063 â Haunted Mansion #3
IMPORTANT TL UPDATE: This week was hell week (finals week) and my schedule is jam packed with exams and projects, hence i I wasnât able to update. But like always, Iâm counting the days I missed and pay up the chapters I missed in the following days. For now, I have two.
I hurriedly closed the door and locked all ten locks.
âIâm really in deep shiâ nowâŠ!â
Should I block the window as well?
After all, the window was slightly hidden by a curtain.
However, upon closer inspection, it was not a window at all⊠Rather, it was a picture frame in the shape of a window, depicting the night outside and the reflecting twilight!
This guest room, located on the second floor, had no window and resembled a perfect closed room when the door was closed.
I didnât know why a room like this would be needed, but one thing was certain: I already broke Mirnaâs rules.
And it was going to cause some sort of terrible thingâŠ
What was the big deal anyway?
I sat in bed and tried to keep my composure as much as possible.
Suddenly, someone knocked on my door.
âWe have prepared a meal for you in the dining room. Hurry, the food might get cold.
It was the same voice as Mirnaâs, whom I had been talking to until the afternoon. But I now knew that was not Mirna Draco.
I might have been deceived before. But now, I knew better.
âCommoner, canât you hear that the food is getting cold!? You dare ignore Mirna Von Draco!?
The knocking started again.
âHow dare you not answer, commoner!?
But, it wasnât just someone.
Ddukdduk, ddukdduk, ddukddukdduk, ddukdduk.
The sounds didnât feel like it was from a single person. No matter how I looked at it, there were several hands knocking on my door.
âOpen it! Open the door! Open the door! Open the door! Open the door!
The voice beyond the door didnât seem to have any intention of playing Mirna Draco anymore. Now, it was just some kind of scream or wail.
The cry was mixed with hate, resentment, and many complex emotions. It was similar to a person in a death penalty thatâs being unfairly murderedâŠ
The problem was that the sharp screams of the woman began to pierce through my head.
My Nymph ears were so sensitive that no matter how much I covered them, the screams could still be heard through my hands.
Kwangkwang. Kwangkwangkwangkwang.
The door was going to break!
I had no other choice but to hope that this door would be strong enough to withstand the banging of what was beyond.
Was there anything I could do at all!?
There was a loud explosion. Should I say that it was similar to the sound of a balloon full of air that got pricked by a needle and popped.
âScram to the abyss where you came from.
The sharp scream continued, before finally, silence replaced the hallway in front of my door.
âHuuu, thatâs been taken care of. Hateful Spirit, Iâve heard that this fiend roams the cemetery nearby.
I then heard Mirnaâs ragged voice outside.
âEverythingâs fine now. Youâre free to go out and have your meal, commoner. You can thank me for this.
Right now, I could only trust the late afternoon Mirna that I had seen with my own eyes, and not the Mirna over the door.
She told me not to respond to anyone beyond the door no matter what. In fact, she herself would be entering a retreat after 8 oâclock.
âDidnât you hear that itâs all over? Open the door, commoner.
Someone with Mirna Dracoâs voice knocked on my door.
However, I just sat quietly in the corner of the bed and covered my ears.
âOpen. You open the door. Open the doorâŠ.
âOpen the door! Open the door! Open the door! Open the door! Open the door! Open the door!
Eventually, the situation reverted back to the starting point.
The scene that had just happened, the monster being defeated by Mirna, was just a trick that someone tried to deceive me.
What would have happened if I had been fooled and opened the door?
It was unimaginable, but certainly, something terrible would have happenedâŠ
Hearing the gut-shattering screams and the sound of claws scraping through the door, I was at a loss as to how long I had to bear this.
And I guessed that I wouldnât be able to sleep like this.
Did that mean I have to endure this until the sun rose?
Just then, I felt something approaching the door. At the same time, the screaming existences outside became silent, as if they werenât there in the first place.
All I could hear now was the sound of footsteps.
It couldnât be Mirna because the footsteps sounded quite heavy, like that of a manâŠ
⊠Was there even a man in this mansion?
Just in case, I unwrapped the Imp Tail Wand around the wrist of my right hand like a bracelet.
From being coiled, it quickly hardened into a great weapon.
And this bee had a stinger to protect himself!
Whatever it was, I would be ready.
Just as I made up my mindâŠ
âLognas. NaTomâs Kalli.
