As the slimes and I looked on in shockâŠthe water started to flow outside and towards the streets.
It wasnât a small spot of land, but there was just too much water.
âSlime Water Absorption!â
I quickly shouted. It was magic that made the slimes absorb the water around them.
And then⊠The water that was about to flow out into the streets just disappeared within a few seconds.
âŠWas Slime Water Absorption always this powerful?
ââŠWhat⊠What was that water magic!? I have never seen magic like that before!â
ââŠYeah. What is that?â
âYouâre the one that used it!?â
I had never seen anything like it myself.
And the power of Slime Water Absorption was also strange.
âNo⊠The water magic that I normally use is only about a third as powerful as this.â
âEven a third of this would be ridiculous! âŠWith magic like this, you should be able to kill as many lesser fire dragons as you want!â
âYeah. And I did kill as many as I wanted.â
ââŠThatâs right.â
Upon hearing thisâŠGaiger seemed to remember that he had been the one to buy hundreds of lesser fire dragon gemstones.
He looked surprised for a momentâŠand then grabbed my hands and said in a serious tone:
âYuji⊠Why donât you stay in this town and hunt lesser fire dragons?â
Stay in this town and huntâŠ
I liked the idea of staying in one place. But I would prefer a town with better food.
âŠAlso, that wasnât what we had been talking about.
âIn any case, we should talk about the armor. âŠI guess it has the ability to enhance the power of your magic?â
That was the only explanation.
I had wanted this armor made in order to increase their speedâŠbut the result was something much more frightening.
âSo, you didnât plan to have such features.â
âAye. âŠIn the first place, youâre the only one who has monsters that use magic.â
âI guess thatâs trueâŠâ
Tamers that werenât sages could not use magic through their monsters.
And so there was no way you would make armor for Tamers that increased the force of their magic.
Even my slimes werenât using the magic by themselves.
âDo you think the monster armor was holding up just now?â
âWe-well, I didnât think you would test it with magic that is that powerful⊠But itâs still perfectly fine. It seems like I made some âmonstrouslyâ strong armor.â
Apparently, it could stand magic of that strength.
Hellfire of Death aside, it seemed like it was more than strong enough for normal magic.
ââŠThank you. This armor is amazing.â
âAye! Itâs my best work!â
I accepted the armor and handed him the money.
He charged 1 million for crafting⊠But as before, I was so happy with the results that I wished I could pay more.
âAre you sure this is enough?â
âAye. âŠI already know that Iâm going to make a killing because of you. So I donât feel like charging you extra at this point.â
ââŠMake a killing?â
What could he be talking about?
I donât remember doing anything to help him with his businessâŠ
âDonât you remember? You sold me a lot of high-quality gemstones from lesser fire dragons.â
âI did sell them to you⊠But didnât you pay more than the market price?â
It was about double what the guild would have given me.
If anything, I thought that it was me who had made a huge profitâŠ
âWell, yes. They werenât cheap! âŠBut once they have been processed properlyâŠthey will be even more expensive. Yes, I will make a killing. Iâm looking forward to getting to work.â
ââŠI see.â
Gaiger was a craftsman, and thatâs how he made a living.
And to do that, he needed a lot of materials.
I was glad that I sold the gemstones to him.
It was a better use of resources than if I had just kept them.
âThank you. Iâll gladly accept it.â
âAye! âŠAnd if you find anything else, bring it here to me!â
And with that, I left Gaigerâs shop.
