The entrance ceremony was over, and the orientation began.
The Royal Academy has not only basic subjects but also elective subjects.
Basic subjects include Japanese, mathematics, history, and so on, which must be chosen.
Elective subjects are specialized subjects such as the Noble Class, Adventure Class, Business Class, Internal Affairs Class, Magic Class, Martial Arts Class, Magic Tool Class, Pharmacy Class, and Home Economics Class. There are many of them, and students must choose at least one that suits them. Some students choose three or four.
Incidentally, the Noble Class is only open to nobles because it involves studying internal affairs, diplomacy, etiquette, and other aspects of noble life.
Kain nodded while looking at the list of subjects.
"Of course, it's the Adventure Class!"
"Absolutely not (Sir)!!!"
Kain was immediately rejected by Tereisia and Silk.
"Lord Kain is already the head of a noble family, isn't he? You need to learn many things about being a noble. Please choose the Noble Class."
Tereisia knew that Kain had registered as an adventurer, but she couldn't allow this.
"... Yes ..."
Kain nodded weakly.
"Why not take the Adventure Class along with the Noble Class?"
Silk's words gave Kain a boost.
"That's right! It's not just one, right? I have to take the Noble Class, but I can also take the Adventure Class... and the Magic Class, Martial Arts Class, and Magic Tool Class are also tempting."
Kain was pondering with his arms crossed.
"I think four subjects would be fine. More than that would be too much."
Tereia, who was exasperated, gave him some advice.
"It's decided! I'll take the Noble Class, Adventure Class, Magic Class, and Magic Tool Class."
"What about the Martial Arts Class?"
Silk asked.
"I'll learn martial arts through my adventures. What about you two?"
Kain asked the two of them.
"I'm thinking of taking the Noble Class and Internal Affairs Class..."
Tereisia answered with a blush.
"I understand the Noble Class, but why the Internal Affairs Class?"
Kain asked Tereisia curiously.
"That's... of course, for the future management of the territory with Lord Kain...!"
Tereisia, who had said it without thinking, turned as red as an apple and covered her face with her hands.
"Oh, Tereisia. I'll take the Noble Class and Business Class. I want to study for the sake of the territory Kain will govern in the future."
Silk answered Kain frankly, with a slight blush.
"Thank you both. I can't say for sure about the territory management, but I'll work hard for both of you."
Kain thanked them sincerely.
---
After a few days of subject-specific orientations, they decided on their subjects and submitted them to their homeroom teacher.
"Alright, that's settled. By the way, I haven't been to the church recently. I should show my face there so the gods don't complain."
Saying this, Kain stopped by the church on his way back from the academy.
He entered the church, made an offering, and knelt before the statues of the gods.
As usual, Kain was enveloped in white light.
"Kain, it's been a while. Congratulations on your enrollment."
The gods were sitting as usual when the white light faded.
"It's been a while. Thank you."
Kain sat in his usual seat.
"We were all enjoying ourselves."
The screen showed Kain casting the magic that destroyed the training ground during the entrance exam.
"You're watching it again!!"
"Kain! You should have used the imperial-level magic from the book I showed you, not just the beginner level!"
This was said by the God of Magic, Renu.
"Imperial-level magic would have been too much... What would have happened if I had used it there?"
"Hmm, not just the training ground, but the school building would have been completely destroyed. Maybe everything within a kilometer?"
"Why are you asking in a question form? If you had done that, the capital would have been in chaos!"
"Kain! More importantly, how much did you hold back with that sword technique? You could have taken him down with one hit. With your stats and blessings, it shouldn't have been a problem."
This was said by the God of Martial Arts, Sarnos.
"I stayed within human limits! What would you think if a ten-year-old took down an A-rank adventurer in front of everyone during the entrance exam? No one would dare come near me after that! And if I swung my sword seriously, the wall would have been destroyed by the sword pressure..."
Kain, who had already become superhuman in both stats and blessings, was struggling to stay within normal limits.
"Alright, enough jokes. Kain, there's a place I want you to go."
Xenom handed Kain a map. The map centered on the Esfort Kingdom and included the Bysus Empire, which bordered the Gracia territory, the Marinford Theocracy on the opposite side of the capital, the Tumberton Kingdom in the highlands of the mountain range, and the Iustin Republic, a major commercial city.
"I've never seen such a detailed map."
Kain was fascinated by the map of countries outside his own.
"The place I want you to go is here."
Xenom pointed to a deep part of the monster forest next to the Gracia territory, deeper than where Kain had defeated the Red Dragon at age five.
"What's there?"
Kain asked Xenom.
"You'll see when you get there."
That was all Xenom said.
"Of course, I can't go there immediately. It's deeper than where the Red Dragon was, and I just started at the academy, so I can't take much time off."
"You can return quickly. You should be able to make it in two days during the next holiday."
"If it's that important... I'll go."
Kain nodded at Xenom's words.
"Alright, I'll leave it to you. See you again."
After hearing this, Kain was enveloped in light again and found himself praying to the seven gods in the temple.
He stood up, left the church, and returned to the mansion.
"I'm back."
"Welcome back, Lord Kain."
Sylvia greeted him.
"I have a trip planned for this weekend. I'll be gone for two days, so please take care of things for me."
Kain told Sylvia this and went back to his room.
The weekend came quickly.
Kain packed some food and supplies into his item box, dressed as an adventurer, and left his room.
"Be careful. You never know what you might encounter."
"Sure. I won't push myself, so don't worry. I'll be back soon."
Kain cast a long-distance teleportation spell and transferred to the place where he had defeated the Red Dragon next to the Gracia territory.
"This place is nostalgic. It's been five years."
Kain remembered the time when he had faced the dragon, casting spells continuously until there was nothing left. Now, after five years, grass and trees had grown.
"It's this direction."
Kain checked the map given by Xenom and confirmed the direction.
"I don't have much time, so I'll go straight without fighting."
'Flight'
Kain's body lifted off the ground and rose above the trees.
"This height is good. I just need to avoid the wind."
After casting a wind barrier, Kain flew at a speed of 200 km/h.
He flew for about two hours, passing through endless forests, and saw a field and a house in the distance.
"Is this the place? It's strange to have a house here all alone..."
Kain had already traveled hundreds of kilometers into the monster forest next to the Gracia territory. The forest stretched as far as the eye could see.
Kain landed at the entrance, canceling the flight spell.
Looking around, he saw a single house surrounded by fields that seemed to be for self-sufficiency.
"Who lives here..."
Kain stood at the front door, took a deep breath, and knocked.
"Hello, is anyone home?"
"Wait a moment."
A man's voice came from behind the door, and footsteps approached. The door opened.
"Welcome. Welcome to this remote place. Please come in."
A young man with black hair, who looked to be in his twenties, greeted Kain.
Kain followed the young man inside and sat in the chair he was offered.
"Would you like coffee?"
The young man asked Kain.
"Sure, that's fine... Wait, what?!"
Kain was surprised. He naturally reached for the coffee, but in this world, there was no such thing as coffee.
The young man offered the coffee without any concern, which made Kain tense up.
"Don't be so guarded, reincarnated one. I've heard about you from old Xenom."
"Wait... You've spoken to the gods!?"
"Something like that. Those old guys sometimes call out when they feel like it. They told me you were coming."
The young man placed a freshly brewed cup of coffee in front of Kain and sat across from him, taking a sip from his own cup.
Kain enjoyed the long-awaited aroma and took a sip. It had been ten years since he last had coffee.
"Let's start with introductions. Kain von Silford, or perhaps Kazumi Kazuya?"
The young man said this.
"I'm Yuuya. Yuuya Tera Hirazawa Esfort, or simply Yuuya Hirazawa. You're a reincarnated one, but I'm a summoned one, or maybe a transferred one."
"Whaaaaat?!"
The young man in front of Kain was none other than the first king of the Esfort Kingdom.
