When I woke up, I became an annoyance in a Yuri game world.
It wasn’t until I finished watching the lovely Yuri scene in the back alley with a hamburger in my hand that my mind calmed down. There is no doubt. The world that I am in right now is the world of 『Everything for the Score』.
How did I know that? Well, because the existences of men are kinda blurry. For example, there is a man walking on the street in front of me. If I was asked, ‘does he exist?’, then I could only answer, ‘yes, he does’. However, I couldn’t see his face clearly, as if he was just a kind of background.
This was, in fact, a combined characteristic of rule 3 and 4 that exists in a Yuri game.
The treatment of men in Yuri games is roughly divided into four.
They simply didn’t exist.
Since the stage of the story is set in a place where no man exists (girl’s school, etc.), no man will appear.
Men do exist, but they’re treated as sub characters, mobs, or background.
Men do exist, but they’re either villains or annoyances.
These four are the rules of Yuri games that I have arbitrarily defined, I’m sure it wasn’t that different from the real thing.
In this world, everywhere you look, you only see two girls holding hands with each other, or even two girls kissing in a back alley.
“Is this Heaven…?”
Looks like I was finally summoned to Heaven.
However, that happiness was only short-lived. Because, considering the situation, I realized that I was in a terrible position.
If I had reincarnated in a Yuri game world as a girl, I might have already kneeled and would have prayed to thank the Gods, but…Unfortunately, I got reincarnated as that 『Hiiro』. Yes, I got reincarnated as an annoyance, the most hated role in 『Everything for the Score』, a man who got sandwiched by Yuri…As that Hiiro who is destined to die a tragic death.
“This is bad…This is really, really bad…”
I evacuated to the toilet in front of the station and loosen my tie. I don’t know the reason, but for some reason, Hiiro was in a suit. And perhaps because his face is half-assedly well-proportioned, although he is surprisingly good-looking in a suit, his frustrated and distorted face seriously looks pathetic1.
In 『Everything for the Score』, Hiiro only has one pattern of ending.
Which is– death.
In a certain route he died from falling and in other route he died in various ways, such as drowning, starvation, shocked to death, and even murdered by his real sister.
Well, he is an annoyance, after all. Furthermore, his existence is tuned to gather players’ hate.
In other words, at the very end, Hiiro’s tragic death will give the players a sense of exhilaration. In conclusion, he has to die.
Most of the causes of Hiiro’s death are related to the protagonist and the heroine. That means, in order for me to survive as Hiiro… I would have to somehow approach the heroine and the protagonist. For example, I could kill the heroine and the protagonist before they could meet…
“Impossible!! Blasphemy!! Even if I die, I will protect Yuri!!”
Such a ridiculous idea, totally impossible. If the Yuri is destroyed, then Hiiro who was in the field will also get destroyed (Special effect)2.
My priority is, Yuri >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> me >> other things.
In that case, let’s think of another idea.
How about trying to be able to deal with all kinds of death flags by earnestly studying and training? Perhaps, Hiiro could escape his tragic fate if he continued to train properly…Well, he actually does have a good reason that made him not even think to train properly, though.
I walked around the station while indulging in thoughts, looking for ideas, until–
“Onii-sama.”
I heard a voice. And when I turned around, there was a girl with long black hair standing before me. She has a pair of beautiful black eyes reminiscent of the ocean of space.
Her dignified appearance and supple body stood out even among the beautiful women walking down the street. Everyone who saw her couldn’t help but look back at her and blushed. And the blue dress that she wears was just like a gradation of light.
She is Sanjou Rei– one of the four heroines in 『Everything for the Score』, and Hiiro’s younger sister.
“I was really worried because you suddenly disappeared.”
Although the words were that of worry, her voice was as cold as winter. She whispered with an unconcerned attitude.
“You will be late for dinner. I have a limousine waiting outside. You know the meaning of this dinner, right?”
At the end of Sanjou Rei’s route, she will kill Hiiro. Of course, it is because Hiiro did something inappropriate, but since I was one of those who cheered and head banged when he died, there is nothing I can say.
Indeed, there is nothing I can say, but now that I face her as Hiiro, I can’t help but be scared.
I can understand it from her words and attitude. She doesn’t have even a shred of favor towards me.
“A-aa…”
“Well then, please get in immediately. We have been wasting time looking for you, Onii-sama.”
Gracefully lifting her arm that was covered with opera gloves, she looked at the pocket watch she had taken out.
“…..”
And she frowned. Looking at that, I hurriedly rack my brain.
Dinner… Speaking of dinner, is it the Sanjou family’s dinner?
With that, I finally understood why Hiiro was in a suit. Hiiro is the only son of Duke Sanjou. Although 『Everything for the Score』 is indeed set in modern Japan, it is a world where nobility… In other words, noble classes such as Duke, Marquis, Count, Viscount and Baron still exist in the world. The upper and lower nobility are ranked by nobility order, and the Sanjou family has the rank of Duke, and their family status is determined by the score. In conclusion, Hiiro is the son of a noble family.
That’s the reason he ended up dying in the end. Because he didn’t even try to make any effort as he was spoiled by his status, but…for the time being, it was certain that Hiiro would be regarded as a problem if he was late for the Sanjou’s family dinner that was held for the purpose of social exchange.
“Well then, please don’t be late.”
“Eh, huh, wait a minute.”
I cooly said, stopping Rei who was trying to leave.
“…What is it?”
“What an overt annoyed face.”
What an overt annoyed face3.
“Ha? I didn’t, though.”
“Ah, my bad, my innate honest temperament suddenly came out… My real thoughts came out by mistake… Anyway, please wait a minute.”
I dashed to the convenience store, bought a bandage and came back.
“Here.”
“…What?”
“Your hand is injured, right? You’re going to use a fork and knife later. I thought it would be annoying if it’s difficult to eat because of that.”
She opened her eyes wide.
“Why?”
“Look, I…”
With a beautiful smile, I said.
“I won’t miss anything if it’s about Yuri.”
“… Ha?”
At that moment, a crack appeared in her expressionless mask. And I hurriedly answered after looking at that expression of disgust.
“I just saw you look hurt when you took out your pocket watch. That’s why I thought maybe your hand might be injured. Your beautiful hands are for your future spouse (female), after all. So you have to take good care of them.”
Hearing that, she suddenly became absentminded. But that was only for a moment, as she instantly opened her mouth.
“Is your head okay?”
“Ah, you mean, my 180 Yuri IQ, right?”
“Hello, I have an emergency.”
“Oi oi, don’t immediately call 119…”
“Just kidding.”
With no expression, she whispered.
“But, to think Onii-sama can joke…Unexpectedly, you have such a sense of humor.”
“But I’ve never made a joke in my life, though.”
“Truly, if we don’t go to the site, we will be late.”
Saying that, she snatched the bandage from my hand and turned her back.
“I hope Onii-sama won’t be late too. You have taken my precious time, after all.”
Dashingly, she walked away, and I boarded the limousine— Just like that once again I was made to understand Hiiro’s standing position.
