Chapter 22: Misunderstanding

The vacation was over when Sigrid finally filled up the closet in her house.

Revel, the commander of the Second Knight Order, almost did not recognize Sigrid when she entered the office to report after her vacation.

“Report, Sigrid Ankertna returned to the squad after the vacation.”

Revel opened his mouth wide. He also heard the rumors.

“This is incredible.”

If he were not to know Sigrid, he would believe right away if someone said the person in front of him was someone else. The clothes she wore did not inferior to any other nobles.

“Welcome back…. By the way….”

“Yes.”

“There’s a rumor that you’re not feeling well. Are you okay?”

Sigrid tilted her head.

“No, I’m perfectly fine.”

Rather, she was so much better than usual as she ate well, slept well, and exercised. She even felt like she could fight Veramood well right now. But she remembered the Imperial Knights squad. If she did not join the squad, she won’t be able to meet him.

“Then, that’s a relief.” Revel nodded. He thought about the rumor and then looked at Sigrid, he understand why such a rumor had spread. Usually, when someone saw a dramatic change like this, they would think that way.

“Do you have any specific order?”

To Sigrid’s question, Revel answered, “oh.” But he only opened his mouth, then shook his head.

“No, you’re just returning, so take a break until today.”

“Yes, I understand.”

Saying goodbye, Sigrid left the commander’s office room. Then she went to the Second Knight Order quarters and was greeted by the members who were now accustomed to her appearance.

“There are few people today.”

At Sigrid’s words, Morris said, “You didn’t know?”

Sigrid shrugged her shoulders.

“They said a monster appeared near the capital, so some of us go there to take care of it.”

“What?”

“Well, it is impossible a monster appears near the capital, it must be something like a big wild boar. And because of that, there is no way for Imperial Knight to do such miscellaneous work, they leave it to us.”

“Al..kerto..?”

“He is also mobilized there.”

Sigrid stood up and run out.

‘Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!’

BANG!

The door of the commander’s office room opened up, and Sigrid immediately asked, “Which capital city area?”

“Sir Ankertna?” Revel who was drinking his tea, turned his head surprised.

“Where is the location the monster appears in capital?”

“No, it’s not really a big deal. Just take a break today.”

“I’m going to return to my position right now. Please tell me.”

Revel was perplexed by her strong voice, so he gently told her the place. Well, the chore was a job no matter who looked at it, and he knew that Sigrid was really into work and always wanted to go higher, so he just told her. When Sigrid ran out, Revel smacked his lips and saying “Haha.. my..my”

Sigrid spurred her horse fastly.

“Move! Move!”

As Sigrid ran down the street screaming, people cursed at her, but she didn’t care. Because it was today. Today was the day Alkerto died. Capital Guards reported they had found a monster near the capital. Judging that there was no way that a monster would appear in the capital, the superior sent out the Second Knight Order. However, it was actually a real monster. Half of the members who were mobilized there were killed and the other half could avoid death because Alkerto took the charge of the rear and fought until the end. Only then did the First Knight Order come out and catch the monster.

No matter how mighty the Second Knight Order looked was, the squad was the lowest rank among the capital knights. That was why the commoners like Sigrid and Alkerto and the women like Rowen green and Marichez could easily enter. It was a place where people with moderate skill could enter.

Sigrid clenched her teeth.

To appease Echo who was sulking and spitting out foam, Sigrid got of him as soon as she arrived near the location, and run into the mountain, to the exact location.

At the entrance of the mountain, Sigrid encountered some knights.

“Ah, Sir Ankertna!”

“Reinforments?” the faces of the knights carrying the injured were pale.

“What about Alkerto?!”

Everyone shut their mouths at her question.

“Sir Ankertna. Stop.”

Aninta, the vice commander of Second Knight Order, clenched her teeth then stopped Sigrid from climbing the mountain.

Sigrid stopped.

“We need to go find Alkerto.”

“It’s already late. It’s faster to ask for reinforcement. Also, we need more fine hand to move the injured.”

“But…”

Sigrid looked up at the mountain.

Anita then said, “It’s an order. Move the injured and go back to the palace and announce the appearance of the monster.” Anita

“Sigrid clenched her first.

Kaul said, “Well, I’ll ride a horse instead and go to the guard station…”

“You’re tired. The person with the normal condition is Sir Ankertna. Go.”

“I apologize.”

Aninta sighed in response to Sigrid’s apology.

“It’s okay. It’s not that I don’t understand your feelings. However—”

“I would disobey the order!”

After shouting, Sigrid run, up to the mountain.

Aninta looked blankly at the back of the running Sigrid.

Kaul chuckled. Disobey? That strict disciplined Ankertna?

“You..!” Aninta was also perplexed. She clicked her tongue. There was nothing she could do about the person who had already left. Aninta bit her lips, then she ordered her men to move quickly.
