<h1>Chapter 54:　Claire’s Equipment</h1>

 

We didn’t get attacked while we were camping, so everyone managed to restore their physical and mental strength. We have hard bread and lemon juice for breakfast. You can’t adventure with an empty stomach.

 

When we resumed our search, we reached a room where a statue decorated the room.

There’s a pedestal where the statue is enshrined. It is not dirty at all even when it was left unattended for a long time. When I pay more attention to the statue, the statue is of a lady equipped with splendid silvery-white armor.

 

Since I really didn’t want to meet another Mimic again, I decided to check the statue after charging my whole body with Lightning Magic. If I do it this way, worst case scenario we will both hit each other even if it was a surprise attack. However, there’s no reaction even when I touch it, as it didn’t even start moving suddenly either. Since I was able to confirm that it is safe, I remove the equipment from the statue one-by-one to check it.

Although the upper body armor protects the chest and the back, it is a breastplate without the shoulder pads allowing for free movement, the lower armor protects the front and the back of the nether region, and also a protective armor to protect from both sides. Red-colored skirt sticks under the armor. There’s also a quiver of the same color as the armor at the back of the statue, with one arrow put inside it.

 

Since I don’t know what would happen if I just equip it, I carefully check the armor. I check whether there’s a trap like poison needle inside the armor, but I didn’t find any kind of trap. Even if the tension had risen since we found a treasure, one question floats in my mind. Who on earth and for what kind of purpose did that person enshrined this armor? Although I’m interested, no one would be able to answer it here in this place.

Although I do wonder about that, since it would be a waste not to effectively utilize such precious equipment, let’s have Claire and the others try equipping it. Judging from the size of this armor, it can only be equipped with the physique of either Diabell or Claire. Shallie won’t be able to move at all if she wear it. Although I intended to have the two discuss and decide it, that doesn’t seems to be necessary.

 

“I’ll refrain from this one. The armor I have right now is still just being bought. And when considering about the size of it…that,  it seems that it’ll squeeze my chest.” (Diabell)

Diabell apologetically decline it. I see, even big breasts had their own trouble huh? Then Claire should be able to equip this…wait, eh? Somehow she’s getting terribly depressed!? From her expression it seems that it came from when Claire heard the reason Diabell refuse it. She totally became expressionless like some kind of robot.

 

“That’s right huh. With that size, it would be perfect for me huh.” (Claire)

“D-don’t be sad Claire! Although yours are not as big as Diabell’s, yours is the standard size. Although I really like them big, I like the small one too. The important thing is the shape. Shape is the most important!” (Est)\n

Although I’m desperately trying to encourage Claire who got terribly depressed, somehow she’s looking at me with cold eyes. Isn’t this strange? That reaction is kinda different from what I expected? But even when my persuasion didn’t manage to soothe her depressed feeling, Claire reluctantly wore the body armor. Geez…. I feel like I’m mentally drained more than when I fight.

Although the new armor is slightly bigger than Claire’s physique, it shrank a bit when she equip it on her body, making it a perfect fit. While thinking about that strange metal, Diabell seems to have an idea about the materials.

 

“I think this is made from Mithril. At the time long before I was born, I heard that there were a lot of armor made of these materials.” (Diabell)

Claire who’s equipped with shiny silver armor really looks like a dignified knight. Since the red skirt covering her thigh flutters to emphasize the femininity, it also makes her looks cute.

The embarrassed Claire getting praised by the two is lovely. And then, it’s time to test the weapon. The only test is by equipping the one arrow in the quiver.

 

While Claire put it on her bow, another arrow had already appeared in the quiver. It seems that it’s a magic item. Another one consumes a little more magic power, but it’s a pattern that caused a small explosion on impact. Although the explosion magic is not to my degree, it have enough power to break the enemy’s balance. The last one consumes the most magical power out of all of the arrows, which is an attack that increased the number of arrows in itself. However it is just a normal straight arrow and it didn’t explode either.\n

With this our back’s offensive power have been greatly improved. Considering Shallie’s bracelet and Claire’s equipment, this dungeon might be a huge jackpot for us.
