The movie that Peng Zige had chosen was a highly anticipated blockbuster about superheroes. It had taken the world by storm and there were lots of advertisements and promotions all about the cinema. Peng Zige couldn’t resist himself and had gone all out and bought a complete set of merchandise: a keychain, a cup and some kind of simulation weapon.
Since it was the day after the movie premiere, the cinema was bustling with people and was almost packed to capacity. Li Erqin had bought some Coke and popcorn before heading into the theatre with Su Zi and Peng Zige. As they made their way in, they kept hearing Peng Zige apologising to the people he had prodded with his simulation weapon.
Why couldn’t he have waited until after the movie to buy it?
Li Erqin wanted to ask him but tamped down the urge.
He had already bought it so what was the point of asking.
After much effort, they finally found their seats. Peng Zige’s head was covered in sweat. He reached across Li Erqin to grab his Coke and gulped it down. When he had recovered his energy, he gazed lovingly at his newly acquired treasures and said, “It’s a good thing they’re not broken.”
Su Zi snarled, “I think you’re the one that’s broken.”
Peng Zige replied in disdain, “Do you know what this is? Feelings! Emotions! I’ve been a fan since the manga came out until now!”
Su Zi declined to comment any further and instead took her time sipping her Coke slowly.
The aisles were beginning to get congested with people coming in. Many a “I’m sorry, may I pass please” could be heard as people shuffled in and out of the rows. Floating around even more frequently were the comments: “How come there’re so many people here?” and “Where are our seats?” It was quite a brouhaha.

Peng Zige was still having a standoff with Su Zi.
Li Erqin suddenly felt her phone vibrate in her pocket.
Taking it out to look, she saw that Rong Si had sent a text: [What are you doing?]
Li Erqin bit down on her lower lip as she glanced across at the two people sitting next to her before replying: [Watching a movie.]
Shortly after she had sent her reply, Rong Si replied: [*Take your time and enjoy your movie.]
(T/N : RS’s reply literally meant Slowly watch, a term to mean, Take your time and enjoy whatever you’re watching)
Peng Zige noticed that Li Erqin was not participating in their banter, and he leaned over and asked, “Erqin what are you doing?”
Li Erqin put her phone away. “Sending a text to Rong Si.”
Peng Zige stopped drinking his Coke for a few seconds before asking, “Rong Si?”
Li Erqin nodded.
Peng Zige asked incredulously, “The Rong Si that we know?
Li Erqin replied, “I don’t even know any other Rong Si.”
Peng Zige was ready to blow a gasket. “I’ve been looking for him for an entire week and he all but ignored me. But now, right here at this moment, he sent you a text?”
Li Erqin replied, “Yup.”
Peng Zige said helplessly, “It was a rhetorical question.”
Li Erqin grabbed a handful of popcorn to eat and didn’t comment further.
Peng Zige held back for a short while but finally relented. “So what did Rong Si say to you?”
A curious Su Zi had also turned her focus towards them.
“He asked what I was up to.”
“And then?”
“Told me to take my time and enjoy the movie.”
“That’s all?”
“Yup, that’s all.”
Peng Zige turned and met Su Zi’s eyes. He looked even more bewildered than before. “It was such an endeavor to get in contact with Rong Si, why didn’t you ask a more appropriate question before ending the conversation?”
Li Erqin was sincerely puzzled. “What should I have asked?”
“Like when he will be returning!”
“*After a while.”
(Minodayz : *hahahahahah- this was last chapter when RS told her that, of which she repeated the same to PZG!!! I am laughing hard coz I can just picture PZG with steam rising from his head while LEQ would still look on absolutely clueless!!!!)
“WHAT?”
Li Erqin replied in all seriousness, “Last night Rong Si said as much. He will be back after a while.”
Peng Zige was utterly defeated and gave up on the discussion. He leaned back on his chair and said, “You just don’t understand me! You really aren’t missing Rong Si enough! If you missed him like I do, you’d definitely ask him specifically when he would be returning.”
Li Erqin lowered her head as she looked up Rong Si’s number to show him.
Peng Zige glowered, “What gives?”
“Rong Si’s mobile number.”
“I know that!”
“It’s not disconnected.”
“So?”
Li Erqin put away her phone saying, “If you text him right now, he will definitely reply to you.”
Peng Zige was absolutely crushed! (defeated)
Minodayz: (and I am laughing like a crazy loony tune!!! I’m am such a visual person and I can hear and see the whole conversation and dying for laughter!!!)
Su Zi guffawed, laughing out loud. “Peng Zige, do you copy the answers to all your exams? Based on your brain capacity, I’m beginning to wonder how you achieve all your grades?”
Peng Zige didn’t lift his head as he sent a message to Rong Si. “Shut up!”

Peng Zige fiddled with his phone for a while when the lights began to dim in the theatre. Li Erqin gave a quick glance at Peng Zige, who had obediently put away his phone.
These types of Superhero franchise movies were always sold-out blockbusters. The movie opened with a bang and never let up. From start to finish, Peng Zige was kept on the edge of his seat, and when it finally ended, he vividly recounted every single scene and described them all in detail.
They waited until the crowd had dissipated somewhat before making their way out. There were only a few people loitering by the stairwell as the main crowd was waiting by the elevator. The remaining people could be found around the display billboards or ticketing booths.
As they weren’t pressed for time and didn’t need to go down by elevator, they took the stairs, chatting as they made their way down.
Li Erqin had not watched the earlier movies in the series so she hadn’t a clue about the background to the movie. Peng Zige was animatedly bringing her up to speed about the story plot as they made their way down. Su Zi was the substitute tutor, filling in the gaps during Peng Zige’s lengthy discourse.
She was paying such close attention to their story that she failed to notice a person hurtling down the stairs behind her.
With a feeble outcry, she felt herself shoved forward. Unable to gain her footing, she went flying down. Halfway through her free fall, she saw the last few steps on the stairs. Her anxiety then gave way to a certain relief as she closed her eyes in acceptance of her fate.
Suddenly, a pair of hands came from behind and grabbed her waist. Li Erqin felt the person hold on tight while adjusting their position as they continued downwards.
She felt the hard impact as they landed on the ground, but somehow there wasn’t the expected pain.
As soon as Li Erqin touched the ground, she immediately got to her feet. She hurried over to help the person who had shielded her and broken her fall. As she reached out her hand, she was stunned. “Ruan Mingxian?”
Minodayz : dun dun dun…. while RS is away RMX is back!!! Another hero really. I know he is set up for more heartbreak coz we all know who will be with whom, but still, RMX stands out as a good rival. Our trio certainly has the most interesting conversation as usual with PZG just getting plummeted! Wonder what RMX will bring to the mix and for LEQ…. til then, have a great weekend. I’ll be at Hobbiton reliving Frodo and Sam’s middle earth.
