Ma Cheng finally saw the body up-close. It was a creature with ugly lumps of skin. Its face lacked orifices, and it only had a gaping blood-red mouth. Before Ma Cheng could react, the creature opened its mouth unbelievably wide and bit toward him.

With the creature choking his neck tightly, Ma Cheng could barely move even the slightest. He instinctively pulled his neck back to one side and closed his eyes, thinking that his end had come. To his surprise, not only was he not bitten at all, the grip on his neck loosened up. Ma Cheng quickly retreated before he took a look.

A metal chain had tightened around the creature’s neck.

Ma Cheng was stunned. He looked upward and saw Ye Shaoyang standing on the coffin with his leg against the creature’s back and his hand gripping the metal chain. Ye Shaoyang even had the time to smile at Ma Cheng.

From here, he took another look at the ugly creature under Ye Shaoyang’s leg. This was surreal for Ma Cheng, so he pinched his leg and realized that this was not a nightmare.

“Is this an undead?” Ma Cheng asked in a weak and trembling voice. Just minutes ago, he was a confident and energetic man, but this creature had scared the hell out of him.

“This is a flesh-corpse, a kind of undead.” Ye Shaoyang calmly told Ma Cheng, “Don’t be overly sympathetic toward it. It is only an evil being attached to your great grandfather’s bone marrow. Please allow me to destroy it. Don’t worry, I won’t damage your grandfather’s remains.”

Ma Cheng gathered his courage and took a few steps forward to observe the creature. It was a disgusting sight, with lumps covering its body. White worms swarmed its mouth and the cracks between the lumps. This scene gave Ma Cheng goosebumps.

Even Xiao Ma and Old Guo did not want to look at this disgusting sight.

“These white worms…. What are they?”
