The night was dark, with clouds covering the sky.
Along the way, the roar of wild beasts could be heard from time to time, and fierce birds could be seen soaring in the mountains, their sharp silhouettes cutting through the darkness.
Chu Feng looked up; he sensed the agitation of these animals and believed that some of them might have undergone mutations, but they were still in a state of dormancy.
What would happen in the future? No one could say for sure, but he was mentally prepared and not afraid of the potential crises.
The journey was over a hundred miles, with many large mountains along the way. If an ordinary person were to walk alone, they would feel a suffocating sense of fear.
But Chu Feng was not afraid; he was calm and composed, moving through the mountains and forests at a very fast pace.
Soon, the clouds dispersed, and the sky above cast a gentle light, dispelling the darkness. The wild beasts no longer agitated, making the atmosphere less oppressive.
The stars twinkled like pearls, shining brightly, embedded in the sky.
"It's been so long, the ox shouldn't be able to smell anything, right?" Chu Feng was approaching Qingyang Town, almost home.
He decided to bribe the ox!
"Boss, give me 150 skewers of beef!" Upon entering the town, Chu Feng saw the skewer stand and walked over quickly.
"There's no beef, only mutton!" The young man looked at him, finding it strange. He had never sold beef skewers before, thinking Chu Feng was just causing trouble.
"I made a mistake, I meant mutton, 150 skewers." Chu Feng felt guilty and glanced towards the east of the town, where his home was.
"I don't want money, just food!" The young man insisted.
Because, strange phenomena were appearing everywhere, and the roads were blocked. People valued useful items more and had little faith in currency.
"We're not very close, but we know each other. Just grill them for me, and I'll bring the food tomorrow." Chu Feng said.
The young man was straightforward, as they were from the same town, and he wasn't worried about Chu Feng defaulting. He also knew Chu Feng a bit.
"How long have these been frozen? They haven't gone bad, right?" Chu Feng asked in a low voice.
The young man felt a bit guilty and said, "It should be fine."
"Fine is good enough!" Chu Feng patted his shoulder, acting very generous and carefree, as if he wasn't worried about getting sick.
Finally, a large bag of skewers came out, sprinkled with cumin and pepper, smelling very fragrant.
"Don't eat too much, I won't be responsible if you get diarrhea!" The young man was a bit worried.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine. My stomach is very strong!" Chu Feng was unconcerned and looked at the freezer behind him, saying, "Bring a few bottles of beer."
In the end, Chu Feng carried two large bags of things, and before entering his home, he gulped down beer, mainly worried about the ox's sensitive nose.
"Ox, look what I brought back for you." As soon as he entered the yard, Chu Feng shouted.
The ox appeared, looking at him suspiciously, thinking he was up to no good. Then it saw the large bag of skewers in Chu Feng's hand and immediately looked down, showing disdain.
"What do you mean? I brought you food with good intentions, and you're still looking at me with contempt." Chu Feng glared.
The ox, hearing this, became furious, scratching words on the ground to question Chu Feng.
"You went to see the goddess and had a French meal. What did you bring back for me? Cheap, low-quality street food, trying to fool me?!"
Then, the ox's nostrils started to emit white smoke.
Chu Feng felt guilty and secretly thought, this ox is getting harder to fool, ever since it learned to use the internet.
But at this critical moment, he could only be stubborn.
He said righteously, "What do you know? The true delicacies are found in the countryside. Those so-called high-end meals are just a waste of money and don't taste good at all. Don't believe me? Try it!"
As he spoke, he prayed not to get sick, then bit his teeth, closed his eyes, and started eating, shouting, "This is the best food in the world!"
The ox was suspicious, seeing his enjoyment, and was tempted by the fragrant smell.
Finally, it couldn't resist the temptation, moved closer, picked up two skewers with its hooves, and swallowed them in a few bites, eyes widening and mooing.
Chu Feng was startled, becoming very alert and defensive.
"All mine!" The ox scratched these words on the ground, then pushed Chu Feng aside and sat down to enjoy the food alone.
"Ungrateful ox!" Chu Feng scolded.
"Moo, moo, moo!" The ox called out, looking very pleased, eating the skewers greedily, with oil dripping from its mouth.
In fact, the skewers tasted great, and the young man was very skilled. If not for the worry about the storage time and the risk of getting sick, Chu Feng would have fought the ox for them.
Understanding the situation, he didn't dare to take the risk, so he handed all the skewers to the ox and patted its shoulder, saying, "See, I'm a good friend, right?"
The ox extended a front hoof, shook it, and looked down, showing disdain!
"You ungrateful ox!" Chu Feng drank from his bottle.
The ox looked at the bottle in his hand, extended its hoof, and wanted one too. But after just one sip, it spat it all out.
It glared, "What kind of lousy beer is this?"
"What do you know? This is the best beer in the world, the most popular." Chu Feng said.
The ox grinned, knowing about Lafite and Romanée-Conti, mocking Chu Feng for drinking the cheapest beer.
Chu Feng was speechless, saying, "I'll confiscate your communicator later!"
He muttered, this ox had figured everything out through the communicator, making it hard to trick in the future.
In the end, the ox ate over a hundred skewers, very satisfied, lying on a rattan chair in the yard, looking up at the stars, very content.
"Ox, come, take some medicine." Chu Feng walked over.
The ox looked back at him, very confused, showing doubt.
"Xieliting, for diarrhea, take two tablets as a precaution." Chu Feng said guiltily.
What do you mean? What's going on?! The ox sat up, staring at Chu Feng with its big eyes.
"Health supplement, good for your body." Chu Feng said confidently.
The ox wasn't stupid, thinking for a moment, and became furious. It was indeed cheap street food, and after eating the skewers, it had to take medicine immediately. How outrageous, bullying the ox too much!
It lunged at Chu Feng, ready to fight.
The yard was in chaos, and it took a while to calm down.
The ox, still angry, ran back to its room.
Chu Feng, gritting his teeth, had been kicked several times. Fortunately, his body was very strong, or he might not have been able to get up.
He went to the bathroom, took a hot shower, and felt very tired after the day's journey between the county and Qingyang Town, and the fight with the ox.
When Chu Feng entered his room, he was already half-asleep, didn't turn on the light, and fell onto the bed, falling asleep immediately.
Suddenly, he woke up, all sleepiness gone.
And a muffled groan came from the bed, as if someone had been hit.
Chu Feng's hair stood on end. Someone was on the bed, and he quickly retreated, then turned on the light.
What's going on? He was stunned!
There was indeed someone on the bed, a very beautiful woman, who seemed to have been woken up by the impact, frowning and opening her eyes, looking a bit confused.
"Who are you, sneaking into my room in the middle of the night, trying to assault me?!"
This was Chu Feng's voice, speaking righteously, trying to take the initiative. He didn't want to hear a woman, especially a beautiful one, screaming in his room.
When he looked closely, Chu Feng's heart skipped a beat. The woman was not just beautiful but exceptionally so, around twenty years old, wearing a white top and pants, with smooth hair cascading down to her white neck, a sweet and youthful face.
She was fully awake, clearly not an ordinary person, very calm after the incident, her beautiful eyes sharp, looking around the room, quickly regaining her composure.
She felt a pain in the back of her head, frowned slightly, and gently touched it, then asked Chu Feng, "Did you knock me out and bring me here?"
"When did this happen? If I had such intentions, would you still be unharmed?!" Chu Feng denied, not wanting to take the blame.
"Why are you here?" the young woman asked, though calm, she was still a bit nervous after waking up, checking herself.
"I was about to ask the same. When did you come in, and why are you on my bed? What do you want to do to me?" Chu Feng asked calmly, his thick skin an advantage.
The beautiful woman raised her eyebrows, thinking, am I that bad? But she held back, not losing her temper.
"Wait a moment, I need to calm down."
Chu Feng rushed downstairs to the ox's room.
The ox was still sulking, almost losing its temper when it saw him, but Chu Feng managed to calm it down.
"Why is there a woman in my room? Did you... offer her to me?"
The ox raised a hoof, showing disdain.
Finally, Chu Feng understood what had happened.
In the evening, the ox went to bury its "treasure" in the orchard and found a woman wandering around the area, a strange person.
It thought she might be looking for trouble with Chu Feng.
Indeed, the woman eventually headed towards Chu Feng's yard.
Without a word, the ox quietly followed, rushed behind her, and kicked her, causing her to faint.
"You really went all out." Chu Feng clicked his tongue.
The ox thought, "You even killed a beautiful woman," knowing about Chu Feng's trip to the county from the communicator.
"Then, you threw her into my room?" Chu Feng asked.
The ox, unusually embarrassed, realized later that other strange people had appeared, wanting to stay in Qingyang Town. It had overreacted, hitting the woman for no reason.
"You caused trouble, throwing her on my bed?!" Chu Feng glared at it.
People can communicate better! The ox wrote this, then pointed to the door, indicating Chu Feng should leave quickly.
Finally, Chu Feng returned to his room, looking at the incredibly beautiful woman, feeling very impressed.
The young, beautiful woman had adapted, very calm, standing by the window, looking up at the stars.
Chu Feng didn't know how to explain, saying an ox had knocked her out, who would believe that!
He couldn't really bring the ox over, or it would cause a big problem.
"Do you have any food?" the beautiful woman asked.
Chu Feng was surprised; she didn't seem to be accusing him but was very calm, asking for food.
"Yes, in the yard." Chu Feng said, where there were still some skewers.
The woman smiled, looking even more beautiful, and said, "You're not a strange person?"
"The one who attacked me was a strange beast. I sensed it at the last moment; it was very strong and dangerous." The woman's words reassured Chu Feng, at least she wouldn't blame him.
"You keep a strange beast?" she asked softly, smiling, her eyes curved, watching his reaction.
"No way!" Chu Feng denied.
As they walked to the yard, the woman frowned, clearly not used to street food, but she seemed really hungry and picked up a skewer.
She ate very delicately and elegantly, even with skewers. Chu Feng guessed she came from a distinguished family, showing a certain etiquette and manners.
After eating a bit, the woman took out her communicator, frowned slightly, and started sending messages.
"I should leave now. They've been worried about me for so long. I'll come back to settle accounts with that strange beast!" The woman said, then rose into the air, a pair of white wings appearing behind her, shining brightly, making her look like a pure and elegant deity.
Her hair, cascading down to her white neck, was blown by the wind, her eyes sharp, her white top and pants making her look even more ethereal, almost otherworldly.
"Wait a moment." Chu Feng called out.
The young woman turned back, exceptionally beautiful and now very pure, smiling, her whole body radiating a gentle and mysterious light in the air.
"What is it?" she asked softly.
"Take this!" Chu Feng threw a bottle into the air.
"What is it?" the woman asked, puzzled, holding it, her beautiful face showing confusion, her white wings glowing.
"Xieliting!" Chu Feng informed.
The young woman, hearing this, trembled slightly, even with her sweet face, her eyes showing a hint of anger. She ignored Chu Feng, flapped her wings, and flew away.
"Don't throw it away, keep it well!" Chu Feng shouted.
In the air, the woman paused, clearly restraining herself, then disappeared.
Soon, she met up with some other strange people.
"Thank goodness, we couldn't contact you, we thought the Tian Shen Bio people had set a trap and ambushed you."
Some people seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.
