And so I waited for the Dryad to move away, and then I chanted.
âMagic TransferâCurse Break - Extreme.â
âSu-such powerâŠ! Was that really necessary for some waterâŠ?â
The Dryad shouted after seeing me use Curse Break Extreme.
âŠWell, she was probably right. It was too much.
But I wanted to be certain by using the most advanced magic.
âIt would have probably been fine if I used the normal one. But the last time I did it against a magic stone, monsters started to come out of itâŠâ
âOh, you mean when it happened in my forest?â
âYeah.â
When that had happened, I used Hellfire of Death to deal with them. But it would have meant less magic depletion had I just used Curse Break Extreme in the beginning.
As I thought about thisâthere was a sudden knock on my door.
âHello! Is anyone in there?â
It seemed like the innkeeper.
He sounded quite frantic⊠Had something happened?
âWhat is it?â
âI got a message from the guild! Itâs going to rain! So you better prepare to evacuate!â
âŠRain?
What an odd thing to say.
This inn had a roof, after all.
âWhy would we have to evacuate because of some rain?â
âItâs the Fire DragonâŠ!â
ââŠYou mean that the Fire Dragon is going to go berserk because of the rain and attack the town?â
âThatâs what they are saying at the guild!â
Indeed, rain was a phenomenon involving a lot of water falling from the sky.
But it wasnât a rare occurrence.
Was it that easy to get a Fire Dragon to run wild?
âŠHowever, there was no point in pondering that question now.
Iâd have to go to the guild.
âVery well. Iâll prepare to leave then.â
âGood!â
He said. Then he closed my door and started banging on the next door.
âHello! Is anyone in there?â
He was apparently going to do that with every room.
I observed as I left the inn.
As the slimes carried all of my belongings, there was nothing to pack.
Not only that, but as more than half of the slimes were at the mountain, the slime on my shoulder was quite small.
âIs it raining near the mountain?â
I asked. At the same time, I used Shared Senses to look.
âHmmm⊠Itâs cloudy!â
âIt might start raining!â
They said. I too looked at the clouds.
When I had looked at the sky with Shared Senses earlier, there had not been a single cloud in the skyâŠbut now, there were huge, dark clouds. It looked like it could rain at any moment.
Since when had it become so cloudy?
While that was an interesting questionâŠthe fact remained. It was going to rain soon.
âŠThe slimes might not have enough time to run, if it was after the Fire Dragon went berserk.
The slimes were not fast on their feet, and there was only one hat that made them faster.
So it would be best to have them prepare to evacuate now.
âAll of you. Gather together for now. Proud Wolf, gather all of the slimes together.â
âUnderstood!â
âOkay!â
With the Proud Wolfâs speed, they should be able to escape the Fire Dragon, even if it was running wild.
As we had already gotten rid of the intruders, there was no need to have the security net still up.
âŠThe problem was whether or not the Fire Dragon would really be affected by the rain.
I wondered this as I dashed into the guild.
âWould it really become so destructive over some rain!?â
âAnd even if it did, why would that make it come to the town!?â
It turned out that there were already other Adventurers there who were asking the same questions to the guild workers.
So many people had come for information, and the scene was a bit like pandemonium.
