“As soon as we beat them, the next round will start soon. Let's do our best.”
“Yes. I still have some magic left to spare so I'm going to use my magic bow (magic arrow) and then use defender to finish them off.”
\n
I have been following Clarice's battle with my eyes since the start.
Clarice was finally able to defeat the goblin general one-on-one.
However, she couldn’t finish in time unless it was one-on-one.
\n
Hence that’s why I defeated one every minute when we entered the spring room.
When I had defeated 29 of them, I switched places with Clarice.
Then Clarice can fight one-on-one for one minute.
\n
As soon as Clarice takes any damage, I heal her.
Clarice still can't defeat a goblin general with one hit.
She needs to slash it many times because she can't defeat it unless she can cut down its HP.
While she still has MP, she attacks from afar with her magic bow (magic arrow) and after that, she attacks with defender repeatedly.
When she runs out of MP, she defeats the goblin general with only defender.
The first time she used the magic arrow, she could only fire the arrow but could not hit the target. It seems that dexterity is necessary to hit the target properly.
And the MP consumption is also not a joke: 5 per shot.
Sometimes it takes her more than a minute to kill one goblin general but I'm there to stall or take down the revived goblin generals.
\n
“After we take them down, let’s head back to the safe zone. Deplete our MP and come challenge here again.”
\n
Clarice nodded. Perhaps due to fatigue, she didn’t even reply back.
To be honest, without defender,  anklet of secret (mysterious anklet), and the magic bow (magic arrow), even a one-on-one battle would be tough for her.
But Clarice desperately gave her best.
\n
I had a lot of fun when I was hunting goblin generals with Clarice.
Not only when we were hunting goblin generals. Whenever we were together, we had fun.
In my youth in my previous life, I was always striving alone to do my best.
It's really fun to make an effort together. Moreover, the person I'm working together with is a ridiculously beautiful girl.
What a normie life I'm leading.
\n
Since Clarice and I dived into the labyrinth, there has not been a single occurrence of labyrinth overflow (labyrinths).
Count Beetle explained to the residents that the labyrinth overflow had not occurred because I and Clarice had dived into the labyrinth. As a result, the name ‘Sword Saint’ and ‘Saintess’ became more and more fixed to us.
But it's not just the bad things. I got along very well with the people of the town of Grantham.
Maybe the fact that I got along with the enemy country’s residents is wrong but I do not think so personally.
\n
Of course, there’s the part where Clarice had visited the clinic and healed them and that I had stopped the labyrinth from overflowing (labyrinths) to the city so the residents accepted me even though I did not reveal my origins.
In fact, the population increased after handling the overflow (labyrinths) issue.
This was what Gray told me but apparently once a labyrinth overflow (labyrinths) happened, it won’t happen again and that was why the immigrants from other cities increased.
\n
When potions were found in the treasure chests in the labyrinth, they were sold to tool shops after returning to the city and when ingots were found, they were sold to arms shops.
The price of each of these items was rising but it returned to normal after we delivered all the loots.
The toolmakers and arms dealers kept their prices low and everyone in town was happy.
\n
Gray and Erna were no longer wary of me and seemed to trust me completely.
They even started to allow me and Clarice to stay outside the city for her goblin general’s hunt.
\n
To be honest, I thought about staying in the city of Grantham.
I liked the people and the atmosphere of this city and I had become familiar with the city.
\n
“Let’s deplete MP, go back to the spring room one more time, and go home for the day.”
\n
“I agree. I want to quickly take a shower.”
\n
“Yup. We’ll be going to the spring room for another week before giving your barrier magic a try.
After learning barrier magic, we’ll dive into the boss's room and attack this Grantham Labyrinth-...”
\n
“Yes…that's right…we have to conquer it soon...I guess.”
\n
Recently when we talk about conquering the Grantham Labyrinth, the words just fall flat.
Because both of us know it.
We can only stay together until we conquer the Grantham Labyrinth.
We returned to the safe zone and fell asleep, leaning against the wall and huddled together.
\n
After the goblin general hunt, we returned to the town and, as usual, headed towards the tool shops and arms shops while talking with the residents. We went there to deliver potions and ingots.
We no longer had to go to the clinic. Because Clarice had cured everyone's injuries.
After stopping at the tool shops and the arms shops, I was about to return to the Lampard house when I felt something strange.
\n
“Did you feel any eyes on you?”
“No? Is someone following us?”
\n
I said in a small voice. Clarice doesn't seem to feel any discomfort.
It's been happening sometimes lately but it's more like I'm being under surveillance than followed.
I looked around in a way that won’t be noticed but was unable to locate the surveillant.
There’s no reason for those who looked at us with admiration towards Sword Saint and Saintess to hide.
I thought maybe I was just tired.
But I figured that being too alert is better than being defenseless when the worst case happens so I returned to the Lampards’ house while putting my guard up so that I could protect Clarice any time.
\n
Once back at the Lampards’ house, we took a shower and ate a meal.
I paid the Lampard's some money without telling Clarice because I felt bad how I was staying here forever.
My wallet feels warm these days so it wasn't much of an expense.
\n
I looked out the window for a moment. It was now late in the evening.
The feeling before had already disappeared. Clarice was lying down on the sofa in the living room, tired and asleep.
I appraised Clarice.
\n
\n

Unique Ability: Barrier magic (Lv0/A)
Special Ability: Swordsmanship (Lv4/C)
Special Ability: Archery (Lv2/B)
Special Ability: Holy magic (Lv2/A)
\n
It's an amazing level-up progress.
She is already at a higher level than me.
According to Demi-God’s explanation, Innate Talent made it so that the holder requires three times the experience others but I thought that was a lie.
I'll appraise Innate Talent again next time.
\n
Because Clarice uses sword and magic bow (magic arrow), her strength, agility, magic power, and dexterity go up. Also as she takes damage frequently, her endurance also goes up.
Her swordsmanship and archery skills are also improving nicely.
In a week, she will start practicing barrier magic.
\n
My fun time with Clarice is coming to an end.
