Chapter 55: New Year’s Eve Together
December 31, the last day of the year.
We talked about whether or not to go to Hatsumode as the date changed, and seemingly nobody wants to head out in the middle of the night. So it was decided that we will visit the shrine together in the morning to greet the New Year. (TLN- Hatsumode is the Japanese tradition of visiting a shrine or temple to welcome the new year.)
“… Mou, Hayato-kun, sleeping so soundly at a time like this.”
Aina said so as if she was sulking a little.
The time was around past eleven midnight, so Hayato was already asleep. He was cozily resting on Sakuna’s lap,
“Well, he has done a lot of cleaning this morning, so no wonder he’s tired.”

Aina reached out her arm and patted Hayato on the head, expressing her sympathy for him after he had taken the initiative in carrying the heavy stuff for them.

Hayato woke up at 23:30, just a few minutes before New Year.
They decided to stay up together for a little while longer, and enjoyed chatting while watching a New Year Eve’s celebration on TV.
