Author’s note: There’s no deep thought in the methods of making bread. Please accept it as it is for the atmosphere. \n——————————————————————————————\n
Kent arrives at school, enter his classroom and sit down on his seat thinking.\n
(Yesterday part time income is 100 G
when thinking about the amount of money needed to buy goods from home center to make a comfortable living, it’s still so far away. I have to make money somehow
)\n
While thinking on how to make money the time for class started. Looking around Jozette appear to be arriving. Coincidentally making eye contact with each other, Jozette look away.\n
Remembering the incredible circumstance of yesterday, there was no room for listening to the lecture, but today there seems to be some margin to listen to the lecture content.\n
(Right now is mathematics
isn’t it??? But isn’t this elementary school level???)\n
Right now the lecture is on addition of 2 digit numbers. The teacher randomly called out some student to answer given problem.\n
“Now this one is pretty difficult. What’s the result of 69+94?
Kent please answer.”\n
The teacher call on Kent.\n
“163”\n
Kent immediately replied.\n
“Wow! You are correct”\n
” ” “Ohhh” ” “\n
There’s a stir in the classroom. No matter how you look at it, it’s a problem that could be quickly answered isn’t it? Something’s wrong
 Kent feel out of place.\n
.\n
Then the next lesson is national language.\n
(The letters used in the class, there almost no Kanji. Even on the place where it’s used, there’s furigana written.) This too elementary school level material.\n
.\n
Maybe in consideration of working time of commoners, the start class time is pretty late. For that reason, after 2 hour of lesson there’s lunch break.\n
(Ugh
 there is no lunch
)\n
Basically while there’s school cafetaria, the food is not free. Kent who has 0 money, can’t use them. Yesterday received bread too, already eaten up during the night. He’s thinking that maybe he should save some portion of today bread for next day.\n
Seeing people eating also feel painful, so he went to unpopular place behind a school building. Upon ariving behind school building, he heard voice of dispute. Interested, he checked the situation, it’s actually Jozette pouring abuses on someone. When seeing who’s the other person is, it was brown haired slender figure without any distinctive trait with average figure girl. Without a doubt, it’s the game protagonist Rachel.\n
(Certainly it was during early game after talking with the prince and then being called out to behind the school building, it is the its-improper-for-someone-like-you-to-be-talking-to-the-prince scene.)\n
“It is improper for someone like you to be talking to the prince, know your limits”\n
“Eh, but I was simply receiving my dropped handkerchief from the prince who picked it up, it was only a little chat”\n
Rachel replied.\n
“You want to talk back? If I see you doing it again, you know the consequence right”\n
Said Jozette leaving the place
but, coincidentally the direction is toward where Kent is.\n
(Escaping now feels unnatural
 what to do
)\n
thinking such a thing, she came in front of him.\n
“Ah
 hello.”\n
“Did you see it?”\n
“Eh
 ah”\n
Jozette look around confirming there is no one else.\n
“This thing, can I ask you to not tell any other people?”\n
“Why not?”\n
“If you do that bad reputation of me will spread and my plan will be spoilt”\n
“What plan?”\n
“Just stop talking about this. Here’s the hush money.”\n
Finished speaking, holding Kent’s face with both hands Jozette place her lips on Kent’s lips.\n
“Eh? Eh?”\n
“Certainly hush money is paid. So please keep the promise.”\n
Saying that, Jozette run away.\n
(Why did it turn out like this?) \n
Kent stand still confused. In the meantime lunch break is over and afternoon lesson started.\n
In the end he keep brooding over the event, there’s none of afternoon lesson material entering the head.\nLesson ended, it’s after school. Jozette suddenly disappeared from the classroom.\nChanging the mood over, Kent did his best at part time job. After the work is finished, he received 200 G and bread and return home.\nIt seems the calculation is in the morning it’s 100 G and evening also 100 G. Yesterday, because only worked during evening he only received 100 G.\n
(Even though it’s good idea to work during the morning too)\n
And then ate bread, and pulled over the aluminum blanket, and then go to sleep.\nTomorrow, because the school is on holiday, he will work for the whole day.\n
“Good morning. Today too please take care of me.”\n
“Good morning. Please take care.”\n
“Oniichan good morning. Please take care.”\n
[TLN: translating yoroshiku can make it feel quite weird at times. The second sentence of each of 3 lines above are all expressions of “yoroshiku”. Should I keep yoroshiku as it is without translating?]\n
After the morning rush hour ended, while Marie is preparing the dough, Kent ask away his curiosity.\n
“When preparing the dough is yeast not used?”\n
“Yeast
is it?”\n
Marie-san doesn’t seem to know anything.\n
“Can I have a little dough?”\n
“Here you go”\n
Taking a bit of the dough, she gave it to Kent.\n
“Please wait a bit”\n
Saying that, he placed an order on the terminal.\n
“Uhh. There it is. Instant dry yeast. A small bag cost 40 G huh.”\n
For now ordering 1 count of order (probably worth 1 batch).\n
“Thanks for waiting. Now put this in
and knead it. Probably something like this. Can I bake this one together?”\n
“What did you put in?”\n
“Well, you will see later.”\n
Toward Marie’s question, Kent puts on air.\nWhen the bread is being baked, Marie and Catherine are surprised.\n
“Somehow it’s getting bigger”\n
“It is really
 expanding
 is it?”\n
While being baked together with other bread, even with the same shape the dough prepared by Kent swell up and expand.\n
“Then please try it”\n
Kent ask Marie and Catherine to taste test the swelled up bread.\n
“What is this? So fluffy, delicious”\n
“It is really. It’s my first time eating bread this fluffy.”\n
Seeing the expected reaction, Kent is delighted. And then he too eat the finished bread.\n
“It’s pretty good”\n
“How to make this?”\n
Being a bread artisan, Marie wants to know the secret and listen to Kent’s explanation.\n
“Basically before the dough is baked, we put this kind of material that makes it expand. There are various kinds of materials however, I used the simplest kind where it’s only need to be mixed into.”\n
“So you can do it like that.”\n
And then leaving the leftover yeasted bread as sample. Giving it to the incoming customers the sample free of charge, for now just one bite. Afterwards showing interesting expression, how much you sell it for, the customers asked. Marie said because it’s trial product, she refused to sell it, though there are still customers jumping at it.\n
Marie asked Kent, where to get supply channel for the instant dry yeast.\nAfter being told of the price by Kent, Marie began accounting the cost and profit. And then after judging it’s possible, she gave Kent the required money to obtain it.\n
Kent go back home at once and operate the terminal, after purchasing the instant dry yeast for business with the given money, return to the store. Marie right away use those to bake bread, and line up the bread with yeast for sale in the afternoon.\n
Because of the trial product rumor from the morning, in the afternoon there are way more customers coming in than usual. Compared to the previously sold bread, the price is a little bit higher, in spite of that, it sold like hot cakes. \n
In this way Marie’s bakery grow to become one of the most famous in the royal capital.\n
