Ch22 - Are You Yelling At Me?

Since it was Wang Chao’s treat, of course it wasn’t going to be some roadside barbeque stand. The group went to a proper barbeque restaurant, even the beer there was German craft.

Not too long after they walked in, Xie Zhuxing received a phone call from Duan Yikuan. He stood up and walked to a quiet place to answer the phone.

Last Sunday he went to view the house. The landlord wasn’t in Beijing at the time, so he had to wait until he returned to know when he could sign the contract to move. He knew that once this week started, it would be inconvenient for him to go and sign the contract. And so, he asked Duan Yikun. Duan Yikun gave him a phone number and told him to leave the contract in the agency.

“The agency just called and said that your new landlord is back. You can sign the contract tomorrow,” Duan Yikun said through the phone. “Coincidentally, it’s also time to get you guys a daily assistant. Tomorrow, they’ll help you sign the contract. Leave the moving to them too.”

“Thank you, Kun-ge. I’ll take care of it myself. There’s nothing much, just some clothes and shoes.”

“Seems like there really isn’t much to move. It’s almost time to buy new clothes and shoes too.”

Xie Zhuxing agreed and smiled.

Duan Yikun then said again, “I’m a bit busy today so I didn’t have time to go see you guys. I heard that the photoshoot went well?”

“It was alright. The director looked pleased,” Xie Zhuxing replied.

“Honestly those kids are well-behaved. It’s just Wang Chao who has a little young master attitude, unsatisfied with everyone,” Duan Yikun said.

“He does have a bit of a temper, but he also does listen to other people’s advice.”

“It depends on who’s giving him the advice though.”

Xie Zhuxing knew there was another meaning to his words, but he couldn’t speak carelessly, nor did he want to ask.

Duan Yikun continued, “You guys relax first. Pay attention to the rest of the members and make sure they don’t drink too much. If they’re done eating then go back early.”

“Alright.”

When he went back to the table, Wang Chao and Ji Jie were currently playing Little Bees. They were playing rather angrily. They stared as if they were fighting and yelled, “Two little bees! Flying in the flowers! Fly ah! Fly ah!”

Wang Chao flipped out a “scissor” and Ji Jie flipped out a “paper”. Wang Chao then lifted up his hand and delivered two slaps to Ji Jie’s face. “Pa pa!”

They continued for two more rounds, both of which Wang Chao won. Once again, Wang Chao delivered another “pa pa!”

They continued.

Wang Chao won again.

“Pa! Pa! Pa!”

Ji Jie drank his drink in anger.

Wang Chao was a bit unsatisfied as he said, “Do you even know how to play? If I go ‘pa pa’, then you have to go ‘ah ah’! Why aren’t you saying it? If you don’t follow the rules then you’re gonna have to drink as a punishment. Do you understand?”

Ji Jie had been provoked. As expected, he was going to have to take another shot.

Xie Zhuxing couldn’t watch anymore as he stopped the two. “Alright, stop playing with him. He basically stays at nightclubs all night. How can you possibly beat him?”

Ji Jie didn’t have a good alcohol tolerance. He was already a bit uncomfortable, and now that he was being held back, he became aware of how embarrassing it might be in front of everyone as he put down his glass.

Wang Chao was just getting hyped up; now he wasn’t pleased again. He pushed Xie Zhuxing’s shoulder and said, “What are you doing, huh?”

“Stop fooling around.”

“How am I fooling around?” Wang Chao asked.

Xie Zhuxing took away the alcohol in front of him and said, “Quiet down, don’t drink anymore.”

Wang Chao could sense that he wasn’t too happy, so he asked in a low voice, “Did Kun-ge say something on the phone just now?”

“He didn’t say anything. I just don’t like how loud it is here. I just want to eat and then leave.”

Wang Chao knew that he didn’t like loud places, so he said, “Alright, I won’t drink anymore. Agh, I ordered a plate of mala crawfish. How come it’s not here yet?

The barbeque restaurant was loud and noisy. One’s throat would go numb if they tried calling a waiter over.

Xie Zhuxing said, “I’ll go tell them to hurry it up.”

Wang Chao pressed against his shoulder and said, “I’ll go instead. I’ll use the bathroom on the way.”

In the end, the bathroom trip took so long that by the time the plate of mala crawfish had been divided and finished amongst everyone, he still wasn’t back yet. His phone was also left on the table.

A barbeque restaurant in the summer didn’t have a good mix of customers. Xie Zhuxing was a bit worried as he picked up Wang Chao’s phone and said to Ji Jie, “I’m gonna go look for him.”

“He’s a full-grown adult. Are you scared he got lost or something?”

“I’m afraid that mouth of his is causing him trouble again. He’s still not back yet. I’m worried he got into a fight with someone outside.”

Ji Jie spoke as he peeled the shell off of the crawfish, “If anyone really beats him up over that rotten mouth of his, I’ll send that person a silk banner as a gift. They’re doing a great deed for the people.”

Xie Zhuxing thought internally, Should you really be talking about him? As if your mouth isn’t just as rotten as his.

He went to the bathroom and saw that Wang Chao wasn’t inside. Then, Xie Zhuxing walked to the lounge; it didn’t seem like anything had occurred here either. While he was there, he swiftly paid for the bill. As he walked out of the restaurant, he saw Wang Chao’s ferrari parked right in front of the store.

Where did he go?

Just as he was going to walk back in, the ferrari shook a bit.

His mood immediately turned sour as he turned around, wanting to walk back into the store.

At that moment, a young couple walked out from the store. Such a flashy car was already very eye-catching, not to mention the rocking of the car wasn’t very conforming to society. The boy immediately took out his phone to take pictures.

Xie Zhuxing stood in front of the boy, causing him to be shocked. “What do you want?”

Xie Zhuxing didn’t say anything as he continued to stand there expressionlessly.

The girl didn’t want to cause any trouble, so she tugged on her boyfriend. “Let’s go, let’s go,”

The two walked away together.

Xie Zhuxing walked over to Wang Chao’s car and kicked the door harshly.

From inside came a girl’s “ouch!”, then Wang Chao cursed, “Fuck! Who is it! Are you looking for trouble?!”

There was a reflective film on the window of the car so the inside couldn’t be seen. Xie Zhuxing didn’t want to see what was going on inside anyway. His line of vision shifted away and said, “Hurry up and come out!”

Wang Chao didn’t rechnozie his voice. He put the window down a bit, wanting to curse, “Who the fuck…” he adruptyly changed his tone, “It’s you.”

After ten seconds of faint rustling, Wang Chao pushed the car door open and the scent of a girl’s perfume flowed out from the car.

Xie Zhuxing got dizzy from the smell, frowning as he pursed his eyebrows.

Wang Chao’s clothes were actually quite tidy, only his t-shirt was crooked. The round neckline exposed his collar, as well as some lipstick on his neck.

He cursed at him, “What do you want? I was just unzipping my zipper when you scared me. Look, I clamped my finger.”

He showed his clamped index finger to Xie Zhuxing, only for it to be slapped away harshly with a loud sound.

He didn’t think Xie Zhuxing would actually get mad. He was shocked as he asked, “What are you doing?”

“Why are you acting like an animal? Are you not embarrassed?”

“….Are you yelling at me?”

Xie Zhuxing turned around and walked away.

Wang Chao continued from behind, “Xie Zhuxing, how dare you yell at me!”

Xie Zhuxing didn’t walk back into the barbeque shop. He hailed a taxi and drove away.

Wang Chao was so mad he stomped his foot and repeated, “Fuck, he yelled at me. He actually yelled at me…”

The girl inside the car asked, “He left? Do you want to continue?”

How could Wang Chao possibly be in the mood to continue now? He hurried her, “Continue my ass! Get out!”

The girl, “…You said you were going to buy me a Prada bag.”

Wang Chao stared at the taxi that was driving away as he said fiercely, “Alipay transfer, go buy it yourself.”

The girl didn’t shy away either as she said her account.

Wang Chao searched for his phone, only to discover that he didn’t have it on him.

The girl, “…You have such a nice car. Are you lying for a quick fuck?”

Wang Chao said angrily, “Fuck are you talking about? I didn’t even take my pants off!”

Xie Zhuxing calmed down as he sat in the taxi.

He didn’t understand himself either. Wang Chao was an idiot, he would get mad whenever he saw him getting close to someone else. Was he being infected by that idiot? Such a small matter, was it worth getting so angry over?

Evenmore so, that idiot was a stallion in the first place.

The more he thought about it, the more annoyed he got. It must be because he’s stressed due to their upcoming debut; his whole person was off.

He just got angry at Wang Chao. It just so happens he didn’t want to wait on that young master anymore.

He went back to Wang Chao’s house and packed his things. Just as he was getting ready to leave with his luggage, Wang Chao walked into the living room panting. He looked at the bags in his hand and said, “Fuck, what is the meaning of this?”

Xie Zhuxing didn’t want to fool around with him anymore, but he didn’t want to argue with him for real. He said in a normal tone, “Kun-ge said my new landlord is back. I can move today.”

Wang Chao was stunned. “…It’s not because you’re mad at me?”

“Why would I be mad?”

Wang Chao couldn’t tell what he meant. “Then why did you just yell at me so unpleasantly before?”

“If you know that it was unpleasant, then don’t do such unpleasant things.”

Wang Chao would understand a bit of why he was upset now. “I was in a hurry! Do you know how much time it wastes to get a hotel room? I wanted to quickly get it done and then go back and eat some mala crawfish.”

Xie Zhuxing was speechless. “…” How could there be such an idiot in this world?

Wang Chao had a puzzled expression as he asked, “Why are you so mad at me trying to hook up?”

Xie Zhuxing, “…” He’s mad? He wasn’t mad at all. Who was mad? It wasn’t him.

Wang Chao started guessing blindly, “Were you afraid that some paparazzi was going to catch me? My poster is going to be released tomorrow. No one’s going to take a picture of me.”

Xie Zhuxing wanted to beat him up, but he endured, his teeth going numb from the clenching. “Even then, you should be more careful.”

Wang Chao promised hurriedly, “I definitely won’t try it in the car again.” He then muttered, “Doing it in the car isn’t as comfortable as doing it on a bed.”

Xie Zhuxing, “…” Maybe he should just beat him up once.

Wang Chao felt that Xie Zhuxing’s temper still hadn’t cooled down yet. He pretended to be pitiful as he said, “Actually, I’ve never done it in the car before. I accidentally hit my head before; it really hurts.” He turned his head to him. “Touch it if you don’t believe me. There’s a huge bump there.”

“…”

He reached out and touched it, there definitely was a big bump on the back of his head.

Wang Chao took advantage of the situation and took away his luggage. “Look, it’s already so late. How about you sleep with me for one more night and then move tomorrow?”

He smiled mischievously, ah, there really was no cure for him.

Xie Zhuxing, “…” He should’ve hit his head harder.
