When I write a novel, I generally start by first writing the plot (a simple outline) and then sending it to the editor in charge of me.
Based on that, we go over this and that, and the details get consolidated. But this time, while I was writing Rakuin volume 6, after sending the plot out, this was the telephone conversation I had with my editor.
âIâve taken a look at the plot.â
âYes.â (I put my game on pause for the time being and killed the sound on the TV.)
âI think the overall flow is good.â
âYes.â
âAccording to this, this time. No, I say âthis timeâ, but it should be âthis time tooâ, Vileena doesnât appear, huh?â
â(Ugh) She doesnât appear⊠huh.â
âHuh.â
âAlthough sheâs the heroine.â
âItâs gone on for two books.â
âThat she doesnât appear, huh.â
âSince this is the sixth book, the heroine has been absent from a third of the whole series.â
âHa ha ha.â
âThis is no laughing matter. This is, in the best of circumstances, a plain story reeking of men. I want to at least refine it into something a bit prettier.â
âRight.â
âCanât you do something about it?â
âItâs not like I canât but then itâll be longer. Because even as it is, it seems kindaâŠâ
âLong, huh.â
âLong, yeah.â (I restarted my game with it still on mute.)
âDoes she appear in the next one?â
âIf there is a next one.â
âPlease donât say something so depressing. Youâre the author.â
âI myself am full of enthusiasm, but that by itself doesnât mean anything.â
âThen supposing that there will be a next one, sheâll appear, right?â
âAs to that...â
âDo you hate writing girls?â
âI donât hate it. Itâs just that in my novels for the other company I only wrote girls so I might get confused and, aaaaaaaah, oi, dammiiit!â
âW-What happened?â
âNothingâŠâ (I was insta-killed by LĂŒ Bu.)
âWell then, please start writing from this plot.â
âYes...â
After hanging up, I worked hard at levelling up my general.
The author is as he is, but next time Princess Vileena will definitely appear. I promise. However, the Western chapter hasnât ended yet. Those who have read this volume will have realised that.
Anyway, please look forward to the next time.
P.S.
Thank you to the people who have sent me letters. All of them are my lifeâs treasures. They are rare items. Unique weapons. All I can offer in return is my body. Having said that, you all have gone through great trouble to deliver these to me, so I hope to be able to repay you through this work.
