Chapter 162 – One Spot for Each Family

“Third Uncle!”

Xiaozhen and Xiaoyu were very ecstatic to see Ji Jianyun.

Ji Jianyun smiled and nodded at them.

“Are your parents home?”

“They are,” Xiaozhen said.

“Third Uncle, we don’t have school tomorrow, and I want to go see my younger brothers,” Xiaoyu said.

“Okay, I’ll ask your third aunt to make egg cakes for you,” Ji Jianyun said with a grin.

The sisters were very happy. They liked eating the egg cakes made by their third aunt. It’s very delicious!

“Jianyun, you came just in time. We are going to have dinner, and you can eat with us together,” Ji Mudan said with a smile.

“There’s no need, I’m here today to talk to my second brother,” Ji Jianyun said.

“He is chopping firewood in the backyard, I will ask him to come here.” Ji Mudan thought, Lao San coming over here probably is not because something bad has happened. For me, the worst thing that can happen will be him asking to borrow money from us.

Lao San’s family couldn’t borrow money from her family.

Ji Jianye came back and went to wash his face before going into the room and asked, “Jianyun, have you eaten?”

Ji Jianye was surprised. He didn’t expect his brother to come and tell him this.

Ji Jianyun smiled and clarified, “Second sister-in-law, don’t worry. All the expenses for second brother to go there will be on me as long as he studies hard. When he is done, the salary will be calculated based on 30 yuan a month, and will go up every year.”

“Why do you care so  much about it? I will study hard over there. When I start earning 30 yuan a month, you can take care of our land and save all the money. We can figure out when we can renovate our yard later,” Ji Jianye said.

“What renovation? I won’t renovate the yard,” Ji Mudan declared.

“You won’t?”  Ji Jianye didn’t understand her.

“Jianye, you can work well  and we will save our money for a few more years. We will not renovate the yard. We will tear it down and build our own house. I want the kind with three floors!” Ji Mudan said.

Ji Jianye admired his wife for a bit. It was so daring to think like that! Jianyun’s property was not bad, but he didn’t live in a house with more than one floor. And yet, Ji Jianye’s wife wanted to.

If they could live in a house with more than one floor, then it would be really special.

Ji Jianyun went over to Ji Jianguo and Feng Fangfang’s place.

Hou Wazi not called Hou Wazi anymore. He was called Ji Xiaodong. He was born during winter, so that’s why his father gave him a name like that.

Ji Xiaodong was also very happy to see his third uncle come over. “Third uncle!”

“Do you have a free day tomorrow?” Ji Jianyun asked with a smile.

Ji Jianyun, Ji Jianguo, and Feng Fangfang entered the room. Ji Jianyun said, “Eldest sister-in-law, I might be working with Renren’s godmother to open up a department store. I will need to hire people soon. I want to have eldest sister-in-law working there. What do you say, eldest sister-in-law?”

This was his eldest sister-in-law. He couldn’t let his sister-in-law be a small worker if he helped her get the job. Management was basic. And if she did well, she could move up later, but if she didn’t, she could go down to a lower position.

He didn’t say this part because the specifics for it still depended on Sister Hong’s plans. But he knew Sister Hong would help him out.

Ji Jianguo and Feng Fangfang were shocked.

Feng Fangfang recalled something and quickly asked, “Jianyun, are you talking about the department store in our town?”

“Yeah.” Ji Jianyun nodded. “But I am just helping eldest sister-in-law to get in. As for the position, I don’t know yet. Sister Hong is in charge of that. Would you like to do it, eldest sister-in-law?”

“I will, Jianyun, I will!” Feng Fangfang said immediately.

If she went to work in a department store, then she would have a steady job. It would be a fixed salary every month. How could she not be happy? Her eyes were so greedy over the fact that the long term workers in the orchard could get paid thirty yuan a month.

Third brother-in-law didn’t arrange for his eldest brother to work there, and he would complain to her privately. But in the end, even if they broke off family connections, Ji Jianyun still thought of his brothers when something good was available.

“Your second brother…” Ji Jianguo hesitated.

“I just came from second brother’s place. I asked second brother to learn to drive and help me pick up and deliver the goods. If eldest sister-in-law helps me in the department store and does well, then there’s a chance to move up since the relationship is there,” Ji Jianyun said.

He did not explicitly say more, but Feng Fangfang and Ji Jianguo understood what he meant.

Doing a good job would result in a promotion, but if she didn’t do well, there was nothing to say.

Moreover, the couple also understood that there was more than one position. If there was one position per family, they would be cordial. If there was only one position overall, then Jianyun would not mention it.

Ji Jianyun didn’t stay longer. He said what he wanted to say and went back.

“Jianguo, when I go to work in the future, the work in the field will be left to you. We have to earn more for Hou Wazi while we are young,” Feng Fangfang said.

“Do you think you can do it?” Ji Jianguo looked at her.

“Why wouldn’t I be able to do it? I’ve seen others sell things before!” Feng Fangfang said with great confidence. She felt that she was absolutely competent. Wasn’t it just selling things?
