Shi Shengâs rejection appeared to have touched a nerve somewhere for Xi Yin suddenly laughed. He carried Shi Sheng back to his room.
To prevent her from moving, he pressed her down below him, using his legs to pin down one of her hands.
âWhat are you doing?â Shi Sheng furrowed her brows as she looked at him. âIâm already starving and this fellow still pesters me. Is he trying to kill me?â
XI Yin grabbed her other hand and pressed it to her side. Leaning down slightly, he spoke in a voice that held a hint of teasing, âIâll see what youâll do after you drink it.â
âWhat?â
Shi Sheng watched as Xi Yin lifted his wrist to his own mouth, extended his fangs and bit into it. He sucked up a mouthful of blood and under Shi Shengâs odd gaze, bent over to kiss her.
The somewhat cool liquid flowed into her mouth from his. There was no thick bloody smell, only a strange taste.
Shi Sheng couldnât describe the taste, but upon thinking that it was blood, she tried to spit it out. Xi Yinâs tongue pried apart her teeth, held her tongue down and forced all the blood to flow down her throat.
âNo!â Shi Sheng suddenly struggled fiercely.
Xi Yinâs hold was too strong, she couldnât break free. She could only allow that liquid to slide down her throat. Once heâd made sure sheâd swallowed it all, Xi Yin sucked up another mouthful.
âNo! Let go!â A change had occurred in Shi Shengâs tone.
His mouth full of blood, he lowered his head to look at her and was stunned.
There was panic in her eyes.
Heâd never seen that emotion in her eyes before. Or perhaps it was more accurate to say he had never seen much emotion in her eyes at all.
âItâs just drinking blood. Does she have to be soâŚâ
Xi Yin released his grip unknowingly, swallowing the blood that was in his mouth. He reached towards her but Shi Sheng suddenly shrunk back, wariness in her eyes.
Xi Yin felt a sudden burst of pain stabbing at his heart, as if an invisible hand was squeezing it, making his breathing difficult.
âI wonât make you drink.â Xi Yin didnât notice that his tone had become gentler.
Shi Sheng stared at him for a while, as if considering something. After a long time, the wariness in her eyes slowly receded.
Xi Yin pulled her into his arms and brought her to lie down with him on the bed.
Shi Sheng leaned against his chest, her breathing very slow and light to the point it seemed sheâd stopped breathing. Xi Yin placed his hand below her nose to check that she was still breathing.
Right now, Shi Shengâs mind was in a mess, her heart filled with killing intent. But she couldnât bear to harm him. Her bottom line lowered once more for him.
Shi Sheng tightened her grip on Xi Yinâs lapel.
âThis is the last time. It wonât happen again. Thereâs some things he canât touch.â
âIâm sorry.â He hadnât expected her reaction to be so extreme.
Shi Sheng released her hold but didnât reply.
The room fell into silence. Xi Yin didnât know whether she was awake or not but he maintained this posture till daybreak.
The pure white sheets were dyed the colour of blood. By now, the wound on his hand had already healed.
Shi Sheng, who hadnât moved the whole night, clambered out of his embrace, got off the bed, and left the room.
She didnât say a single word throughout.
Xi Yin frowned slightly and followed her out of the room but was greeted by the sight of her door closing in his face.
For the next few days, Shi Sheng ignored him. Though sheâd still wait for him to finish his classes, she wouldnât speak to him.
After having grown used to her frequent flirting, her sudden tameness was a bit discomfiting. But it was true that heâd gone overboard that night. And he didnât know what he should do to mollify her.
Shi Sheng wasnât angry at Xi Yin. She was angry at herself for not being able to get over that mental obstacle. There were some things that she couldnât let go of no matter how hard she tried.
Shi Sheng dragged her exhausted body back to her room but unexpectedly found Xi Yin there, sitting on her bed. Noticing her entry, he immediately got up.
âYouâre back.â
Shi Sheng looked at him. âYes?â
âIf itâs because of what happened that night, you donât have to apologise. I donât blame you.â The problem was with her, how could she blame him? After all, it had been for her sake that heâŚ
She looked away. âI want to rest. You should head back to your room.â
âYouâŚâ Xi Yinâs mouth opened but he probably didnât know how to express his thoughts. After a brief struggle, he reached out to unbutton his shirt.
âWhat are you doing?â Shi Sheng held his hand still, her tone a bit displeased.
Xi Yinâs face was slightly flushed and his speech was a little more broken up than usual. âIf this⌠can make you feel better⌠I⌠Since weâve already⌠Anyway I can only have one partner for lifeâŚâ
âEven if she dies, I wonât have a new partner.â
Shi Sheng gave him an odd look. âIs he planning on making me feel better with sex?â
âThen do you like me?â
Xi Yin pursed his lips and didnât speak.
Seeing her unhappy made him unhappy too. ThisâŚwas probably what liking someone was? Ever since the day that inexplicable familiarity appeared, he felt like getting closer to her. ButâŚ
Shi Sheng took her hand back. âLetâs talk about this after you actually like me.â
Xi Yin lifted his head to look at her, his fingers still clutching onto a button. Shi Sheng sighed as she approached him to help him button his shirt back up. She then stood on her tiptoes to plant a kiss on his face. âItâs been my own problem these past few days. I just need some time to get over it. I like you and want to have you, but I wonât dishonour you for any reason. The last timeâŚnothing happened between us.â
Xi Yin was surprised.
âGo back to bed.â Shi Shengâs lips tugged into a smile.
Xi Yin lowered his head. Because of the matter where heâd thought sheâd used despicable means to obtain him, heâd always felt disgusted. Yet now she was telling him that nothing had happened between them.
He suddenly felt a bit disappointed. As to what he was disappointed about, he didnât know either.
Xi Yin disappeared once more.
Shi Sheng only discovered this the next morning.
She couldnât find him at home or at school. And since Xi Yin didnât have a phone, Shi Sheng had no way of contacting him.
She felt a headache coming on. âSo this guyâs the type that disappears at every disagreement? Oh come the fuck on. Just what kind of weirdos do I(bbb) keep getting involved with?â
âŚâŚ
Shi Sheng was already not in a good mood. Xi Yinâs disappearance only served to worsen it. And to top things off, she was intercepted at school.
The person blocking her way was none other than the FL.
It was probably because she hadnât been showing herself recently, causing Plot-sama to be dissatisfied. After all, as a supporting female villain, not causing trouble for the leads was unacceptable.
âMi Nai, you did it, didnât you?â
Ai Weiâs question came from nowhere, befuddling Shi Sheng.
âWhatâd I(bbb)Â do? FL-sama, donât unreasonably stir up trouble, okay?â
âWhy arenât you saying anything? Got nothing to say, eh?â Ai Wei spoke with a righteous expression.
Shi Sheng, ââŚâ
âI(bbb)Â donât even know what the hell youâre talking about, what do you want me(bbb)Â to say? That Iâm(bbb)Â pretty as a flower?â
Shi Sheng couldnât help but roll her eyes at the FL and circled around her to head into the building. âReason? With the FL? Quit joking! Everyone knows only the FLâs logic is right. No matter how much you say, itâs about as effective as a bloody fart.â
âMi Nai, stop right there!â Ai Wei once again extended her arm to block Shi Shengâs path.

âHey! The FL-samaâs gotten gutsier! Didnât she use to run off whenever she saw me? Does she have someone backing her now? Probably planning on setting me upâŚ
Ah how treacherous the human heart can be. Please! Iâm still a baby!
âŚI should just ignore her.â
Shi Sheng speedily left. Ai Weiâs body was that of a normal humanâs, so she naturally was unable to keep up.
Shi Sheng was afraid she wouldnât be able to keep her violent tendencies under control if she got into an argument with the FL.
