cattail leaf-like hand smacked him on the back with controlled power, yet with Wei Yingwu’s gigantic power, he could have dispatched the man in a minute.
Wen Changlan turned to face him and offered him a million-dollar, affectionate smile, “Should we compete, cousin?”
Wei Yingwu’s eyes shone brightly, “Compare! Compete! What if you lose?”
Wen Changlan responded, “There’s a food that rabbits like a lot, comparable to what catnip is to cats, I assure you.“
Wei Yingwu was piqued and nodded fervently while he had already assumed a winning stance.
Wen Changlan went on to say, “If you lose, you must do everything I tell you for three days, and you can’t disobey.“
When Wei Yingwu heard this, he thought of it as trivial. Even when there wasn’t a bet, his cousin had a way of making him manage things so he couldn’t play at all.
As a result, he gladly accepted.
As they were about to report to the emperor, they coincidentally stumbled upon Chi Bibai, who was hunting without stopping due to His Majesty’s orders.
Wen Changlan greeted him and exchanged pleasantries. “Chi-shizi is an excellent archer. I’m confident you have already hunted hundreds of prey?”
Wei Yingwu was an outspoken man who prized actual strength. Therefore, when he heard this, he didn’t hesitate once before refuting it, “Ge, you’ve got the incorrect person, don’t you? How can he bear to be that worthy of an archer.”
He brushed up against Wen Changlan a bit, believing his loud voice had been muffled. However, in reality, his bellowing voice was a lost cause. Chi Bibai’s complexion was not only a simple green but varied from red, orange, yellow, blue, and purple.
Wei Yingwu reacted quickly and scraped his hair uncomfortably, but he thought that he was telling no lies and didn’t want to apologize. So, without further ado, he yanked the reins and galloped over to Wen Mingyu’s side, saying, “Brother Wen was about to go roe deer hunting. How about we go hunt some black bears some other time. I went hunting for one last year.”
Mu Zhan gave him an icy glance before he could continue his words.
Wei Yingwu, a nearly two-meter tall guy, couldn’t help but shudder, not knowing what was going on. But his lips rescued him, adding, “Obviously, this subject cannot compare to His Majesty; the tigers in the hunting grounds are scared of His Majesty.”
Chi Bibai had long been pissed off and was also rushing off to hunt a hundred prey, else a heavy punishment would undoubtedly await him.
Wei Yingwu went off with Wen Changlan for their hunting competition, leaving Wen Mingyu and Mu Zhan alone.
The hours spent hunting flew by. People would avoid them from afar if they caught sight of them going by since Mu Zhan was nearby, allowing Wen Mingyu a decent amount of practice.
The end outcome was very fruitful.
Ranked by the amount of prey and the difficulty of hunting, he can hardly receive a tiny prize.
Despite the fact that there were seas of jewels and stones alike in the Penglai Hall where he resided, what he had gained for himself was unquestionably extremely special. With a pleased and treasured expression, he gripped the jade pendant like a treasure.
Mu Zhan tilted his head to look at him. “Like it that much?”
Wen Mingyu beamed broadly, “Yes, it’s something I’ve worked hard to win. Of course I like it.“
After stating that, he cocked his head and watched Mu Zhan for a moment before suddenly reaching out to touch Mu Zhan’s hand, spreading his palm and placing the jade pendant in it.
“Presenting to Your Majesty.”
Mu Zhan: “… For what?”
Wen Mingyu did not hesitate to express, “There is no reason. I can give it away if I wish. And if it weren’t for Your Majesty, I definitely would not have been able to obtain this jade pendant. “
Mu Zhan averted his eyes and scrutinized the jade pendant in his palm. He then remarked, tersely, “I have never worn a jade pendant of such low quality.”
When Wen Mingyu heard him, he wanted him to give it back to him. As a result, as soon as he extended his hand, he saw Mu Zhan slipping the jade pendant into his sleeve pocket…
What a “disgust.”
Why hadn’t he discovered the tyrant had a tsundere attribute before.
