From age 0 to Superstar 93
[From April to June, the most talked-about drama, finally coming to an end.]
[Other broadcasting stations heaved a sigh of relief, but KBC is left with a bittersweet feeling!]
[Popular overseas as well, Plus+’s most talked-about work, No. 1. The Royal Physician!]
[The final episode of KBC’s The Royal Physician, a 41% viewership rating!]
[First Wednesday-Thursday drama to break 40%!]
[Spot on! The Royal Physician, the theory of Hyeo U-seon making a king!]
- It’s been so long since I waited for a drama, now what should I watch? I wish it was April again. :(
- I thought it would be a melodrama with the double of Seongnyeong Daegun, but it seems the doppleganger would be better for treating Hyeo Yu-seon’s trauma.
- I could really empathize with Seongnyeong Daegun because I look just like him. It reminded me of episode 14.
- Haha, Hyeo Yu-seon really tried to make a king, didn’t she? Haha.
From April to June, KBC’s fusion historical drama, The Royal Physician, which ran for a total of 24 episodes over 12 weeks, has come to a grand finale. Many reviews were posted on KBC’s The Royal Physician bulletin board, SNS, and the fan cafe that was created from episode 4.
[Title: Hyeo Yu-seon seems to be an amazing doctor.]
I’m not saying all doctors are like this, just my opinion. I don’t know about social status or loyalty.
There were two times I thought I couldn’t be a doctor. The first was when my family or friends were very sick. I don’t think I could operate on my parents. I’d be too nervous and might make a mistake.
The second was when I had my first patient who died
I still remember it clearly. When I meet patients with the same illness, my heart skips a beat without me even realizing it.
Even with patients I’m not particularly close to, it’s like this, but Hyeo Yu-seon’s first patient who died was Seongnyeong Daegun, the first person she opened up to
It’s really amazing that she didn’t quit and continued to research and eventually succeeded in treating the epidemic (and the patient looked exactly the same as the original!).
[The Royal Physician Special - Full Interview with Producer Choi Min-sung]
Q. In the early Joseon period, it was called the Inner Medicine Room, not the Royal Physician’s Office?
A. Yes, that's correct. However, the title 'Inner Medicine Room' is not familiar to the general public. It’s more intuitive for viewers to think, 'This is something that happens in the palace, and royalty will appear,' just by hearing 'Royal Physician’s Office.'
Q. What happened to Hyeo Yu-seon after that?
A. She traveled around the country doing good deeds (laughs) and then returned to the palace at the call of King Sejong to become a royal physician. She studied diseases diligently.
This is related to the title, as it was around the 25th year of King Sejong. It has been 18 years since the end of the drama. After Hyeo Yu-seon returned, King Sejong renamed the Inner Medicine Room to the Royal Physician’s Office.
Originally, I planned to include this story, but the scene of Hyeo Yu-seon crying at Seongnyeong Daegun’s tomb was so impactful that I decided to end it there.
Of course, the story of the royal physician Hyeo Yu-seon is all fiction.
- From the Annals of King Sejong, June 15, 1443, the second article / Establishing the name and titles of officials of the Inner Medicine Room [Annals of the Joseon Dynasty] - It really exists!
- I like these behind-the-scenes stories. :D
- If it was fiction, Daegun, why didn’t you save her? :(
- But the last scene was good. If it had ended with Hyeo Yu-seon becoming a royal physician without Seongnyeong Daegun, it wouldn’t have been as satisfying.
= I like that it left a lingering feeling. Hyeo Yu-seon becoming a royal physician would have been too closed an ending. By the way, I like closed happy endings. :D

“Strange.”
“What is?”
“I haven’t had Monday blues for three months, but it seems to be back. When will the weekend come?”
“It’s only been 5 minutes since we started work.”
The employees of Monster, led by co-CEOs Kim Hee-sang and Lee Min-joon, were chatting while preparing to work.
“And the Monday blues are probably because of The Royal Physician.”
“Oh, it ended last week.”
The Royal Physician, which aired on Wednesdays, made some of its avid viewers wish for the weekend to end and Monday to pass quickly so that Wednesday would come. There were even people who said they never thought they would look forward to Monday in their entire lives.
But that was all in the past now.
“What do I have to look forward to now?”
“Wait and see. Another interesting drama will come out.”
“That’s true.”
The employee, who quickly regained his energy, checked his emails.
“There are so many today.”
Thanks to Hollywood star Lee Seo-jun, Monster was known overseas. In photos of Lee Seo-jun, products from Monster were almost always present unless they were taken during filming.
In one article, they were even referred to as 'Seo-jun Lee’s signature.' Thanks to this fame, there was a significant buying layer of overseas fans of Seo-jun Lee, and the products were selling quite well.
While reviewing purchase inquiry emails from all over the world, something caught the employee’s eye.
“Halloween festival?”

With no filming, it was a quiet day. Plus, summer vacation was just around the corner. Seo-jun yawned widely while solving problems in his workbook. His sharp mind quickly derived the answers. He had finished his school homework and all the problems he needed to solve for the day.
With nothing left to do, Seo-jun pondered what to do next and picked up the remote control.
“Da-ho hyung is on vacation, and Mom is at the supermarket. Maybe I’ll watch a movie.”
Just then, the phone rang. It was Uncle Hee-sang! Seo-jun’s face lit up.
In January last year, after returning from a film festival, Seo-jun learned that Kim Hee-sang was getting married.
His fiancée was his long-time girlfriend, Choi Soo-hee.
Pianist Choi Soo-hee was active in Europe, while Kim Hee-sang worked in Korea. The two, who were in a long-distance relationship, decided to get married when Choi Soo-hee settled in Korea.
Thanks to Hee-sang’s honeymoon and vacation after the wedding, co-CEO Lee Min-joon was the only one busy.
‘He doesn’t even come to our house much.’
Although a little disappointed, Seo-jun was happy to see Uncle Hee-sang smiling happily. Moreover, he was very excited to hear that a baby would be born soon.
‘If Uncle Hee-sang treats his child like he treats me, he’ll be a great dad.’
Seo-jun genuinely believed this. From when he was a baby until now, Uncle Hee-sang was the best uncle who knew him better than anyone else, in ways different from his parents. If he grew up as Uncle Hee-sang’s child, he would surely be a very happy child!
“Hello!”
- Oh, Seo-jun. What are you doing?
“Finished my workbook and about to watch a movie!”
- What about Eun-hye?
“Mom is at the supermarket!”
- Is that so? Do you have any plans for late October?
“October?”
It’s only July now? Seo-jun checked the schedule Da-ho sent him on his phone. Hmm. It
