Kasukabe Kyo; a handsome, ladies man, 20-year old college student (who is arguably better-looking than me) was complaining that he was getting tired of sex.
“Are you serious? I wish I had that problem. Do you even know how many people you’ve done it with? It’s probably, like, over a hundred since you got into college, right?” my other friend, Horita said, drunkenly placing a hand on Kasukabe’s shoulder. Horita pretended to think about it, eventually saying, man.. I dunno. Hortia was – to say the least – an expert on all sorts of rumours, including who had done it with who, and the prettiest lady on campus.
“Let’s see… I can’t remember.”
“Wow, I bet you don’t even remember their faces, you dog! But you’ve definitely done it with her, right? The top woman? The way you approached her…. Kasukabe, do you know if she’s a virgin or not?”
I wondered whether this conversation was appropriate in this bar, but it was already pretty loud and dirty jokes already made up 70% of the average college student conversation. The reason why I don’t say 90% is because I’m looking for a job.
“Ahh, I don’t remember, but she definitely wasn’t a virgin. I don’t deal with virgins. It’s too troublesome. Machiya, you get it, right?” he said, suddenly turning the conversation to me.

“Really? I kinda like virgins though. Their reactions are cute.” Kasukabe and Horita looked at each other and sighed.
“Machiya, you’re not even dating anyone right now.”
“Well, yeah, but… after they’ve lost their virginity to me, they suddenly want to do it with every other man, so really, I’m doing them a service.”
“Huh? Really? Are you saying they’re sluts?”
“I guess?”
“That’s sick. But anyway, it doesn’t matter how many virgins you do it with if the sex isn’t good… why did I come to drink with you guys again?”
“Because you thought we’d get picked up by some girls, that’s why.”
Horita pouted, knowing that Kasukabe had hit the nail on the head.
“You good-looking guys wouldn’t understand.” He implied that I, too, was good-looking. Even though I’d always fought with Kasukabe over who was better-looking, it looks like I was only fighting with myself. Compared to him, a prince charming from an orthodox school, I was pretty disinterested in chasing women and only had fleeting looks. We were on completely different playing fields.
“And you wouldn’t understand what it’s like to be too popular either. You try having a war scene of women fighting outside your apartment door. It’s a nightmare.”
Kasukabe’s words seemed a little too harsh. Horita thought so too.
“You’re the worst. You’re like, a woman’s enemy – no, an enemy to all of mankind! Machiya, we can get him to pay for our drinks tonight.”
“What? Even if I were to treat you guys, I’d only treat Machiya, since he’s letting me stay in his room. Why do I have to pay for you?”
“It’s a playboy tax! You know you’re at risk for getting a lot of STDs right? And a virgin like me is practically paying for your medical fees.”
“You only pay, like, tax, so shut up. And besides, I’m not going in raw so I definitely don’t have any STDs.”
Although the two were bickering back and forth, they were still really good friends. Kasukabe and Horita were friends from middle school, and I only got to know them after we met at the college school entrance ceremony.
“You with the pretty face over there, wanna join the social club?” Horita asked.
“I’d fit right in,” I replied.
“Hold on, he’s just joking. Horita is really bad at picking up even guys,” Kasukabe interjected.
After that first meeting, we went out to eat together and started hanging out.
Horita’s a bright and easy-going dude. Apart from being sex-crazed all the time, he’s actually interested in more simple things. When he gets drunk, he has a tendency to hook up with people, but he finds it all the more interesting if the hook-up isn’t particularly interested in him.
Kasukabe is sexy beast who’s a bit rough with women. He really uses his looks to their full potential to catch women. He treats women like a game with rules; no going back to the same woman twice. He thinks sex is great, but love is bothersome. Even if he doesn’t really remember her face, he can tell them apart by the attitude they give him. He lays down the rules before he does it – only once, no more, no less. I don’t know if that kills the mood. I’d definitely hate that if I was a woman.
However you wan to put it, Kasukabe is a straight-up player – but the girls he bangs are also players, so there’s a steady market out there for him. Once in a while there’ll be multiple girls that are into him. That’s when things get ugly – they turn into stalkers and fight like cats outside his room. Today there were a number of women outside his door that just wouldn’t budge. He couldn’t even get in, so he’s staying with me tonight. I told him to call the police, but he says that’s going too far. According to him, the same thing happens with the other residents.
The reason he’s staying at my place and not running away with some girl is, as he mentioned early, that he’s “tired of sex”.
I’m kind of worried about Kasukabe staying with me. I’m afraid I’ll make a move on him if things get too quiet. I promised myself I wouldn’t make a move on any close friends – but he’s the one person I might break that rule for.
Besides, the thought of a man who makes me moan as much as he can a woman gives me shivers.
