The one waiting was Daim, the deputy commander of the Royal Guard.
"It's been a while. I'm not a hero, Deputy Commander Daim. I've come to deliver the monster materials as requested by Chancellor Magna."
"I just heard about it. I'll show you the way, follow me."
Daim said this and beckoned him.
Following Daim, Cain was led to a small warehouse.
"Is this warehouse okay? I usually place the monsters here."
The shed was about five meters square.
Obviously, it wasn't big enough.
"Deputy Commander Daim, I'm sorry, but this room isn't big enough."
Cain said honestly. He had quite a lot of materials, and they were in the way. He didn't intend to bring everything out, but he planned to take out all the materials of monsters below A-class, as he could quickly gather A-class materials.
"How much do you have in your item box?"
"I think I would need ten of these sheds. If I put a large one in here, it might not fit anymore."
"Could it be that the Red Dragon class, rumored to be in your possession, is in there?"
"Of course not. It's smaller than that. Still, I have a few six-meter-class earth dragons in there."
"Wait a moment. Are you talking about the earth dragons, which are A-rank monsters that even an A-class adventurer party can only defeat one of?"
"I'm not sure if they are A-class, but they are earth dragons. Since they aren't registered with the Adventurer's Guild, I'm not sure about the details."
"Baron Cain, you are more and more of a mystery. For now, if you can bring them out here, the Royal Guard will take care of transporting them."
"Understood, I'll bring them out here."
Cain took out the dead bodies of monsters from his item box.
There were six-meter-class earth dragons, ten-meter-class earth snakes, an Ogre King, a group of Ogres, and quite a few Orcs. It seemed that some higher-level species were mixed in as well. By the time he was done, a small mountain had formed.
"Is this enough?"
The inside of the item box felt quite empty now.
"..."
Daim was frozen.
It was an unbelievable situation. A-class to C-class monsters were all there. Did he hunt them all alone?
It was unbelievable. Even an A-class adventurer couldn't do this, let alone a five-year-old.
"Baron Cain, are you a hero? Or perhaps an apostle of a god?"
That was all Daim could manage to say.
Cain flinched at the word "apostle."
"No, no, I'm just the third son of the Galm Margrave."
Cain replied nervously.
"I won't pry too deeply. With this much, it will take some time to appraise, so I'll pay you later."
"Understood. I received the payment for the glass from His Majesty, so I'm not in a hurry. Please pay me when you can."
Cain was no longer short of money. The sales of Reversi had exploded, and the investment amount had been fully recovered. If he started selling Venetian glass and shower toilets, it would be even more impressive.
With the monsters out, he felt relieved and was about to leave.
"Then, I'll be going now."
As he turned to leave, he was grabbed by the shoulder from behind. Of course, it was Daim.
"It's still early, right? How about joining the Royal Guard's training? At least as an observer?"
Saying this, Daim grabbed his shoulder and led him away.
Now, Cain was standing in the middle of the Royal Guard's training ground with a wooden sword in hand.
About thirty sturdy knights surrounded him.
Let's go back a bit in time.
"This is Baron Cain the Hero, you've heard about the Orc extermination, right?"
Daim introduced Cain to the knights.
Voices of doubt arose from the surrounding knights, questioning if a child like this could really have defeated Orcs.
Of course, some of the knights who were present at the time bowed respectfully to Cain.
"Today, Baron Cain will also participate in the Royal Guard's training."
Daim explained briefly.
"Is that okay? He looks like a real child, right? He's only five, isn't he? Is it really appropriate for the Royal Guard to face him?"
A knight who didn't know Cain's true strength asked Daim.
"If you think so, why don't you try first? Baron Cain, please."
The knight who asked Daim stepped forward.
"Baron Cain, I'll let you go first. Come at me."
His confidence as a member of the Royal Guard was evident. It was the calmness of an adult.
Cain had no choice but to attack first.
He decided to try a short-range teleportation. He had used it for movement but never in combat.
Cain held a child-sized wooden sword and chanted a spell, channeling his magic.
'Short-range teleportation'
In an instant, he appeared behind the knight and placed the wooden sword on his back. He wanted to place it on his neck, but his height was not enough.
"That's the end."
The knight, who had lost sight of Cain, was confused by the sudden tap on his back.
He had been right in front of him and then suddenly disappeared.
Then, he was tapped on the back with the wooden sword.
"..."
The knight answered honestly.
"I can't believe it. I couldn't see him at all. Who is this child?"
The surrounding knights were also confused.
"Did you see that?"
"I couldn't see anything at all."
"He disappeared and then suddenly appeared behind us. It's impossible to fight him."
"Baron Cain the Hero, indeed. One opponent isn't enough for you. How about facing the thirty of us here?"
"Wh-what? That's a bit..."
Cain was surprised. Thirty was too many. Statistically, he could easily defeat all of them.
"Alright, let's start. Everyone, attack!"
At Daim's signal, the thirty Royal Guards surrounded Cain.
The situation was as follows.
Thirty knights were facing a single child.
Just as they were about to attack,
"What is going on here?!"
Everyone stopped.
Then, a person entered the circle.
She was a beautiful woman in her twenties with golden hair tied back to keep it out of the way.
Her ears were long, like an elf. Cain was surprised by the elegant presence of the elf knight.
Everyone bowed respectfully.
"Why are you facing a child with swords, and why are so many of the Royal Guard gathered here?"
After speaking, she turned, knelt, and made eye contact.
"Are you okay?"
She patted his head. It was a normal response for a five-year-old. Then, she hugged him.
"Being surrounded by these people must have been scary. Now that I'm here, it's okay. Did you get lost and end up here? Where are your parents?"
"Commander, this person is..."
Daim called out to the commander.
Cain was surprised to learn that this beautiful woman was the commander of the Royal Guard.
"Daim, why didn't you stop this while you were here?"
She narrowed her eyes and asked Daim sternly.
"This is Baron Cain, the one we talked about before... the hero."
Daim answered apologetically.
"Really!? This child?!"
The commander was clearly surprised.
She stared at Cain intently.
"Is that so? That's the hero. Haha. Then, how about a mock battle with me instead?"
Cain was surprised when he heard "mock battle" as if it were a duel.
The commander suddenly brought out a mock sword.
"Commander, shouldn't you introduce yourself first?"
Daim said apologetically again.
"A swordsman should first share a sword. That's how we understand each other."
The commander readied her sword.
"Here we go again with the commander's bad habit. She always challenges to a mock battle when she sees someone strong. The commander has the title of Sword Saint, you know? Even Baron Cain might find it difficult."
The Royal Guards were talking, widening the circle to give more space.
I can hear you. What's a Sword Saint?
"Baron Cain, here I come!"
"Wait a moment!"
Cain tried to stop her, but
the commander charged without hesitation.
Her speed was inhuman. She must have used body enhancement.
The commander swung her sword from above.
Cain moved half a step to the side, dodging the sword. Then, he swung his sword horizontally.
The commander, surprised that her attack was easily avoided, blocked Cain's horizontal swing with her sword.
Cain jumped back to create distance.
"Baron Cain, I underestimated you as a child. This should be more fun."
A smile appeared on her lips, and then the commander muttered something, enveloping herself in wind.
"Here I come!"
She swung her sword at a speed in a different dimension from before.
Cain couldn't dodge as easily as before. He used body enhancement and deflected the commander's sword.
They continued to clash swords at an inhuman speed.
"Hey, Baron Cain, you're actually clashing with the commander. Unbelievable."
The guards whispered. The speed of the two was barely visible even to the Royal Guards.
If this continued, it would never end, so Cain increased his body enhancement and charged. He deflected the commander's sword and thrust it at her neck.
"That's the end."
Cain lowered the sword from her neck and said.
The commander's eyes widened, then her cheeks flushed.
"..."
"I've made my decision."
"I will marry you."
Cain and the surrounding Royal Guards were speechless at her words.
