Chapter 9: Horror
Although it was close to dawn, the sky was still dark, especially with the rare heavy fog that enveloped the mountains and forests, making everything white and invisible.
This atmosphere was already tense, and the sudden scream of the young man at this moment made people's already taut nerves almost unable to bear it.
"Ah..."
The few people who had come out of the carriage together, two of them were so frightened that they stepped back, almost sitting on the ground, and couldn't help but scream in fear.
"What are you yelling for, trying to scare us to death?!" Zhou Quan glared, he was also very scared, the hair on his neck stood up.
"What did you see?" Chu Feng asked. He was walking with Zhou Quan, still a short distance away from the others. The heavy fog made it impossible to see anyone more than a few meters away.
"Clack... Clack..." The man's teeth were chattering, his lips trembling in fear. He pointed at the air, his legs not responding, trying to step back but frozen in place.
"There's a dark shadow there, I saw it!"
"What is it?"
The two people who had been frightened earlier also looked up, their voices trembling, and their bodies staggered as they quickly retreated, trembling with fear.
At this moment, the train could no longer remain calm. People inside heard the noise outside, and some women immediately screamed, causing a panic.
This place was an ancient battlefield, where many people were said to have died in the past. Now, with the heavy fog and the mysterious loss of communication with the outside world, how could it not be terrifying?
Some people screamed out of fear.
"Before you can even see clearly, what are you yelling about, what's so scary!" Chu Feng shouted.
He and Zhou Quan walked over together, vaguely seeing a dark shadow hanging in the air, very blurry, obscured by the fog.
"Ah!"
The man who had screamed earlier yelled again. He was closest to the dark shadow in the air, directly below it. He lost control, sat on the ground, and rolled and crawled away, as if he had been terrified by the most horrifying thing.
"Blood, blood, I saw it!"
His legs had been stiff earlier, but now, after the intense shock, he could finally move, rolling and crawling away.
"Heaven, there's blood on your face!"
The two people nearby saw the blood on his face and were also terrified. The situation was extremely eerie, making their scalps tingle as if they were about to split.
"It's not mine, it's from there, dripping from him!" The man, who was extremely frightened, pointed at the air, his face full of terror.
"There really is a smell of blood!" Zhou Quan whispered.
Chu Feng rushed over in a few steps and saw the dark shadow in the air, which looked like a person hanging there, black and dripping blood.
"A ghost, a ghost hanging in the air!"
The man who was severely frightened shouted, extremely terrified. He got up and ran back to the carriage, and the other two also fled with him.
Zhou Fatty felt a chill on his back, but he steeled himself and came close to Chu Feng, not fleeing with the others, showing some courage.
"Someone really died here, was it murder?" Zhou Quan looked up.
There was a pool of blood on the ground, and the dark shadow in the air was hanging, swaying in the wind. It was a corpse, still dripping blood.
"How could he be hanging in the air?" Chu Feng felt a chill, even though he was brave, he still felt a cold wave.
"Yes, it's quite a distance from the trees, how could he be hanging in the air!?" Zhou Quan widened his eyes and stepped back, also feeling uneasy.
The people on the train, hearing their conversation, became even more afraid. There were women's terrified screams and weak cries, a scene of panic.
"A ghost... a ghost hanging in the air!" The young man who had fled to the train first was pale, muttering, especially with the blood on his face, looking very sinister.
He made the atmosphere on the train even more terrifying!
The train was stopped in the mountains, where many people had died in the past. With the heavy fog and such an eerie scene, how could it not cause panic?
"Don't be afraid, it's just a corpse, no ghosts!" Chu Feng spoke loudly, trying to calm everyone down.
Zhou Quan also calmed down, as standing there didn't seem dangerous. His courage grew, and he shouted, "If he keeps yelling and scaring people, throw him out."
In fact, Chu Feng and Zhou Quan were also unsure.
Because the corpse hanging in the air had long, thick hair covering its face, swaying in the wind, a truly terrifying sight.
"Come down, a few strong guys, let's take him down and see how he died. It's just a corpse, what's so scary." Zhou Quan shouted.
Actually, he was also scared, and called more people to boost his courage.
Seeing their calmness, the others also calmed down, not as terrified.
Soon, a few tall, strong young men got off the train and stood with the two, looking at the mysterious dark shadow hanging in the air.
Chu Feng climbed onto the roof, where he could see more clearly. If they wanted to take the corpse down, this was the only place they could reach.
When he stood there, Chu Feng's heart sank because the person's clothing was completely out of place in modern times, looking like an ancient person!
The long, thick hair covering the head made it even more terrifying.
Is something strange really going to happen? He was a bit worried.
Zhou Quan also climbed up, though he was fat, his physical condition was quite good, and he didn't seem clumsy, climbing up quickly.
The other strong young men, seeing this, grew bolder, feeling safer in numbers, and followed one by one.
"Is this... a movie set, what is he wearing?!" Zhou Fatty, seeing the person clearly, was almost scared into cursing.
"He... who is he, why is he dressed like that?!" A young man looked uneasy.
"I feel like this is an ancient person, could he be buried in this battlefield, how did he end up hanging in the air?" Another person said.
These words made everyone on the roof feel a chill, their bodies covered in goosebumps, the area becoming cold.
"Is that... a chain? How could it be hanging from the sky, that's impossible!"
Zhou Fatty couldn't stay calm, he tugged at Chu Feng's sleeve and whispered, "Brother, we can't handle this, let's leave quickly!"
The fog was thick, everything was unclear.
In the air, there seemed to be thick, arm-sized chains hanging down, the corpse hanging, making everyone's scalp tingle, like a scene from hell.
The others, hearing Zhou Fatty's words, changed their expressions, turning to jump off the train, feeling uneasy and scared.
"It's fine, it's just vines, not chains."
Chu Feng spoke at the right moment, shocking everyone.
"Mountain vines, how did they grow here?" Zhou Fatty was suspicious, looking closely, seeing some leaf-like things on the chains in the fog.
"It seems to be vines." Someone nodded, breathing a sigh of relief.
"Maybe this person fell from the mountain, these actors are really dedicated, risking their lives." A tall young man shook his head.
Chu Feng took off his shirt, grabbed a sleeve, and swung it, wrapping it around a vine. He pulled hard, bringing it closer.
The corpse immediately swung and moved.
"Ah..." Two people were very scared.
"Brother, you have a lot of courage, just doing it like that?" Zhou Fatty was startled but quickly calmed down and helped.
"Come on, everyone, give a hand!" Zhou Quan called the others.
The others, though reluctant, came over, not wanting to touch the corpse.
Chu Feng was stunned because, as he pulled the vine, he saw an ancient and shocking object.
It was a short sword, completely black, without any shine, like black gold, held in the corpse's hand, never letting go even in death.
They untangled the vines and brought the corpse down.
"There's a sword too?" Everyone was surprised.
Chu Feng pried open the man's hand, taking the black gold short sword, feeling quite shocked. The sword was only a little over a foot long but very heavy.
"Let me see, wow!" Zhou Fatty took it, his hand shaking, almost dropping the black sword. "How can it be so heavy?"
The others were a bit reluctant to touch the sword, watching the corpse.
"Let's put him on the ground." Zhou Quan handed the short sword to Chu Feng and called the others to help move the corpse.
Soon, some people from the carriage came out, surrounding the corpse on the ground, feeling a chill and confusion.
It was a tall man, dressed in a way that was completely out of place in this era. His wound was very fatal, a large, fist-sized blood hole in his chest, still dripping blood.
"This looks like it was caused by a large, sharp weapon, even the ribs were cleanly severed, leaving a terrifying blood hole." Someone whispered.
It was too gruesome, the women on the train couldn't bear to look.
"Brother, why aren't you coming down?" Zhou Quan called to Chu Feng on the roof.
Chu Feng waved him over.
Zhou Fatty came up again, following Chu Feng along the roof.
"Look!" Chu Feng pointed.
In the air, there were thick, arm-sized vines hanging down, easily within reach.
"How can there be so many mountain vines, growing here, if this continues, the train won't be able to pass." Zhou Quan grumbled.
"This doesn't look like mountain vines, because when the train stopped yesterday, I saw the mountains were quite far away, the vines couldn't have grown here." Chu Feng said, looking up.
Zhou Quan's eyes widened, shocked, "Not mountain vines, then did it fall from the sky?!"
He looked up, just like Chu Feng.
But the fog was too thick, everything was white, nothing could be seen.
Chu Feng, holding the black gold short sword, pushed aside the low-hanging vines, stepping on the roof, and continued forward.
Suddenly, he stopped, his body stiff, his pupils contracting, extremely shocked, his nerves taut.
"Why did you stop?" Zhou Fatty said, stepping closer.
In an instant, he was almost petrified, his body stiff, and finally, he couldn't help but curse.
"Damn! Was it this thing that caused the violent shaking on the roof in the middle of the night?!" He couldn't believe his eyes, just like Chu Feng, extremely shocked, then stunned.
The thing was wrapped in vines, hanging on the roof.
Zhou Quan looked up, as if in a daze, "This is... a satellite, wrapped in vines, hanging from the sky?!"
He found it hard to believe, unable to accept it.
