Chapter 2 – The Trigger\nVolume 1\n<hr class="wp-block-separator is-style-wide">\n\n
To my surprise, the proposal for the study session was accepted.\n
“Risa-chan said that the day after tomorrow, Friday, would be fine.”\n
It was Nishikawa, of course, who told me. The next day, Nishikawa came near my seat and said so.\n
“Thank you, Nishikawa.”\n
“It’s okay. I’ll be happy if she makes more friends, too.”\n
After listening to our conversation, Fujisaki also came to my side. She patted her chest in relief after hearing about consent from Nishikawa.\n
“So we’ve passed the first barrier now.”\n
“Yes.”\n
But I was not satisfied somehow. To be frank, I was 99% sure that the study session would be rejected. I didn’t expect it to be accepted so easily.\n
“Hey, where should we have the study session?”\n
“

, you’re unusually excited.”\n
“That’s right, of course! A study session with Enami-san? I’m excited.”\n
I’m sure Fujisaki, who has always been interested in Enami-san, will be very happy to be able to study with her. However, I was depressed. I didn’t want to study in the same place as Enami-san, whom I didn’t want to talk to.\n
“Oh, Ookusu-kun, you still look uncomfortable.”\n
Fujisaki was getting a little flustered. I explained to her that I didn’t hate it that much, but I shouldn’t have looked so unhappy.\n
“It’s not that. I was just trying to figure out what to do.”\n
We turned to Nishikawa.\n
“By the way, we haven’t decided anything about the study session yet. Then is it okay if we decide it right now? “\n
“Yeah~. I think~ it’s fine

”\n
For some reason, her words were not clear.\n
“The safest place to go would be the library or a family restaurant. However, if the goal is to get to know each other, a family restaurant might be better than a library, where it is difficult to have a conversation.”\n
“As expected of you, Ookusu-kun. I thought so too.”\n
There are several family restaurants near the school. If you don’t want to be seen by other students, you can go to the other side of the station.\n
“Enami-san is not in a club, right?”\n
Nishikawa replied to my question.\n
“Yes, that’s right. By the way, the tennis club I’m in is not strict, so I can skip it.”\n
“My club activities are the same. What about Fujisaki?”\n
“The Badminton club is off on Fridays, so there’s no problem there.”\n
If that’s the case, the time is right after school, no problem. Perhaps they can get together after HR on the way home and go to a diner.\n
“Is that okay, Nishikawa?”\n
“Okay! I’ll let Risa-chan know. However

.”\n
Nishikawa averted her eyes.\n
“Is it okay to meet directly at the family restaurant? I and Risa-chan have no club activities, but I think I’ll be a little late because I have some errands. You can start first ~”\n
“Is that so?  Can’t be helped then”\n
I was rather relieved. On the way to the diner, I had no idea what to say.\n
“Sorry about that
And don’t forget what I said before!”\n
“Don’t get mad?”\n
“Yes. You probably already know this, but she sometimes says things that people don’t like, so be careful. Probably it’s not good for either of you if you confront her directly.”\n
“As long as I’m talking to Enami-san, I’m prepared for that, so don’t worry.”\n
Fujisaki also nodded.\n
“Yes! We requested you to set it up, so it’s fine. And even Nishikawa-san doesn’t have to worry that much. I think the fact that she participates in the study session itself is proof that she doesn’t dislike us to that extent. I’m sure Enami-san wouldn’t say anything strange either.”\n
“Uh~, yeah,

.”\n
I’ve been wondering why we’ve been getting vague replies from earlier. To be honest, I have a bad feeling about this.\n
“It’s just that Risa-chan can be in a bad mood at times, so be careful.”\n
When she said that much, it hit me. I see, that’s why she only says vague things.\n
“Nishikawa.”\n
I raised my eyes and looked at Nishikawa’s face.\n
“You.. you didn’t tell Enami-san that we were coming, did you?”\n
“Gikugokudoki.” (TN: Nishikawa’s reaction sound)\n
“Don’t react so blatantly. The other party will know that they hit the nail in the head.”\n
I knew it. Fujisaki still seemed to be having trouble grasping what was going on, so I explained.\n
“Fujisaki. In short, Enami-san is assuming that Nishikawa and she will have a study session together. That’s because Nishikawa didn’t tell her that the four people, including us, would be having a study session.”\n
“Eh?”\n
The moment Fujisaki looked at Nishikawa, Nishikawa apologized.\n
“I didn’t mean to deceive you. But I couldn’t tell her because I knew she would reject me 100 percent. So I just deceived her a little.”\n
“Nishikawa was right, Enami-san might get angry and say something terrible. That means it’s important to get the study session approved first.”\n
We were back to square one. We were allowed to have a conversation with her, but unless we do a good job, she would probably just leave.\n
“I’m grateful to you, Nishikawa-san, for telling her about the study session. We’ll have to do our best from there on out.”\n
However, I have no idea how to stop Enami-san from leaving. I had a strong feeling that this was going to be troublesome.\n\n
