Javelin whistled and entered the âGreat Education Hallâ.
This was the education institution which oversees the three academies of the Magic world.
The head of this was Serpent Gerol, the 3rd elder.
It was funny. A human being who expresses only envy and jealousy towards others and had a strong sense of inferiority, was overseeing the education of others.
Javelin didnât like the 3rd elder. This was because the view of education didnât fit well with both and their values differed.
However, since principal Siegfried was frequently away, it was inevitable that Javelin, who served as the acting principal, frequently met with the 3rd elder.
âOh, Javelin. What are you here for today?â
The receptionist of the Great Education Hall welcomed him.
He always had a smiling face so everyone looked at him in a favourable way.
Javelin answered it with a smile.
âThe Superintendent of Education called for me.â
âAhh. He is bothering Mr. Javelin again.â
âWhat do I do? I still need to discuss the issues which are at stake in the education of students, so I should go with a happy heart.â
âYou are the real teacher. Please go in.â
âThank you. Take care~â
Javelin waved and climbed into the elevator.
Arriving at the top floor in an instant, he greeted those around him and stood in front of the superintendentâs office.
He was able to knock on the door when he heard footsteps and he stepped back as someone was about to walk out.
âMr. Keniac?â
âMr. Javelin? What are you doing here?â
âI was called. Why are you⊠ah, superintendent is your teacher right?â
âWell, yes.â
âYou donât look happy⊠Did you have a fight?â
âYou donât need to know.â
At Javelinâs question, Keniac bluntly answered.
âGo in. Arenât you here for that?â
â⊠yes. You too leave safely.â
Keniac disappeared without even answering. And Javelin shrugged it off.
Such a gloomy man. He couldnât even understand what was going on in Keniac's mind.
âStill, he is a fellow teacher so I should be friendly.â
The motto of Javelin was to live a friendly life. So he entered the office with a smile.
âSuperintendent, I am here!â
Jamie walked out after finishing his class.
After working all day, he felt a little tired. Besides, the talk with Siegfried kept running through his mind.
Now, he desperately wanted to go home, warm himself with a warm bath and take a good rest.
With that thought, he went to the office to pick up his things and moved.
An 8 year old employee.
A test, but commuting to and from work wasnât a problem for him.
âWhat should I have for dinner?â
The maid hired by the magic world was a fairly skilled middle-aged woman, and was good at cooking too, so he enjoyed it.
It was no exaggeration to say that the evening time was the best time of the day for Jamie. He rubbed the sore nape of his neck and noticed a girl watching the sunset in the distance.
Ann Myer.
Perhaps it was because of the shadows created by the sunset, her form looked sad.
âWhat is that girl doing?â
She did look a little withdrawn from her previous classes and now she looked depressed.
Jamie sighed and walked over to Ann.
âWhat are you doing here alone?â
âAh, teacher.â
Ann hurriedly got up.
And smiled brightly as if her depression was cured but it was so obvious that she was forcing a smile.
âYou donât have to force yourself to smile.â
âHehe.â
âSit.â
Jamie flopped down.
Ann glanced at him and sat down.
âAre you having any concerns?â
âNo. There are no such things.â
âIt is clearly written on your face that you have troubles, so tell me. Thereâs nothing to do anyway, so listening wonât be difficult.â
If a student he is teaching is looking so down, no teacher can ever walk away from them.
Ann wondered and said,
âItâs just that, I wonder if I am no good at magic. So I was wondering about it all day today.â
Although she was comforted by her brother Armie, she kept thinking about it.
What happened today was a shock to her.
âWhy? Did something happen?â
At Jamieâs question. Ann explained in detail what happened in the mana test.
âAm I really that bad? Instead of cheering for my friend, I was jealous of him⊠and he was someone who worked hard.â
âThat is called being human, it is inevitable to have those feelings. Just feeling guilty for it shows you are good. So donât be discouraged by it. some people blindly trust that feeling and use their jealousy to commit evil things.â
âIs that so?â
âYou are still young, so you might not know, but there are plenty of people in the world. If a person who is worse than us getâs a bit better, people will slander them. Disgraceful things and spread rumors to tarnish their image. In severe cases, they kill them.â
âOh shit.â
âBut you are hating yourself because you had such thoughts. That alone makes you in the top 1% of people.â
Jamie had met many humans in his life.
In particular, there were many who harbored the feeling of jealousy and inferiority towards him, and were horrible.
All such people never grew up. It was because they were overly conscious about other people and didnât work hard on their own growth.
On the other hand, the humans who didnât care about such things stood by his side.
Ann was the latter kind.
âBut.â
Ann spoke carefully.
âYou told me that I donât know since I was young, but arenât you younger than me?â
âMe, age doesnât matter! How dare you use a teacherâs words against them!â
âSorryâŠâ
Jamie, who was flustered, yelled at her. Without realizing, he thought he was Diablo.
And he quickly changed the subject.
âHow many points did you get in the mana test?â
â247MPâŠâ
âHm.â
Much lower than Jamie expected, and lost his words.
He knew right away that she didnât have much mana, but hearing this changed it.
âNot much has changed since last year. It makes me wonder if I donât even need to try anymore.â
Ann was feeling down again.
Jamie, who thought of comforting her, shook his head.
âMana is very important to a magician. Because it is the energy that is the source of all magic. So, magicians who lack mana are at a bad disadvantage.â
âRight⊠I knew that I shouldnât be a magician.â
âListen till the end.â
âUh?â
âIt is true that you are at a disadvantage, but that doesnât mean you shouldnât be a magician. There are humans in the world who became great magicians even if their mana was low.â
Sia Another.
One of Diabloâs people.
Ann looks like her. It wasnât about looks or personality. That part they both deferred a lot. Sia was a lively kid but on the other hand she was even timid when she met for the first time.
And Ann was completely the opposite of it.
However, the outstanding concentration of immersion in something and the ability to understand which transcends geniuses reached the realm of overwhelming âinsightâ.
âThat is the talent of a scholar.â
Compared to the other disciple, she was low, but she wasnât a magician who could be counted by the magician status.
Her insight, which was so great, was at the level of understanding that she only had to see anything once.
And that was how great Ann had to be.
âAnn.â
âYes.â
âDo you want to be a magician?â
âNo. Not just a magician, but a great magician.â
Jamie had no intention of taking this child as his disciple.
Yet.
He thought of giving this a chance.
It was up to Ann whether she will grow or not.
âIâll give you homework. Get that all done.â
âHome⊠work?â
âYes.â
The method he used to Sia in the past.
He wasnât sure if this child would make it or not, but he wanted to try.
Ann looked at Jamie without answering. She wasnât stupid enough to not know what this young teacher, who was looking at her was talking about.
âI will do it! That homework! I will definitely do it!â
Desperate.
Desperate in every way.
For a magician, 10 years isnât a young age. And if she couldnât find her way, it was right to give up and take a new path.
A path which didnât have to be that of a magician.
Ann was at that crossroad right now.
Jamie nodded.
âCome to my staff room tomorrow.â
âYes!â
The girl smiled brightly.
Why was it that his discipleâs face kept overlapping over hers?
Jamie stood up and smiled.
âI need to go.â
âAh! Yes! Thanks for the nice words!â
Jamie left without saying anything, and she waved her hand constantly.
No one knew if the future was going to be a repeat of the past life.
With that anxiety in his heart, Jamie headed to his room.
âI need to get permission.â
Jamie was on his way home, but then his route changed. At first, he thought it wouldnât matter, but it wouldnât be right.
âI was told that Marquis Linmelâs lab is at the top of the Blue Magic tower.â
Marquis Linmel was the tower master of the Blue Magic tower which protected the defense of this place.
He was on his way there to get permission from Linmel to teach Ann the whole body breathing technique.
If he refused then he would pass the method he taught Sia in the past.
âThat old man wonât refuse.â
That old man constantly approached Jamie with kindness from the beginning. Roughly speaking, if he promised that it would only be Ann then he could be allowed.
The Blue Magic tower wasnât blue as the name implied.
There were other magic towers named red, yellow and white, but the colors on them weren't the same.
It was just a name.
When he entered the tower, magicians were moving around.
He heard that this was a place which specialized in magic books. So Marquis Linmel was the master of the tower and that helped him create that breathing method.
âWhere should I go?â
The Blue Magic tower was wide enough to be vast. It looked huge on the outside, but the inside was much more huge and massive because of the expansion magic.
And this magic seemed stronger than Gremia.
It was when Jamie was looking,
âWhat are you here for?â
A female magician in a blue robe asked. She was kind enough to bend down and look at Jamie.
âAh, Iâd like to meet the Master of the Magic tower.â
âThis little one wants to meet the Master. But he isnât someone you can see so easily.â
Apparently, this magician didnât recognize Jamie despite his emerald hair and eyes. It was rare for ordinary people to recognize Jamie through this.
Until now, there were very few people who recognized Jamie through his hair color.
Jamie too smiled and said.
âTell him Jamie Welton is here.â
â⊠eik!?â
The magicians screamed in a strange way at it.
Was this what it meant to be strong?
Well, Jamie just smiled and looked at her. This wasnât a bad reaction.
