Chapter 2-34 : Return To Master’s House (part 2)
Mylia was now enjoying lunch with Titania. Meanwhile, in Adrashlem Royal Girls’ Academy, Aria, Diana and Chloe met in the school cafeteria.
Aria and Diana were wearing the red ribbon of Rose Maria while Chloe was wearing the light blue ribbon of Aqua Sophia.
There was a somewhat intense atmosphere between them that was naturally attracting the attention of the surrounding people.
The three of them were talking without even touching their lunch.
「Eh!? So Mylia is currently looking for Basilisk somewhere!? But, why? Oh God, please have mercy… She will get one penalty for skipping classes and another one for going outside the school grounds without permission. Moreover, she is trying to fight such a dangerous dragon… Aaahh.… I’m so worried… Mylia, please be safe…」(Chloe)
Chloe looked tired because she couldn’t sleep after spotting Mylia flying down from the third floor of Rose Maria tower last night.
She lacked sleep but she didn’t lose her beauty.
「Aria de la Ruzé Griffith, why didn’t you stop her?」(Chloe)
Chloe called Aria by her full name to tell her indirectly that she shouldn’t use her power as a duke’s daughter in this school.
Aria realized that and smiled at Chloe.
「Please just call me Aria like you did before, Chloe onee-sama.」(Aria)
「Onee-sama? I don’t remember allowing you to call me that.」(Chloe)
「But you’re my precious friend’s older sister, so please let me call you Onee-sama!」(Aria)
Seeing Aria say that with unwavering eyes, Chloe sighed.
「Hahh, alright. I don’t mind. I know I can trust you after seeing you and Mylia getting along together lately. Mylia is a bit clumsy but she can tell the difference between good people and bad people because she had been living while being surrounded by bad people since she was born.」(Chloe)
「I’ve heard about your family… It must have been hard living in such an environment…」(Aria)
「…Anyway, why do you want to explain your circumstances to me now? Diana, you’re not trying to get me into your faction, right?」(Chloe)
Chloe looked at Diana who had been quiet. Diana then shook her head.
「Honestly, I wanted to welcome you because I know a talented person like you can surely help me with my business, but that’s not my reason for being here today. It’s just… I’m grateful to your sister for helping us.」(Diana)
Diana, who usually behaves arrogantly, was being humble for some reason. It made Chloe curious.
「Diana is grateful to Mylia…? Aria-san, what happened exactly?」(Chloe)
Chloe murmured to herself and then asked Aria.
「Before I tell you, I have a message for you from Mylia-san.」(Aria)
「A message from Mylia? You should have told me sooner! What is it?」(Chloe)
Diana sighed when Chloe rushed at Aria.
「You really lose your cool when it comes to your little sister, huh?」(Diana)
「Wh, What? You have a problem with that? She is my beloved, precious, cute little sister, you know!」(Chloe)
「Alright, alright.」(Diana)
「So what’s her message?」(Chloe)
Chloe looked at Aria and tried to pay attention so that she didn’t miss the message.
「Mylia-san said, “I’m going to see my master, defeat Basilisk quickly, and return right after, so you don’t have to worry.”」(Aria)
Chloe kept listening but Aria didn’t say anything more after a few seconds.
「……..That’s it?」(Chloe)
「Y-Yes… She said that you would understand, so…」(Aria)
「Aaahh, Mylia…! How can I understand? I told you not to make me worry!」(Chloe)
Chloe was holding her head, looking a bit upset.
「Hahh… That girl is always like this. She will go wild like a raging bull every time she finds one thing she wants to do. When she was practicing a new spell, she couldn’t even hear me at all. I had to call her about three times with a loud voice before she reacted to me.」(Chloe)
「Ahh, I think I can understand… Anyway, Chloe onee-sama, I will tell you the reason why Mylia went to look for Basilisk.」(Aria)
「Ah, that’s right! Please tell me everything in detail without hiding anything!」(Chloe)
Aria nodded and started explaining.
She told Chloe how her grandma was petrified and how she and Mylia worked together to solve the mystery of Daemon’s Map in order to find a way to save her grandma. She also told Chloe that they went to the underground maze last night and ended up fighting a powerful ghost, Peter, and received the recipe for a potion that could cure petrification from him.
When Aria told Chloe about how Mylia fought the ghost with beams, Chloe shook her head and said, “She used that dangerous spell again!?”.
Aria and Diana smiled bitterly seeing the worrisome older sister kept holding her head while Aria was explaining.
When Aria was done explaining, Chloe nodded. Chloe was worried but she looked convinced somehow.
「So you need Basilisk’s blood to make that potion… I see… Knowing Mylia, I can understand why she wants to help you.」(Chloe)
「Mylia-san… She is really kind to me.」(Aria)
「She’s a good girl after all. She understands your pain, that’s why she is helping both of you.」(Chole)
Chloe looked at Aria and Diana and smiled as she said that.
「She once told me that she always had fun when she was with you. Now after talking with you, I feel like I can understand. Aria-san, you’re not a bad girl at all. I’m glad that you’re Mylia’s friend.」(Chloe)
「Chloe onee-sama… Thank you!」(Aria)
「Aria-san, can I ask you something?」(Chloe)
「Yes, you can ask me anything.」(Aria)
「You’re from the Griffith Family. You have power in the aristocratic society, so if other aristocrats ever try to make use of Mylia’s power, can you stop them? Ah, I have a feeling that the church wants her power as well. Anyway, I want you to protect Mylia from bad people who want to make use of her power.」(Chloe)
「Understood. Mylia is my precious friend. I will protect her as best as I can.」(Aria)
「Chloe… I know you don’t like me, but I will protect your sister as well. I promise.」(Diana)
「Diana…」(Chloe)
Seeing her little sister say her promise with determined eyes, Diana lowered her head and promised Chloe to protect Mylia as well.
「Thank you, both of you…」(Chloe)
The surrounding students who had been watching them were surprised when they saw Diana, the second daughter of a duke family, lowered her head in front of Chloe, the sixth daughter of a poor knight family.
The feelings of the three of them to protect Mylia were strong, but unfortunately, none of them knew that Mylia was on the list of Queen Kushana’s favorite people. Moreover, Chloe had no idea either that she was also on the list.
「Well then, shall we eat? Our meals are getting cold.」(Chloe)
「Ah, you’re right.」(Diana)
Chloe ended the conversation and started eating her pasta while Diana drank her soup elegantly.
「Okay, Chloe onee-sama.」(Aria)
Aria replied energetically, took her fork and ate her meal as well.
Actually, Chloe still felt weird when Aria called her “Onee-sama”, but strangely, it wasn’t a bad feeling at all.
