『Fire Bullet』
In front of Cain’s outstretched hand, five fire bullets, burning with a bluish-white flame, were floating and rotating violently.
“Tch. A mage, huh? Everyone, scatter.”
The adventurers who had surrounded him scattered in all directions.
“I’m going to fire. Try not to get hit! Alright, here we go.”
The bluish-white fire bullets flew towards the adventurers. By intentionally slowing them down, all the adventurers managed to dodge the magic.
Three of the fire bullets that were dodged hit the wall on the spectator side, two hit the ground.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The fire bullets hit three walls and blew them away along with the spectator seats. The places where the outer walls had been were now piles of rubble, revealing the city beyond. The spots where the fire bullets hit the ground had formed craters about three meters deep. It seemed that the reduced power had not affected the city.
“……”
The adventurers who had dodged the magic and those in the spectator seats stared at the piles of rubble where the wall separating the training ground and the spectator seats had been. They instantly realized what would have happened if the fire bullets had hit them.
“Everyone managed to dodge, didn’t they? If you get hit, you’ll end up like that wall! I’ll go again, then.”
Cain said this and increased the number of fire bullets to ten. At that moment, the spectators in the stands all fled at once.
“What the hell is that!!! If something like that comes at us, there’s no way we can avoid it!!!”
“Who cares about the bet! Run for your lives!!!”
Throwing away their mugs of ale, the adventurers in the stands fled one after another. The adventurers who had been about to engage in a mock battle were pale, but they couldn’t run because Cain was standing at the entrance.
“What the hell is this……”
Dropping the cigarette she had been holding, Betty muttered in a daze. The adventurers, trembling at the sight of the carnage, all prostrated themselves on the spot.
“We’re sorry. We lost.”
Cain, seeing this, increased the number of fire bullets even further. By the time the number of floating fire bullets reached twenty, the five of them were wetting themselves and shaking violently.
“Hey, it’s not over until the referee stops it, you know.”
Cain said this with a smile.
“The air here is bad, so we need to change it a bit.”
He launched ten of the floating fire bullets towards the wall on the spectator side.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The training ground was further destroyed. The spectator stands were already in ruins. Cain then dispersed the remaining fire bullets, dissipating their magic.
“Please… stop… please…”
Betty, sitting on the ground, could only cry and create a puddle of tears.
At that moment, a large, bald man over two meters tall burst into the training ground entrance.
“What’s going on!!! What the hell is this!?”
The large, bald man saw that the training ground was riddled with craters and was no longer functional. Eighty percent of the area where the spectator stands had been was now just a pile of rubble. In the middle of the training ground, the adventurers were prostrating themselves, wetting themselves, and even the sub-guild master, Betty, was sitting on the ground, wetting herself.
Cain was the only one standing in the training ground.
“You! What did you do!? Who are you, anyway?”
“It’s quite a shock to be called ‘you’ like that. Who are you? I’m just a ten-year-old adventurer. The people sitting there are the ones who challenged me to a mock battle, which was really just a lynching.”
Cain spoke to the large man without any hesitation.
“I’m Rikisetsu, the guild master here. Do you know what you’ve done?”
Rikisetsu was furious that the facilities in his guild’s territory had been destroyed.
“I just came to the guild to greet you because I’m coming to this town soon. But then a few of you gathered to try to lynch me under the guise of a mock battle, even with the guild staff. So I just gave you a taste of your own medicine. What are you doing as a guild master?”
“Shut up! Do you know what will happen if you do this? You’re probably Iron, right? The adventurers in this town will target you on my command.”
“Target my life? Is that something a guild master should say…?”
With those words, Cain released a killing intent in all directions. The adventurers prostrating themselves and the guild staff, Betty, who had been pale, turned white and fainted. Even Rikisetsu, the guild master, who had been hit by a killing intent of a different dimension, was on his knees, trembling. As a former S-rank adventurer, he didn’t faint.
“W-Who are you…?”
“Maybe I’ll come back. Then you might understand. The guild staff said the guild will cover the repair costs, so please take care of it.”
Cain retracted his killing intent and passed by the trembling guild master.
“What… what the hell was that…?”
Rikisetsu could only mutter this.
As Cain walked through the hall, everyone looked at him with fear. The adventurers who had been in the stands were trembling in the corners of the hall. The other staff members, who hadn’t seen anything, were trembling under their desks from the earlier explosions and shaking. Cain realized he had forgotten to deliver the letter, but decided it was impossible to do so in the current state and left the guild.
“Phew. Maybe I overdid it a bit…”
He muttered this and headed towards the lord’s mansion.
Thank you for always reading. I started writing as a hobby, but with so many people reading, I’m starting to feel the pressure and my stomach hurts. Currently, I update twice a day (7 AM and 6 PM), but from tomorrow, I will update once a day at 6 PM. It’s the end-of-year party season, and I drink 2-3 times a week, so it’s hard to write the next chapter. I also plan to review and revise past posts. I hope for your understanding. Thank you.
