Only after making her arrangements did Shi Sheng have time to go persuade Fu Qin. When Shi Sheng arrived, it became obvious that the Fu Family had already told Fu Qin about it. Everyone was on tenterhooks, and no one dared to approach Fu Qinâs room.
Uncle Jian and the group of bodyguards stood at the foot of the stairs, worried expressions on their faces.
They looked at Shi Sheng as if she was their savior and brought her to Fu Qinâs room without delay.
Fu Qinâs room was dark, the black curtains drawn to prevent any sunlight from making its way inside. The only source of light came from a laptop playing a muted video on the bed.
Fu Qin sat there, his head slightly tilted as he watched the video. His expression held a gentleness Shi Sheng had never seen before.
Shi Sheng shut the door and slowly walked over to Fu Qin. She could clearly see the video on the laptopâs screen.
In the video, there was a cute child around 5 to 6 years of age. He was tied to a chair, his breathing uneven from excessive sobbing.
On another chair, a woman was tied up. The woman seemed to be saying something, trying to comfort the boy.
The scene seemed to shake a bit as half of a manâs body appeared. Though his face wasnât visible, from the womanâs enraged and disgusted expression, it was clear he was speaking.
Pa!
The laptop was suddenly slammed shut, and the room sank into darkness.
Whoosh!
Brilliant light chased away the dark shadows. Fu Qin turned his head robotically, his expression dead.
In the sunlight, the young woman stood. She was like the light she let in, charging into the shadow-filled world.
Into his world.
Fu Qin suddenly stood up. He walked towards Shi Sheng and stopped a few paces away. His pitch-black eyes stared solely at her, never moving away. Shi Sheng frowned slightly. âWhat does he want?â
Fu Qin slowly leaned down, his handsome face inching closer to Shi Shengâs.
He reached out, his hand cautiously approaching Shi Sheng. Shi Shengâs brows furrowed deeper. She pondered over tossing him or not.
Right as Fu Qinâs hand was about to touch her face, he suddenly turned.
Whoosh!
The room suddenly sank into darkness once more.
Feeling something lunge for her, Shi Sheng instinctively dodged to the side. She had forgotten, however, that the bed was there; she tripped and fell onto the soft bed. After that, a heavy object pressed down on her.
âFu Qin!â âYou death-courting idiot!â
Fu Qin didnât say anything. He simply scooted off her, then burrowed into her arms, tightly trapping her waist against his. He seemed very insecure.
Shi Sheng, ââŠâ âThe hell do you take me for?! And where do you think youâre putting your face?! Youâre acting up even without eating your medicine?!â
Shi Sheng attempted to pry his paws off, but Fu Qin held on with so much strength that even after a long struggle, Shi Sheng still hadnât managed to escape his clutches. On the contrary, their positions ended up looking more and more ambiguous the more she struggled.
Shi Sheng didnât dare to move. Fu Qinâs age was at that hot-blooded, impulsive period. Itâd be better not to do anything to tempt him.
After who knows how long, Fu Qinâs slightly hoarse voice spoke up, âWill you⊠go abroad with me?â
âYes.â
âI have a quest to complete, of course I have to go. Even if itâs a path filled with mountains of knives and oceans of fire, I(bbb)Â still have to go.â
âThereâs only a 50% chance of success. Perhaps Iâll die on the operating tableâŠâ Fu Qin paused. âIt would be an unsightly scene.â
âSo⊠your focus is on the fact that youâll die an ugly death?!â Shi Sheng fell silent for a while. âYou donât think the way youâre living right now is unsightly?â
Fu Qin was silent for a long while. In the quiet room, the only sound that could be heard was their breathing.
Finally, Fu Qin slowly released Shi Sheng and got off the bed. He pulled the curtains apart, allowing sunlight to light up the room.
Fu Qin stood under the warm sunlight and reached out a hand. The light fell onto his hand, his white fingers turning slightly translucent.
All of a sudden, he turned, his pitch-black eyes seemingly dyed gold from the sunlight, and spoke while emphasizing each word, âI want to live.â
âIf only for the sake of being able to see you.â

Shi Sheng opened the door only to be greeted by a crowd of burning eyes, startling her and making her retreat a step.
Uncle Jian and the bodyguards also started, and they swept their suspicious and worried gazes into the room.
âMs Bei, our Young MasterâŠâ âDid you take him there and then?â
Though she couldnât put her finger on it, Shi Sheng felt that something was off about the way they looked at her. So, she gave her signature evil smirk. âI killed him. Go and clean up.â
Uncle Jian and the bodyguard team, ââŠâ âThis joke isnât funny at all⊠We can see the Young Master standing right there!â
âMs Bei, youâre not planning to avoid taking responsibility, are you?â One of the less tactful bodyguards spoke.
Shi Sheng stared at him in utter confusion. âTake responsibility?â
That bodyguard pointed at her, pointed inside, and finally making a gesture everyone knew the meaning of.
Shi Sheng, (||| ÂŹ_ÂŹ)
âThese people think I forced myself on Fu Qin! Puh-leaseâŠâ
Shi Sheng looked down at her clothes. âOkay, I guess it could be easy to misunderstand thisâŠâ
Shi Shengâs expression didnât change while she straightened out her clothes.
âŠInside, though, she was shouting. âIâm innocent, okay?! Even if I was that desperate, I wouldnât go for someone who isnât even of age yet!
Whatâs with that âyouâre a bad guyâ expression on your faces?!â
After taking some deep breaths, Shi Sheng calmly walked out of the encirclement. âBetter not try and explain this. Itâll only be more troublesome.â
Shi Sheng didnât know that because of her unwillingness to explain, once Uncle Jian and company finally mustered up the courage to ask Fu QinâŠ
âŠHe agreed through silence!
Agreed through silence!
Hence, Shi Sheng became known as a âbad guyâ.

When it was time to arrange for a passport, Shi Sheng discovered something important: she didnât have her resident card!
âSo I guess I have to destroy the Bei Family before I leave after all, huh? Thereâs too little time though, not enough for me to properly plan it outâŠâ
âUnless I go blow up their place.â Shi Sheng weighed the pros and cons for a while, but in the end she decided to go the normal route. First, she called the Fu Family to confirm their plans before starting to arrange her own.
The normal route was to kidnap Father Bei and Mother Bei⊠Just what part of this was normal?!
âBei Zhi, you ingrate! We raised you for so many years, yet this is how you repay us!â Mother Bei had been cursing ever since she had gotten kidnapped.
âShe just keeps repeating the same lines over and over again. How boring.â
To Shi Sheng, Mother Beiâs words pretty much went in one ear and out the other. Shi Sheng was utterly relaxed as she sent a text message to Bei Ze:Â My resident card, for your parents.

In all honesty, this had to be the most ridiculous kidnapper ever. She went through all the trouble of kidnapping two grown humans for the sake of a fucking resident card?!
After she had sent the text message, Shi Sheng looked up from her phone, and at Mother Bei. âMrs Bei, if I were you, Iâd shut up. After all, right now your life is in my hands.â
âPei! White-eyed wolf! Little slut! Just you wait, I wonât let you off!â
âBei Zhi, just what are you planning?â Father Bei was much more level-headed than Mother Bei.
âOh, nothing much. Just wanted to invite you guys here to enjoy some shade, and maybe have a nice chat.â Shi Shengâs expression was very innocent.
