Ultimately, Li Erqin didnāt take the role of emcee. Ruan Mingxian also did not appear in front of her since the day she had rejected him.
The next time Li Erqin saw him was on the stage during the Spring Festival.
He was wearing a black suit with a white shirt underneath. As he stood in the middle of the stage, he completely overwhelmed and drowned out the presence of the female emcee standing beside him.
Maybe it was because he was standing under the spotlight or maybe it was because he was emceeing today and had taken great pains to dress up, but this was the first time Li Erqin had actually conscientiously sized him up from the corner front row where she sat.
Ruan Nuonuo had mentioned before that while Ruan Mingxian had a darker complexion, he was still good looking. Moreover, he definitely was of the type that drew many girlsā affection. He usually looked like he was holding back his smiles, but with him all spiffed up and serious this time, it actually left Li Erqin with a rather peculiar feeling.
While several performers went up and down the stage, Ruan Mingxian could always be found on the stage at all times.
Li Erqinās seat was to the left and was closest to the stage. These seats were set aside for students needing to go up on stage at any time. However, her seat was a little further to the corner, and thus even with the glaring spotlights, it was still engulfed in darkness. Sitting beside her was Rong Si. Like Ruan Mingxian, Rong Si was also dressed in formal attire, with his white shirt peeking out past his cuffs.
He had even taken care to style his hair today. His fringe was slanted just so over his eyes, looking all soft and fluffy. For the performance he had some makeup on, and his features were accentuated. His eyebrows especially resembled the brushstrokes on a fine ink painting.
Li Erqin wanted to speak with him a couple of times, but resisted.
It seemed like Rong Si had somehow ā¦ fallen asleep.
What was he doing every day to make him this tired? Itās so noisy here, how is he able to sleep at all?
Li Erqin tilted her head in thought.
His eyelashes look so long.
She moved in for a closer look.
Do all good looking guys have such long eyelashes?
This time, even her hand started to move closer
As her hand reached out to touch Rong Siās lashes, she suddenly heard Ruan Mingxian introducing her name from the stage.
Abruptly, she raised her head, and her eyes unintentionally met with Ruan Mingxian.
Itās so dark here, can he still see me?
Li Erqin was once again overcome with misgivings.
āLetās go.ā Rong Siās low voice flitted past her ears, a low husky voice fitting someone who had just woken up.
She felt Rong Si standing up beside her.
The suit he wore was bespoke tailoring, absolutely perfect.
(T/N : Iāve learnt a new term here. Bespoke tailoring /biĖspoŹk/ is clothing made to an individual buyerās specifications by a tailor. This ensures a precise fit, particularly in the shoulders as well as the posture areas)
Li Erqin looked up from where she sat and felt like no matter where she looked, it seemed that all she could see were Rong Siās legs.
She stood up as well.
Rong Si smiled. āDonāt be nervous.ā
On the other side, Peng Zige and Su Zi were sitting amongst their classmates. When they heard Li Erqin and Rong Siās name being called out, they joined in with their classmates by screaming for the pair in support.
In fact, the moment when Rong Siās name was uttered by the emcee, the crowd erupted in applause and cheers. It wasnāt just the students from their class but girls from other classes and years were shrieking in excitement as well.
Peng Zigeās cheer was drowned out in the midst of all the excited female frenzy, so much so that he glared across at them in annoyance.
During this time, Rong Si had led Li Erqin, who was dressed in a white short dress, up and to the center of the stage.
A tall, lithe young man with a slim, young lady.
Holding hands, they gave a bow towards the teachers and fellow students.
(Minodayz : oooooo holding hands Iād sayā¦..make the most of it folks!!! hahahaha)
