Scarlet Rose [ABO] â What Happens When the Villain Dies at the Beginning? (36)
The morning after Payne snuck Lu Shijin away, Prime Minister Lu searched all over the manor without finding his son.
Lu Shijin didnât leave anything behind, not even a note. It was as though he had evaporated. Prime Minister Lu was so nervous that he almost went to the police station.
Soon, the palace sent news that his majesty had invited Major Lu over, and that he shouldnât worry.
How could the scheming Prime Minister Lu not know if he was a guest or a prisoner?
But because the other party was the Emperor, he could only suppress his anger.
It was soon time for the coronation.
The palace sent a messenger to the Lu family, telling the prime minister that Lu Shijin had agreed to become Empress.
Their marriage ceremony would be held with the coronation, so the Lu family should prepare in advance.
Prime Minister Lu was startled at first, didnât his son refuse to be Empress?
Why would he suddenly change his mind?
Could he have been coerced into agreeing at the palace?
Prime Minister Lu loved his son and was very worried.
Even if becoming Empress would allow the Lu family to benefit, he didnât want his son to be forced.
Just as he was going to request for an audience with the emperor, Lu Shijin suddenly returned.
âHow did you come back?â Prime Minister Lu was both surprised and happy.
Lu Shijin immediately collapsed on his bed when he came back, as though he had fought for days without rest.
âWhy canât I come back?â
Prime Minister Lu asked doubtfully, âHow did his Majesty allow you to come back?â
Lu Shijin remmebered what Payne had told him before he let him go.
âDarling, Iâm letting you go home to properly prepare for our wedding. Donât you dare try to run away. Donât forget I have your other body, as well as Maupay, in my hands. If you have thoughts you shouldnât be having, you know the outcome.â
Heh, very sexual threats.
âHe dared let me out because he knew I couldnât escape.â Lu Shijin said quietly, âHe has stuff on me.â
Prime Minister Lu became more curious. âWhat stuff?â
Lu Shijin lifted his head and looked at his father, âMy dear father, youâve been in politics for so long, but you still donât understand a basic concept?â
âHuh?â Prime Minister Lu was confused.
Lu Shijin replied, âThe more you know, the faster you die.â
Prime Minister Lu was furious and instantly slapped his son, âYouâve grown guts now, huh? You actually dare to talk to me like that!â
âGo on, hit me.â Lu Shijin stayed on the bed, not wanting nor having the energy to resist, âItâs best that you hurt me, so I wouldnât have to marry Payne.â
As expected, Prime Minister Lu hesitated, his hand already in the air.
That;s right, his son was the soon-to-be Empress. If they met each other later on, he would have to pay his respects to his son, so he definitely couldnât do anything to him right now.
âLet me ask you, his Majesty said you agreed to be his Empress, but was it out of your own volition?â Prime Minister Lu sat on Lu Shijinâs bed and asked seriously.
Lu Shijin turned around, hugging his pillow as he smiled at Prime Minister Lu.
âIf it wasnât, what would you do?â
Prime Minister Lu grimaced, âIf you arenât willing, then Iâll go to the palace and plead his Majesty to take it back.â
Lu Shijin raised an eyebrow in surprise, âWhy? Didnât you think it would be good for me to be Empress?â
Prime Minister Lu said unhappily, âIf you love his Majesty, then of course itâs a good thing. But if you donât, your marriage definitely wonât be happy. As your father, I canât just stand by and watch as you jump into a fire pit. I know youâve had a hand time these years, after I told you to pretend to be an Alpha. Now that youâve been exposed, I want you to live your life with the one you love. Omegas are different from Alphas, they can only be marked by one Alpha, so you have to be careful who you choose as your Alpha.â
Lu Shijin had thought that Prime Minister Lu was a heartless person who only cared about profits, making the original body pretend to be an Alpha to stabilize his position.
He didnât expect that Prime Minister Lu would say this.
After his initial surprise, Lu Shijin felt a bit moved.
Since he entered this world, and was bound to the system to start fulfilling the tasks, no one had asked him what he wanted.
Although these feelings werenât actually directed at him, Lu Shijin still felt the warmth of having family members care for him.
âI know, father.â Lu Shijin smiled from his heart, âRest assured, I was willing. No one forced me. After a couple days of interacting with him, I realized that his Majesty is pretty good. It wouldnât be a bad decision to become his Empress.â
Prime Minister Lu inspected Lu Shijinâs expression, trying to verify the validity of his words, âReally?â
âReally.â Lu Shijin propped himself up and nodded seriously, then joked, âMore than 24k gold.â
Prime Minister Lu was relieved to hear him say that and scolded lightheartedly, âSo glib!â
Since his son was still in the mood for jokes, it meant that he probably wasnât forced.
Three days before the coronation, Payne sent people with clothes for Lu Shijin to wear on the day.
