The power furnace is installed within the organism.
If this madness continues to erode the modified magical creatures through the pipelines, wouldnât it affect their personality?
Thinking of this, Angel couldnât help but slightly furrow his brows.
He actually held great expectations for the power furnace. If it really could influence the organismâs personality, even if itâs a subtle change, in Angelâs opinion, it would be an indelible flaw.
Hopefully, itâs not as he feared.
Since the power furnace can only be activated within an organism, Angel had no way to continue his research on it for now and could only wait for the Boiling Gentleman to return.
In the lapse of waiting, Angel turned his gaze to the Dalmatian.
He hadnât had the chance to study the Dalmatian previously, and now, with some rare free time, he planned to understand the reason for its latest descent.
At this moment, the Dalmatian was beside the birdcage, barking incessantly at it, as though conversing with the Void Traveler. However, Angel didnât perceive any spiritual power fluctuations between them, evidently suggesting that the Dalmatian was talking to itself, with the Void Traveler ignoring it.
Yet, even when snubbed, the Dalmatian showed no signs of feeling neglected and seemed increasingly excited instead.
Angel walked over to the Dalmatian, patted its head, and asked it when he was sure it was looking at him: "Iâve been meaning to ask you, why did you sneak out this time?"
The Dalmatian barked twice, seemingly responding to Angelâs words.
However, Angel was well aware that the bark this time sounded soulless, lacking any meaning, clearly just being perfunctory.
But seeing the Dalmatianâs clear and innocent eyes, Angel couldnât help but doubt himselfâwas it that he misunderstood and it wasnât just brushing him off?
Angel thought for a moment and decided to communicate with the Dalmatian using spiritual power.
He slowly placed his spirit tentacle on the Dalmatianâs forehead.
This action was actually very dangerous because the foreheads of most magical creatures werenât as sturdy as imagined, and if Angel were malicious, he could even directly manipulate the spirit tentacle to pierce through the Dalmatianâs forehead, crushing its brain.
If it were another magical creature, it would probably have started resisting by now, but the Dalmatian just tilted its head, innocently staring at Angel, showing no suspicion towards his action.
Angel attempted to convey his thoughts to the Dalmatian through the spirit tentacle.
Angel was convinced that this time the Dalmatian should understand him and respond through spiritual power?
However⌠it was like his message was read but not replied to.
Not that it didnât respond at all; the Dalmatian still tilted its head, using its soulless voice, and barked a few times at Angel.
Now Angel understood, his judgment was correct, no matter how innocent the Dalmatianâs eyes seemed, it was undoubtedly brushing him off.
The earlier experiences in Sleepless City gave Angel complete confidence in the Dalmatianâs intelligence.
This guy just simply refused to answer.
Perhaps the Dalmatian thought that barking twice already "replied" to Angelâs question, so it turned its head and looked at the birdcage again, enthusiastically barking at the Void Traveler inside.
Angel narrowed his eyes slightly, and after a while, he spoke again: "Are you interested in this Void Traveler?"
As soon as his words fell, Angel clearly saw a burst of brilliant light in the Dalmatianâs eyes.
The Dalmatian turned its head, panting and wagging its tongue at Angel, then barked non-stop.
Angel could clearly feel that the bark this time was full of soul, completely different from the earlier perfunctory barks at him.
Even though Angelâs understanding of dog language was zero, he could still hear the intention in the Dalmatianâs barkâit was indeed deeply interested in this Void Traveler.
Perhaps, earlier in the laboratory outside, the Dalmatian barking at this direction wasnât signaling the net catching prey, but rather it was because a Void Traveler was captured here?
"Do you want this Void Traveler?" Angel asked.
The Dalmatianâs eyes burst with intense light again, barking more joyfully. It was using actions to express its strong desire for the Void Traveler.
After all, this was caught by the Boiling Gentleman, Angel definitely couldnât presumptuously release the Void Traveler.
So, faced with the Dalmatianâs expectant eyes, he didnât answer but asked another question:
"Why are you interested in it?"
Angelâs inquiry only got two "woofs" from the Dalmatian, with the same soulless qualityâŚ
The Dalmatian was evidently brushing him off again.
This only made Angel more curious; previously he thought that the Dalmatianâs interest in the Void Traveler might stem from "novelty"; just like a cat, having a persistent desire to explore any strange things.
But the Dalmatianâs insincere response made Angel feel that it might not just be out of novelty, but rather there might be something about the Void Traveler that attracts it.
This attraction was so strong that the Dalmatian ignored his question⌠Angel guessed, maybe the Dalmatian assumed he was also interested in the Void Traveler and didnât want to tell him.
Angel thought for a bit, then said: "Iâm not really interested in this Void Traveler. If you want it, I might hint at the Boiling Gentleman later. But first, tell me why youâre interested in it?"
The Dalmatian tilted its head, thought for a moment, then barked excitedly: "Woof woofâ"
"Even though your bark was louder and your emotions more spot-on than before, a bark without soul remains just that."
The Dalmatian barked a few more times, yet they were still meaningless.
Angel sighed; it seemed the Dalmatian really didnât want to say.
"If you wonât talk about that, letâs go back and talk about why you sneaked here?"
This time, the Dalmatianâs bark finally had soul in it, but it didnât bark at Angel nor towards the birdcage, instead, it gazed intently at a point on the dome.
Following its gaze, Angel saw some sparse points of light emerge in the dark void outside the dome.
These light points, though not large, were like fragments of starlight in the endless black void, instantly capturing Angelâs attention.
The lights increased in number and density.
Just when the lights almost covered a large area of the void, they vanished abruptly.
But their disappearance did not signify the end.
On the contrary, it seemed to be brewing a more dreadful sceneâŚ
