âWhat do you mean, âwhatâ? Why are you taking that monster away!?â
She shrieked as if she could not believe her eyes.
I thought it was pretty normal to take it back if itâs not what they wantedâŠ
ââŠWell, since itâs not the target monster, I thought I should take it back.â
âIt-itâs true that it wasnât a Small Tiger⊠But there are quests for that monster too!â
âBut I didnât see any other quests for tiger monsters?â
I had checked every request that was on the board.
And there hadnât been any with the word âtigerâ in them.
Perhaps there was a tiger monster with a name that didnât have âtigerâ in it.
As I considered this⊠The receptionist walked over to the quest board and pulled off a sheet that was in the B-Rank section.
âHere it is!â
She said as she handed it to me⊠It read, âHunt 1 Cannibal Tigre.â
âŠI see.
It said Tigre, not Tiger.
That was annoying, they should just stick to the same spellingâŠ
ActuallyâŠ
âThe reward seems awfully high?â
It was written on the paper. 30 million cicols.
That was completely ridiculous for a normal hunting quest.
Perhaps there was a reason for this.
âItâs a B-Rank monster that has been causing much trouble. Thatâs why it is so high. âŠThis will be quite the achievement for you!â
ââŠI see. I guess Iâm lucky then.â
I was currently a D-Rank Adventurer.
As I had only gained that rank recently, it would be a while before my next promotionâŠbut I suppose I was a step closer now.
âYes! âŠOh, as the prize and experience is divided between participating members, please bring the others when you can!â
Members?
âŠWhat members? I did it on my ownâŠ
I thought. But them I glanced over to my shoulder and saw the slime sitting there.
Ah. Perhaps they counted monsters as members too.
âThis fellow helped me, andâŠanother wolf monster. Should I bring him too?â
No one was scared if I walked around with a slime on my shoulder.
However, as the Proud Wolf âlookedâ like a ferocious monster, I could not bring him into the town.
This seemed like it would be very troublesome
Thatâs what I was thinkingâŠ
âHuh? A wolf? And slimes?â
âYeah. They helped me kill the monster.â
ââŠNot monsters. Humans⊠What about the human Adventurers that fought the monster with you?â
âThey were never there. Iâm a solo Adventurer.â
I had been in a temporary party⊠But it was just around 1 week, I think.
Upon hearing thisâŠthe receptionist looked at me with an expression full of sympathy.
âI see⊠Yes, there are some Adventurers who are like that.â
âI donât think solo Adventurers are particularly rare?â
âNo, I am talking about those sad AdventurersâŠwho lost their comrades in battle and are unable to accept it. So they convince themselves that they were solo all along.â
âŠWhat?
Okay, things were going in a strange direction.
ââŠPlease donât worry about it. The Cannibal Tigre is a strong monster. I think that your deceased friends would have been very proud that you survived at all.â
âŠI see.
So I used to be in a party, but they all fell victim to the Cannibal Tigre, and only I survivedâŠ
Thatâs what she was thinking.
âItâs true. I always work solo.â
ââŠThe guild knows what party every Adventurer is in. You do realize I can find out with a simple check?â
âThen, please doâŠâ
I said as I offered my guild card.
That seemed like it would be less time consuming than further explanations.
